TROY IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS

• Troy enters the NCAA Athens Regional ranked 85th by Golfstat and 88th by Golfweek. • Individually, the Trojans check it at the following spots in the Golfstat rankings - Fátima Fernández Cano (114), Bianca Lohbauer (320), Gabi Oubre’ (593), Becca Horner (598) and Lindsey Harrison (895).

TOUGH SCHEDULE

• Troy played by far the toughest schedule in the Sun Belt Conference this season. Troy’s schedule weight in Golfstat is 75.012 with the next closest team being Texas State at 75.220.

TROY CLAIMS THIRD SUN BELT TITLE IN FOUR SEASONS

• The Troy women’s golf team cemented its legacy among the all-time great programs in the Sun Belt Conference with its third league title in the past four seasons. Troy claimed a five-shot victory over Georgia State. • The Trojans began their reign of dominance with a championship in 2014 when Becca Horner and Fátima Fernández Cano were freshmen. Now seniors, Horner and Cano will finish their Troy careers with Sun Belt titles in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

CANO & LOHBAUER EARN ALL-SUN BELT HONORS

• Troy women’s golfers Fátima Fernández Cano and Bianca Lohbauer were named to the All-Sun Belt Conference First Team. • The honor was Cano’s fourth first-team All-Sun Belt honor. She was also named the Sun Belt Women’s Golfer of the Year last season and the Sun Belt Women’s Golf Freshman of the Year in 2014. • The All-Sun Belt honor is the second of Lohbauer’s career as the sophomore earned second team honors last season.

BREAKING DOWN THE RECORD BOOK

• The Trojans have taken a full a full on assault of the school record book during Bart Barnes’ tenure. Nine of the top 10 individual rounds, 11 of the top 13 individual 36-hole totals and 11 of the top 13 individual 36-hole totals have come during Barnes’ tenure. On the team side, the top 13 single rounds, the top 11 36-hole score totals and 10 of the top 11 54-hole score tallies have all come with Barnes as the head coach. • This season, the Trojans have recorded five of the top 13 team rounds, five of the top 11 36-hole totals and three of the top 54-hole scores in school history. • Individually, three of the lowest rounds in school history have happened this season -- Fátima Fernández Cano (67), Becca Horner (68) and Fátima Fernández Cano (68). Five of the top 11 36-hole scores have come this season and three of the top 54-hole scores have come this season.

NO STRANGER TO WINS

• The Trojans are no strangers to picking up individual and team wins. While Troy has won just one team title -- Sun Belt Championship -- this season, the Trojans won three team titles during the 2015-16 season and three times during the 2014-15 season. Individually, Fátima Fernández Cano has won eight career individual titles.

@TroyTrojan_Golf Just three-plus seasons into his coaching career, Bart Barnes has won three Sun Belt Conference championships, earned two Sun Belt Coach of the Year honors, amassed a 353-220-6 record and led the Trojans to three NCAA Regional appearances. Barnes, the 2014 & 2015 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, was named the Troy women’s golf head coach in August 2013 after four seasons as an assistant with both the men’s and women’s programs. The Trojans have taken a full a full on assault of the school record book during his tenure as his team completely rewrote the annals of Troy history. The top three career stroke averages (Fátima Fernández Cano, Bianca Lohbauer, Gabi Oubre’) and seven of the top 10 career stroke averages (Becca Horner, Langley Vannoy, Taylor McGraw, Brooke Spinks) all played under Barnes. Cano owns the top three singleseason stroke averages in school history, while Lohbauer has the fourth highest. All told, Barnes’ golfers hold eight of the top 10 single-season stroke averages in school history. During Troy’s run to its third Sun Belt championship in four seasons, Cano became the first four-time All-Sun Belt First Team selection in Troy history, while Lohbauer joined her on the All-Sun Belt First Team. The Trojans entered the NCAA Athens Regional with a No. 85 national ranking after a commanding five-shot victory at the Sun Belt Championship. Under Barnes, Troy has led at the end of 10-of-12 rounds at the Sun Belt Championship and were in second place at the end of the other two rounds. Troy won three tournaments during the 2015-16 season -- the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate, Samford Intercollegiate and Chris Banister Golf Classic. Cano was named the Sun Belt Women’s Golfer of the Year and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Regionals. The Trojans also won three tournaments during Barnes’ second season as the head coach, including the final two of the year heading into the NCAA South Bend Regional. Troy set school records for lowest round, lowest 36-hole score and lowest 54-hole score. Remarkably, the Trojans fired the top three 54-hole scores in school history, while shooting the top two 36-hole scores (five in the top 10) and four of the top 10 rounds. Barnes led the Trojans to a No. 82 national ranking and a 12-shot victory over Texas State in the Sun Belt Championship (36 holes). Cano, McGraw and Vannoy were all named to the All-Sun Belt Team, marking the first time in school history three Trojans made the team. The Trojans advanced to play in the NCAA South Bend Regional. In his first season, Barnes led Troy to the Sun Belt Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA East Regional. The conference title was Troy’s first since moving to Division I in 1993. Barnes also helped tutor then-freshman Cano to the Sun Belt Individual Championship, Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year honors and a spot on the All-Sun Belt First Team. Barnes’ coaching really showed in the spring of 2014 as the Trojans showed dramatic improvement from the fall season. Spinks finished third at the Sun Belt Championship and saw her overall stroke average drop by 1.33 strokes from the fall to the spring. The Trojans defeated No. 50 Georgia 3-1 in match play on the Bulldogs’ home course in the Liz Murphey Classic during his initial campaign. Barnes joined the Troy staff in January 2010 following a standout playing career at Middle Tennessee and a stint on the National Golf Association Hooters Tour. Entering his first season, the women’s team was coming off its best finish at the Sun Belt Conference Championships after placing fourth at the event in April 2013. The Troy women claimed three team titles during the 2011-12 season and one during the 2012-13 campaign under the guidance of then head coach Matt Terry and Barnes. Barnes began his collegiate playing career at Central Alabama Community College where he earned Academic AllAmerica honors before transferring to Middle Tennessee for his final two seasons. Barnes’ most notable finish during his college career was his final tournament, the Middle Tennessee Intercollegiate, where he placed second. Upon graduation, Barnes was granted the honor of being the under-25 representative for the Alabama State Team in the Southeastern Challenge Cup Matches in 2008. Later pursuing his dreams of playing professionally, he was a member of the National Golf Association (NGA) Hooters Tour in 2009. Hailing from Elba, Ala., Barnes received a marketing degree from Middle Tennessee in 2008. Barnes is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sport and fitness management at Troy University and was valedictorian of his graduating class at Elba High School.
