1. Combine all, except cranberries, in cocktail shaker. 2. Shake vigorously to chill. 3. Pour and garnish with cranberries.

Heat oven to 375. Grease cookie sheets. Make 4, 8 x 5 rectangles and place on floured surface. Place meat on dough. Combine cheese, pepper and oil. Sprinkle over meat and sprinkle with basil. Roll up dough, starting at short end of rectangle and seal edges. 8. Cut each into 5 slices; place on cookie sheet. 9. Bank 15-20 min.

Bad jokes aside, it’s safe to assume that when we want to be out and about, preparing for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or whatever holiday, we have a laundry list of prep work for, a lot out our time will be spent indoors where it’s warm. Aspiring Artists New art program at Aspire has everyone feeling creative. THE ART ROOM AT ASPIRE is covered in art of all different styles and colors. Art lines the walls, but also every other open surface. There are looms, canvases, pallets, and more waiting for their artists to cover them. Aspire, a community for people with disabilities, is working on yet another empowering program. Aspire has always involved art in their happenings, but with more interest and great talent they have expanded the program. Creative Expressions is a group of eight artists; each artist is given supplies by Aspire. After signing a contract, Aspire can sell each artist’s work throughout the community; artists receive 50% of the income from sales. The artists, however, are more interested in art as their hobby and passion, rather than their business. Kirk Opp, a knitter, knits almost every day of the week for several hours. His work is available at Karisma Boutique; he also donates hats for newborns at both hospitals in Aberdeen. “I like to donate” says Opp.

Another artist, Jim Weber, also has work shown off in businesses around Aberdeen. Weber’s paintings can be seen hanging in Hearing Care Professionals and at the Capitol Theatre. Weber uses many different styles and sizes of brushes on his canvases to create abstract pieces. Mari Anne Dale, the Creative Expressions coordinator, explains that the art room is like a home base for the eight artists: “Art is a stress reliever. It is therapeutic and gives them a sense of accomplishment.” Dale would like to see the Creative Expression artists’ work all over town. New restaurant flies into Aberdeen

THE FOURTH QUARTER ENDED, the smoke has cleared on the home game. The question remains though, where shall we go for fifth quarter? The Buffalo Wings and Rings by My Place has taken flight. Here is a restaurant that gives you the feeling of a VIP. Buffalo Wings and Rings was founded in 1984, serving homemade bleu cheese and their signature wings. The new Aberdeen location will be the 60th worldwide! Thinking about the name of Aberdeen’s hockey team, this was meant to be! With a menu ranging from burgers to bourbon BBQ wings, they have it all! While waiting you can savor one of the tap domestics or bottled craft beers. In the meantime, you can watch the games going on one of the 50 TVs. They hope to be the, “fifth quarter” spot for the local teams. TEN YEAR OLD STELLA NELSON found a way to share her love of books and the Aberdeen Public Library at the same time. Nelson, a fifth grader at CC Lee, spearheaded a book sale to raise money for the new public library. A long time library goer and book lover, she decided to take action once she saw articles about the new library popping up all over the newspaper. And what better way to support a library than a book sale? With the help of her parents, Nelson posted ads and started a Facebook event to advertise. She donated some of her own books and various community members pitched in as well. “We ended up with a whole lot of books,” she said. By the end of the sale, Nelson had raised $800 from book sales. Leftover books were donated to Safe Harbor as well as the mini libraries around town. Nelson will likely be a frequent patron once the new library opens. “It looks really spacious. I think it will be really nice to go there with all the natural sunlight,” she said. // — BECCA SIMON

Brown County Pet Rescue League finds safe and loving homes for abandoned or stray cats and dogs. IT’S RAINING CATS AND DOGS around Brown County! Brown County Pet Rescue League (BCPRL) is saving homeless cats and dogs in Aberdeen and its surrounding areas; the organization is nonprofit and works closely with the Spay and Neuter Coalition. Talese Nelson, Shannon Bohl, and Jen Thomas aka the Pet Rescue League work diligently to help animals in need of homes. These animals, mostly cats and dogs, have been abandoned or are strays. By working with the Spay and Neuter Coaltion, BCPRL is trying to help overpopulation that is tied with a high stray count. This superhero trio works on a volunteer basis and all donations go directly to supplies and animal needs. They proclaim their mantra “Don’t shop! Adopt!” BCPRL not only helps cute critters find homes through adoption, but also helps by providing foster homes. These pets get acquainted with both new people and new surroundings through the use of foster homes. Families may apply to adopt animals or be a foster family. If you choose to have a furry friend as just a visitor BCPRL will provide all the necessities for taking care of the cat or dog. HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT how water gets to your own kitchen sink? Aberdeen Water Works has been figuring out the best way to keep our water flowing since 1934. To ensure our drinking water is clean, after taking water from the lakes, dams, and the river, the water is taken to the water plant to be cleansed and made drinkable. The water we drink goes through many different levels of processing to make it not only clean and fit water safety standards, but also taste good. Aberdeen Water Works does everything they can to get us the water we need. Janel Ellingson, superintendent of Aberdeen Water Works, commits to “improving the treatment process to be able to provide water of more consistent hardness and to better control taste and

odor.” Aberdeen Water Works recently finished a large project called the Input Project. This project was in the works for quite a while and the end result was absolutely necessary. While water was flowing into the water plant, river gunk and sludge would stick to the input pipes. Because of this, divers were constantly having to dive into the dirt and grime to clean the grates of the input pipes. Aerial views show the most dramatic before and after view of the intake diversion project. Instead of allowing the Elm River to simply flow past and fill the intake port, a massive rock dam was built allowing the river to flow past yet trickle through, trapping sediment before it makes it way to the intake port. In order to access the intake port and to build the rock berm, temporary dams were installed. The water was then pumped out exposing the river bed which was dredged and contoured to control water flow. Upon completion, the "island" in the middle was planted to become a wetlands. Over the years the plan is to replace clogged rocks as the silt builds up, which will be far less frequent and safer than sending divers down.

All Aberdeen Reads 2015 Draws Hundreds ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, approximately 300 people showed up at the Capitol Theatre to meet Cathy LaGrow, author of The Waiting. The Waiting is a true story about LaGrow’s grandmother, Minka Disbrow who in 1928 was raped, became pregnant, and was ultimately forced to give up her baby daughter for adoption in Sioux Falls. The story chronicles Minka’s long, vibrant life as she constantly prayed for her lost daughter, eventually reconnecting with her, and for the first time, meets an entire new branch of her family tree she did not know existed. Of particular local interest, Minka was from the Aberdeen area and grew up on a farm near Mansfield. She passed away in 2014 at the age of 102 in California. All Aberdeen Reads is a program of the Alexander Mitchell Public Library designed to promote literacy, cultivate intergenerational and multicultural discussions while fostering a sense of community. Each year, one book is selected and the entire community is invited to read it. Cathy LaGrow traveled from Oregon to anxiously accept an invitation to visit the land of her grandmother and greet the people of the Aberdeen region. It was a touching evening. // — TROY MCQUILLEN

something unique and different. The idea for license plate mugs actually came when a friend said that she had seen a mug in Montana, and she asked Katie if she could make something using South Dakota plates. She usually makes smaller pottery like mugs, trays, and dishware, but hopes that soon she will be able to create bigger pieces. Shreuers will be busy this holiday season with an art show in Selby, a booth at Winterfest, and many gift requests. Having two jobs, she does not have a lot of spare time, but when she does she still spends time relaxing and making small items in her studio. Shreuers, still young, knows that she still has a lot to learn about both running a business and creating pottery. Kat Ceramics, although still in its humble beginnings phase, has great possibility. //

“I LIKE TO BUILD THINGS, MAKE THINGS.” Katie Shreuers is a 24-year-old local artist and business owner. She is the owner of Kat Ceramics, where she creates and sells handmade pottery. Shreuers graduated from Northern State University with a degree in Art and now uses it to do what she loves. Despite her business not being her only job, she works diligently to fulfill all of her ceramics requests. She never thought that she would be able to do her pottery as a career this early in her life. Shreuers bought all of her equipment including her kiln (a type of oven) and her own pottery wheel. The magic happens in a garage stall, an uncommon but worthy spot, that she rents from a friend. “A friend of mine was looking for a dish set, and said, ‘If you make me this dish set you can set up in my garage.’” The business is a little over one year old and still developing, “it is always a process.” Someday, she aspires to have Kat Ceramics be her one and only day job; for now, she does work for local businesses and also takes special orders. Shreuers has been shaping and forming since she was in high school, but she explains that it was in college that she really got into it and learned the most. She does enjoy other forms of art, but pottery allows her to get hands-on and build something 3D. Her most popular items are her license plates trays and mugs. She explains that many artists use license plates in their work, but each artist forms

eterans Day is coming up soon on the 11th November. For many of us, it’s a time for V ofcookouts, parades, and of course honoring our current and former troops. But for those of us who have not served, we may sometimes find ourselves wondering what it truly means to be a veteran in America. Does Veteran’s Day mean more to our service members than just barbeques and a day off? And if so, how much? We looked to Presentation College’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Tim Beckham for some insight. Tim joined the service shortly after the 9/11 terror attacks and was out of boot camp by November. Tim recalls, “I had graduated high school, kinda thinking about going to college, and after September 11 I decided I wanted to serve the country.” From then he spent eight years in the Air Force as a Public Affairs Specialist, basically a photojournalist and public relations person, eventually achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. He spent three tours overseas, two in Iraq and one in Qatar. Having family who had served in the military, Tim had always been a very patriotic person, but after 9/11, boot camp, and experiencing first-hand what members of the military go through every day, it gave him a new understanding and appreciation for the sacrifices they make. So have Tim’s Veteran’s Day experience changed from before he became a veteran to after? Well, yes and no. He still spends it how he did before, getting together with friends and family, having a barbeque, and enjoying the day. But it’s also a time to reflect, not only on his time in the service but the times of everyone else who has served, including his wife whom he met in the Air Force while in Turkey. While deciding to join the military is a good and honorable decision for anybody to make, it is also a very big decision that some people might be apprehensive about. When asked what he would say to someone who was thinking about military service, Tim replied, “I wouldn’t want to speculate on everybody, but for me it was a great decision. I met my wife in the military, I got my college paid for, I got to see a lot of the world, and I got to serve my country… I think it’s a great experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” So enjoy the parades, bring the kids; eat great food at a barbeque with family and friends. It’s these things that our troops have fought so hard for after all. But make sure to remember the many who have fought and the many who have fallen, and if you can, take the time to thank one of the many who have served our country because there’s no doubt, our lives wouldn’t be the same without them. //

Stacy Franks Giving Aberdeen Animals A Second chance s many of us know, owning a pet requires a lot of time, patience and love. It’s a lot of responsibility A owning just a single cat or dog. One can only imagine trying to handle taking care of hundreds of animals. But that’s what the Manager of the Aberdeen Humane Society, Stacy Franks, looks forward to everyday. Stacy Franks grew up in Alexandria, South Dakota with a love of animals that began at a very young age. When she moved to Aberdeen in 2011, she noticed an ad in the paper for the position of manager at the local Humane Society and knew that it was a job she had to have. Since she took the position four years ago she has done much more for the shelter than just managing it. “Myself and the staff will get together and do fundraisers, whether it be for a specific animal, a surgery, or just something we need done out here. It’s just limitless, there’s so much to do.” And a lot has been done! Since Stacy came on board she has set up the reconstruction of the cat area, and started up their own surgery room to handle their spays and neuterings on site. She credits a lot of the Humane Society’s accomplishments to the overwhelming support from the community. “We couldn’t do what we do if we didn’t have this community.” And because of that support she intends to make even more improvements, including a new building for additional storage. “The community is so good to us, they bring us so many supplies that we have no where to put it anymore.” There are also plans to update the large dog area, the oldest part of the building. However the required funding for that particular project might keep it from happening for a while. With the help of Northern Plains Animal Health, Stacy and the Humane Society make sure that all their rescues and adoptions are in the best of health. “We do a general examination, including all their vaccines for things like bordetella and rabies. We de-worm, we Frontline. We do spays, neuters, declawing and other small surgeries.” Any animals that need more intensive surgeries are taken directly to Northern Plains. According to Stacy, one of the biggest problems they face on a regular basis is when animals get dropped off overnight. “That’s really a cruddy thing for the animals, because we don’t know any background on them.” If you have an animal you want to drop off, Stacy and her staff ask that you just call them beforehand. It is the Humane Society’s policy to not take in more animals than they can hold but if it’s an emergency situation, you can be sure that they will find some place for them to stay. As long as Stacy Franks and the Aberdeen Humane Society can do something about it, you can be sure that every animal will find the right home. “I’ll be a lifer here. It’s a love for animals.” //

Prepare for Pumpkin Spice! Sweet Treats for the Fall Season

umpkin Spice everything! It has become a bit of a tradition in recent years for the smell of pumpkin spice to be just as much a part of Fall as the changing of the leaves. It’s sort of the unofficial flavor of Autumn. This year CJ’s Patisserie (located at 224 1st Ave SE, directly west of Central Park) is bringing a sweet twist to pumpkin spice, in cupcake form! These pumpkin spice cupcakes have been a big hit for them so far, and now they are sharing their secret with us. If you’ve had them already, then you know you’re in for a treat. If you haven’t, give them a try and let the folks at CJ’s Patisserie know what you thought. And pick me up a croissant while you’re there! //

Recipe size approx. 2 dozen 2 Large Eggs 2 Large Egg Whites ¾ cup Pumpkin Puree 1 tsp. Vanilla 1 ¼ cup Cake Flour, sifted ¾ cup Sugar ¼ cup Brown Sugar 2 tsp. Baking Powder 1 tsp. Salt 1 tsp. Cinnamon ¼ tsp. Ginger ¼ tsp. Nutmeg ¼ tsp. All Spice 1 ½ stick Unsalted Butter, soft PUMPKIN PUREE (You can substitute canned pumpkin puree)

1 Cut small pumpkin in half. Remove seeds and pumpkin pulp. Rub a thin layer of butter on the inside of the pumpkin. Place pumpkin halves butter side down on large baking sheet. Roast in the oven at 400o for 45 minutes or until the pumpkin is soft and the skin starts to bubble or pull away from the pumpkin. Let cool. 2 Peel the skin of the pumpkin and puree. 3 In a saucepan on medium heat, cook down pumpkin puree until there is no excess water

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

1 In a tabletop mixer, use the paddle attachment and cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

1 ½ pkg. cream cheese 1 ½ sticks unsalted butter 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted 1 tsp. vanilla

2 Switch to whisk attachment and add whole eggs, egg whites, and vanilla. Mix on medium and then high until fluffy.

1 In a tabletop mixer with a paddle attachment, cream together cream cheese, butter, and vanilla.

3 In a separate bowl sift together dry ingredients: Cake flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. Add dry ingredients to butter egg mixture, mix on low to medium speed until incorporated. 4 Add pumpkin puree and mix on low to medium to incorporate.

2 Add sifted powdered sugar ¼ at a time on low speed until fully incorporated. Once incorporated paddle on medium high speed for 3 minutes. 3 Put frosting into a piping bag and frost cupcakes once they are completely cooled.

5 Spoon batter into cupcake liners 2/3 full. 6 Bake at 350o for 12 - 15 minutes. Until toothpick tester comes out clean.

Our moms all have their signature recipe for the perfect dressing, but sometimes it’s nice to spice things up. CJ’s Patisserie was kind enough to share with us their exclusive Holiday Dressing recipe, made especially for the holiday season and our readers. //

CJ’s Patisserie Sausage, Apple, Cranberry Holiday Dressing 1 bag CJ’s Patisserie Holiday Bread Cubes (available at CJ’s Patisserie) 1lb Spicy Sausage 1 Large Yellow Onion, chopped 3 cloves Garlic, minced 1 ½ cup chopped Celery 1 Large or 2 Medium firm Apples, chopped (Golden Delicious, Honeycrisp, Pink Lady) 1 ½ cup Dried Cranberries 3 tsp fresh Thyme, minced 2 tsp fresh Rosemary, minced 2 tsp fresh Sage, minced 3 tsp fresh Parsley, minced 1 tsp fresh Chives, minced ¾ stick Butter, melted 1 cup Chardonnay 2-2 ½ cup Chicken Stock Turkey Giblets, cooked and chopped

1 In a large skillet brown sausage. Add celery, onions, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Continue to cook until onions and celery start to turn translucent, stirring occasionally. 2 In a large bowl pour sausage mixture over bread cubes. Mix in dried cranberries, apples, parsley, chives, giblets, and melted butter. 3 Pour ¾ of the chicken stock and Chardonnay over bread mixture and gently fold dry ingredients until there is an even distribution of moisture. Add more liquid until your dressing is moist. 4 Allow dressing to cool completely before loosely stuffing the turkey.

hen I entered the expo building on Saturday night I came across something I had never seen live. Multiple women circling a track dressed in their team's colors waiting for the whistle to blow and begin what can be described as beauty and brute force all in one. As the Jammers begin to find their way around the opposing team it’s almost like watching a running back find open space on the football field. Weaving her way through blockers gracefully and getting some help from her teammates shear force. Nancy Appl aka “Applicious” finds an opening and makes her way all the way around the track scoring points for her team. Now it’s time to do it all over again. Women’s Roller Derby is quickly becoming a big time sport here in Aberdeen and nationwide it’s really gaining attention. “In fact with skaters, refs, NSOs, and volunteers approximately 20-30 people are involved in

these events,” said Merrie Atherton, A-Town Roller Girlz President and Pivot Blocker. The A-Town Roller Girlz have about four home events a season along with a lot of road games including the Rumble in the Valley Tournament. They also host a kids Halloween party each year. Not only is Roller Derby gaining more and more popularity here in Aberdeen, the Roller Girlz are finding talented individuals leading to some successful seasons. “We have had our fair share of wins this year. We earned our way into the Consolation Championship game at the Rumble in the Valley Tourney hosted by Forx Roller Derby in Grand Forks, ND! We had a successful recruiting event after the Fair and we are currently working on training our ‘Fresh Meat’ so they will be ready to roll next season,” said Atherton. Even when numbers were low they dug deep and got a victory with only six girlz on the team! “These Girlz truly fit the definition of team on and off the track! They are like a family,” added Atherton. The Roller Girlz become such a family that even nicknames sprout up for each member

of the team, something that has become very common in the Roller Derby community. Names such as Crimson Splat-Her, Nicki Heat, StackSmasher, Icky Thump, Robyn Banks, Ground Pounder, BludVayne, and Glammer Ram-Her just to list a few. Even the Head Referee has the nickname Colonel Angus. These type of nicknames definitely give a little personality to the organization and the team. Not only do these players bring a great sport to the community for entertainment and competition, but the A-Town Roller Girlz all volunteer for various things in Aberdeen’s community. They also donate all of the proceeds they earn back to local charities in the community. Some of those charities include: Aberdeen Area Humane Society, Kids Against Hunger, Brown County Relay for Life, Safe Harbor, Storybook Land, Mother’s of Angel, and

the Boy’s and Girl’s Club. Overall the A-Town Roller Girlz started from the ground floor and have worked their way up to help their community and bring in some great competition to Aberdeen. Just recently they were even nominated for an Abby Award. The future truly does look bright for this organization. Ashley Erickson Work Hard, Change Lives BY BECCA SIMON wise adage says: “Nothing worth having comes without hard work.” It’s a relatively common notion, and one A which Ashley Erickson, CEO of Sanford Aberdeen, is intimately familiar. At only 29-years-old, Ashley already has quite an extensive work history under her belt. Prior to her position at Sanford Aberdeen, she was a CEO at North Valley Health Center in Warren, Minnesota. Even before that, she was an administrative fellow at Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota and worked with a management company out of Grand Forks, North Dakota overseeing a variety of health clinics. Although her work in the healthcare field is extensive, initially Ashley had other plans. “When I was an undergrad I was going for accounting,” she said. However, her constant involvement with healthcare soon had her reevaluating her options. Her mother is employed at the Good Samaritan Society in Arthur, N.D. where Ashley grew up, which meant she was constantly in a nursing home environment. “I also had multiple surgeries throughout my collegiate basketball career, so I started to see more and more of the healthcare field, and I knew I wanted to make a difference,” she explained. Since Ashley became a part of the Aberdeen community nine months ago, she has been continually impressed by the friendliness and kindness of its people. “It’s big enough where you can still do your own thing, but small enough to where you have that concept of everyone being here for each other. If you need someone to reach out to, whether it’s a business partner or a family member, they’ll step up and help out.” Ashley hopes that by bringing more services to Sanford Aberdeen, she can reach out to the community as well. Because healthcare is such a dynamic field, she seeks to continue Sanford’s momentum of growth and expansion of services. “The vision of Aberdeen is a regional hub concept, and so we want to look at how we can be a partner with the surrounding communities, not only locally but regionally.” To do this, she wants to put an emphasis on making healthcare services available to everyone, whether by sending a physician directly to patients or utilizing telemedicine services so they don’t have to travel. Currently, Sanford employs over 460 people in the Aberdeen area, with 45 full-time providers and 20 that outreach to the city on a weekly or biweekly basis. To Ashley, interacting with the staff as well as community members is the best part of her job. “You are constantly learning from them, and you can take that knowledge and make a difference.” When she has spare time, Ashley enjoys meeting new people and trying new things. Most recently, she tried her hand at trap shooting. To Ashley, hard work doesn’t only mean being successful. It also means taking time out of her day to make sure she meets the needs of others. “At the end of the day I would do anything for you, even if I just met you,” she said. “Whether you are a housekeeper or non-clinical support, I say lead by example. So if I can do it, you can do it.” //

ach year holiday shopping for my family turns in to a disaster worse than Pompeii. Two years ago I procrastinated until just days before Christmas to buy anything. I live outside of Aberdeen and on my way home from shopping a good old-fashioned South Dakota blizzard struck and left me inching forward on the highway at top speeds of 30 mph. The year before that my husband and I bought our kids a fish tank complete with real live fish. A Christmas A 1910 Historic Home Sets the Stage for a Spectacular Family Legacy BY TROY MCQUILLEN

In 1910, residential lots were made available by Charles Howard and Samuel Hedger in the Highlands District located between 8th Ave NE and 15th Ave NE. This large new subdivision of Aberdeen was planted with 12,000 trees and was called the Highlands because it was three feet higher than downtown Aberdeen.

he schedule for Aberdeen Magazine requires that we work almost two months ahead of the season or events we cover in each issue. So as we approached this issue, which would of course feature holiday elements, how do you include lavish Christmas decorations in the early October? Instead of hiring someone to stage a house in the fall, we instead chose to feature a lavishly decorated house from a Christmas past. Several years ago I had heard of a house in the Highlands division up on north Lincoln Street that was literally “over the top” with Christmas decorations. We contacted the owners Jim Parsons and Karol BormesParsons and they invited us into their house to film segments of a holiday commercial. The pride Karol had in her historic home and her passion for Christmas stuck with me. So I bothered Jim and Karol again last Christmas (2014) to see if they’d be willing to allow me to share their Christmas spirit with Aberdeen Magazine readers. They happily agreed. I overstayed my welcome and took well over 100 photos, hearing stories about every single ornament, tree, light, setting, room, wreath and angel. I just didn’t want to leave. Karol was so excited to share her collection, Jim sat and smiled as she flitted from one room to the next, orally captioning the photos as I shot. The intent was to get the pages of Aberdeen Magazine laid out with all the great pictures then get her to help me add descriptive captions to each. To my shock, and everyone else’s, Karol passed away unexpectedly in May of this year. I contacted Dr. John Bormes, one of Karol’s sons here in Aberdeen and he encouraged me to print the pictures. He thought it would be

a loving tribute to her passion for Christmas and her devotion to family. Dr. Bormes recalls each Thanksgiving wh e n t h e wh o l e family would bring down the 50 plus boxes of decorations from the third floor rooms (rooms originally designed as servant quarters). “Everything had to come out of the boxes,” he states, “It all had to go up.” The ornaments came from everywhere, including many inherited by Karol from her great-grandmother. Just as new ones were acquired, old, low-hanging ones were inevitably broken by the youthful, next generation experiencing the excitement of Christmas. The Bormes family bought the house in 1964, and Jim continues to live in it today. It was built in 1910 presumably as a wedding gift to a child of a man named John W. Holmes. The Bormes family lovingly restored the home and added many modern conveniences and infrastructural upgrades. Mark Bormes, another of Karol’s children, plans to come home to Aberdeen this Christmas to decorate the house, perhaps one last time. A big Christmas is planned, exactly as Karol would have wanted. She’ll no doubt be there looking in on Jim, her children, grandchildren, and friends, probably through the eyes of one of the hundreds of angels watching over the family. // NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2015 ABERDEEN MAGAZINE |
