Matching Your Life With Your Body Goals

You have body goals.

But you also have a social life, enjoy going out to eat, and don't want to sacrifice your goals or the ability to go out with your friends.

You don't have to.

Lucky for us we live in one of the most accommodating cities for having a balanced life socially and in the context of our general wellbeing. Even our local airport, AUS, has stellar options for dining out.

Here are my top healthy restaurant recommendations in Austin, TX in 2022.

The Well - Downtown at 2nd Street

This vibrant downtown restaurant has everything from bread and nut milk made in-house to a selection of organic and sustainably grown wines. Their beautiful natural ambiance is enjoyed both outside and inside. My personal favorites from The Well are the blue matcha latte and the sweet potato hash from the brunch menu.

Picnik - Burnet

If you have food sensitivities, Picnik has you covered. The staff members will always ask you about your allergies and sensitivities, and they even have a big binder they can bring out if a customer needs to avoid something like avocados, peanuts, or dairy. Like The Well, Picnik also uses higher quality oils instead of cheap and cost-effective oils like canola and soybean oils that are harmful to the human body. At Picnik, I recommend the crispy fish tacos!

True Food Kitchen

True Food is a gem in Austin and has locations in 17 different states. True Food prides itself on sourcing the highest quality ingredients by partnering with local farms maintaining high integrity farming practices. My favorite dish at True Food kitchen is the turkey burger.

Flower Child

Located downtown and in the Domain, Flower Child is a fantastic choice for take-out or dining in. Flower Child offers customizable bowls and entrees so you can pick and choose what you want.

Honest Marys

Honest Marys is like the Chipotle of healthy food as in it is 100% customizable. You go down a line, let them know what you do or don't want in your meal, and they make it happen. This restaurant is the perfect spot for a picky eater. There are two locations in Austin, one in the Arboretum and the second in Rosedale!

Dai Due

A true Austin original. If you, or someone you know, loves wild game meats and animal-based eating, this is the place to go. Dai Due is more than a restaurant, but a butcher shop offering butchery classes. You can choose from antelope sausage and gravy, to french fries with beet ketchup, all of the meats and produce are locally sourced around Austin.

In Austin, you don't have to sacrifice taste for health. Nor do you have to sacrifice your goals for enjoying a social life.
