Bethel Woods:

THE FIRST TEN YEARS Since opening the doors in 2006, Bethel Woods has grown and developed into a multifaceted cultural destination, helping to transform the community by inspiring, educating, and empowering individuals through the arts and humanities. As the organization celebrates its 10th Anniversary, a look back at the JKIJNKIJVU QH VJG Ć’TUV FGECFG In the glow of a warm JULY 1 evening in 2006, Bethel Woods inaugural season begins with the New York Philharmonic. A total of nine Pavilion concerts attracts nearly 60,000 people. In 2007, 16 concerts are presented to 86,000 fans, and the Harvest Festival enters its 10th season.

2013 In 2013, 52 community and educational programs provide creative thinking and problem solving skills to area youth. The Harvest Festival marks its 15th season. The Eagles visit the Pavilion stage and fans say goodbye to Richie Havens.

2008 The Museum at Bethel Woods opens on JUNE 2, 2008 and is honored with two prestigious awards. People from all over the world visit to learn The Story of the ‘60s and Woodstock. The Event Gallery RTGUGPVU KVU Ć’TUV KPVKOCVG KPFQQT performances, and new community and education programs offer families greater access to the arts and humanities. Local students gather as history is made in ,CPWCT[ YJGP #OGTKEC KPCWIWTCVGU KVU Ć’TUV African American president. 2009 also marks the 40th Anniversary of the Woodstock festival CPF ĹŠ(TGGFQOĹŞ GEJQGU CETQUU VJG HGUVKXCN Ć’GNF again. Thousands return to celebrate and the Woodstock Alumni Registry is launched to record Ć’TUV RGTUQP UVQTKGU KP VJG RTGUGTXCVKQP TGEQTFU And the volunteer program is launched to support the growing organization.

2009

In 2010, The Museum presents The Wall that Heals, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall on the Great Lawn. The 500,000th concert fan is celebrated, and the Pavilion is ranked #39 among worldwide amphitheaters. In December, VJG Ć’TUV Holiday Market is a great success.

In 2014, 45 years after Woodstock, a new generation of music fans begin to make their own memories on this hallowed ground at Mysteryland USA VJG Ć’TUV OWUKE CPF ECORKPI HGUVKXCN VQ TGVWTP since 1969.

In 2011, it takes just 53 minutes for Elton John’s Pavilion concert to sell-out. Corks pop at the /CTMGV 5JGFU QP 1EVQDGT CV VJG ƒTUV CPPWCN Wine Festival. The World Stage Series of performances encourages youth to engage with and learn about other cultures. 2012 is pivotal. Founder, Alan Gerry, transforms Bethel Woods from a project of the Gerry Foundation to a stand-alone 501(c) (3) public charity governed by an independent board of trustees. Bethel Woods takes a carefully planned approach to expand outreach, education programs, and impact as a whole.

2014 In 2015, nearly 30,000 are inspired through education and community outreach programs. The Pavilion stage is graced with performances by Jackson Browne, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga and the Pollstar ranking rises to #22 in the world. In 2016, Bethel Woods embarks on the next decade with great enthusiasm. Educated by the past, empowered by the present and inspired by what the future holds.

Villet’s photo essays for LIFE magazine were sensitively and meaningfully selected for the exhibition and described by his wife, Barbara, whom Grey met while working at LIFE. As a writer and editor for the magazine, she and her husband represented a formidable team, and the results of their collaboration will be on view through December 31.

The Family Zone at Bethel Woods At the request of our patrons, Bethel Woods now provides a Family Zone on the general admission lawn for most events. The Family Zone is free of smoking, alcoholic beverages, standing and/or inappropriate language, creating a more enjoyable experience for our patrons. All patrons are welcome, and a special ticket isn’t required! The zone is first come, first serve and does have limited capacity. Designated Driver Program Yellow Cab Monticello & Bethel Woods encourage you to designate a safe driver and join our Designated Driver program. The designated driver stops at the Yellow Cab Designated Driver tent at the top of the lawn when they arrive. They’ll receive an insignia to wear and a voucher for a free soft drink. After the show, the Designated Driver stops back at the tent, hands in their insignia, and is entered to win a gift bag that includes artist merchandise and also a grand prize of a pair of 2017 Bethel Woods Season Lawn Passes.

Lawn chairs are not permitted to be brought into the venue. For your safety and convenience, Bethel Woods offers specially designed lawn chairs appropriate for the slope of the lawn. These chairs are available for $6.00 rental at the Box Office, in advance on our website, or directly at the Lawn Chair Tent located at the top of the lawn in Festival Plaza (ask any staff member to guide you).

Parking lot/Tailgating guidelines: Bethel Woods is committed to creating a safe environment for all guests, both in the venue and in the parking lots. All guests must follow the directions and instructions provided by Bethel Woods staff, security, and law enforcement. Bethel Woods permits tailgating under the conditions outlined in these Tailgating rules: Patrons who do not have a ticket for the event may not park at Bethel Woods. Violators will be towed at the owner’s expense and may be subject to law enforcement intervention. Tailgating is not permitted once the main act takes the stage. Violators will be towed at the owner’s expense and may be subject to law enforcement intervention. One parking space per vehicle, including tailgating equipment and personal belongings is permitted. All items (vehicle, chairs, tents, coolers, etc.) must remain in the allotted parking space. Groups desiring to tailgate together must arrive together to accommodate efficient and safe traffic flow. Please drink responsibly when tailgating. Parking for guests with a valid handicap license plate or other authorized identification is available near the Accessible/Special Needs Depot. Are there video screens? Yes, video screens are used for most Pavilion Stage performances. If it starts to rain, can I take an empty seat under the pavilion? Sorry, no. All guests sitting under the pavilion are required to hold a ticket for a pavilion seat. But, if it rains, you may visit our Box Office to upgrade your ticket to a pavilion seat if available. Bethel Woods is an outdoor facility and the performances are not cancelled due to inclement weather. What is a Season Lawn Pass? Once I enter the venue, can I leave and return? For safety reasons, Bethel Woods has a “no re-entry policy”. We recommend that our guests bring the items they will need with them and a light sweater or jacket, as evenings can get cooler. Can I visit the museum and go to a Pavilion Stage concert on the same day? Yes, you can visit the museum and attend a Pavilion Stage concert on the same day. Due to popular demand, museum visitation during a Pavilion Stage concert day is high. The Museum at Bethel Woods will offer half off admission ($7.50) three hours prior to any evening concert with a valid concert ticket. The Museum at Bethel Woods is an immersive, highly interactive experience and we suggest that you plan at least two hours for your visit through the main exhibit gallery.

A season lawn pass guarantees your place on the lawn all summer, valid for general admission for the lawn for all Pavilion concerts, including “Pavilion Only” and SOLD OUT shows. It also includes a free lawn chair rental at each concert and is transferable, so you can share it with friends, family or co-workers. (Valid for one admission per event only). The 2016 Season Lawn Pass is SOLD-OUT. Check BethelWoodsCenter.org later this year for information about the 2017 season lawn pass. Can I refund or exchange my tickets? All ticket sales are final. Where do I park for a Pavilion or Event Gallery performances? For General Parking, our parking staff will direct you to the appropriate general lots. For Museum or Event Gallery performances parking is in the main lot across from the Museum. For Pavilion Stage performances, Bethel Woods Members must have their official pass displayed in the windshield so that the parking staff may guide you to the appropriate lot. How much does parking cost? There is no charge for general admission parking. Secure, well lit parking is available at Bethel Woods. Premium Parking is available in advance, for $28.50 per car when you purchase your concert ticket online, by phone or at the Bethel Woods Box Office. Premium Parking offers reserved parking in Lot D, close to the Hurd Road crosswalk. Is there an ATM machine inside the venue? Yes. Four ATM’s are located on site: outside the Box Office, and at each of the three major concession areas House Right, House Left, and Festival Plaza (ask any staff member to guide you). Credit cards and MasterCard or Visa debit cards are also accepted at all permanent concession buildings. Is there a lost and found and where is it located? Yes.
