THE POWER OF SELFCONFIDENCE BY GARY QUINN
Self-confidence: either you have it or you don’t. As you strive to reach your goals and create the life you desire including relationships and career aspirations selfconfidence becomes a critical ingredient. It serves as the foundation from which trust and certainty spring forth, shaping the life we envision.
If you find yourself lacking in this area, there are numerous ways to cultivate a new sense of self-assurance. I'm referring to a deep-rooted confidence that propels you forward and actualises your true desires. It's easy to affirm to oneself, "I can do it," in moments of challenge, yet internal doubts often arise as we navigate life's obstacles and interactions.
So, how do we transcend these inner and outer challenges? By nurturing an abundance of self-confidence within. Daily affirmations can help dispel self-doubt and foster genuine confidence.
But what exactly is self-confidence? It's the belief in one's ability to excel and succeed in various endeavours. It encompasses not only tasks and activities but also the creation of the life we aspire to lead — building relationships, seizing opportunities, and realising our dreams. Self-confidence empowers us to pursue and achieve our goals across different domains, whether they involve career, relationships, spirituality, or personal growth.
Yet, sustaining self-confidence within everyday challenges requires even greater resilience. Many perceive self-confidence as separate from the universal forces at play, but there's a profound connection between our individual creative power and the cosmic energy that surrounds us. This creative force enables us to envision, believe, and ultimately manifest our deepest desires.
Think back to childhood, when imagination knew no bounds. We all possessed an innate ability to dream and believe in the extraordinary. This innate capacity is an integral part of self-confidence — the ability to transform thoughts into reality. However, when we lose touch with our eternal selves, we disconnect from this creative potential, resulting in a loss of self-confidence. True self-confidence stems from unwavering faith in our connection to the boundless creative energy of the universe.
To reclaim and rebuild self-confidence, we must engage in daily practices that replenish our inner reservoir of assurance. Life is aligned to a game of success, wherein self-confidence serves as the fuel that propels us forward. Just as a car requires regular refuelling, our self-confidence needs constant nourishment and renewal, especially in the face of adversity. Here are some actions to reclaim and reinforce your self-confidence:
1. Daydream and Reflect on Your Goals: Take time to envision your aspirations without limitations. Whether they're grand or modest, contemplate your career, family, and personal dreams. Writing them down can provide clarity and focus.
2. Acknowledge the Divine Origin of Your Dreams: Recognise that your goals stem from a divine source within you. Have faith in yourself and the support of the universe in manifesting your dreams.
3. Assess Your Strengths and Weaknesses: Identify areas for improvement and take practical steps to enhance your skills and capabilities. Whether through professional development courses or personal growth endeavours, investing in yourself boosts confidence.
4. Celebrate Past Accomplishments: Reflect on past achievements to bolster your confidence in your ability to succeed. Let these successes serve as reminders of your potential.
5. Embrace Fear and Trust in the Universe: Confront your fears head-on and trust in the guiding force of the universe. Draw strength from the love and support that surrounds you, knowing that you are capable of overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals.
Self-confidence is not just a fleeting feeling but a deep-seated belief in oneself and the creative power within. By nurturing this belief through daily practices and embracing the support of the universe, we can reclaim and strengthen our self-confidence, empowering ourselves to manifest our dreams and aspirations. Always take time to look at your past wins and successes and truly acknowledge them.

REMEMBERING VIKKI -The Number Witch
This place is a dream. Only a sleeper considers it real. Then death comes like dawn, and you wake up laughing at what you thought was your grief - Rumi
March 25th our wonderful Vikki returned home to spirit. Huni, Vikki’s daughter shared the above poem. Vikki's son Josh wrote that she passed on an auspicious day as it was Holi the Hindu celebration of colour, love, spring, renewal and rejuvination Vikki also has a son Finn. All three are a credit to her.
I met Vikki ten years ago, I was guided to her by another numerologist friend of mine Didier Boyer, also now in spirit. Vikki worked with me at the TJ and friends events and one thing we all remember about Vikki was she always gave you her time. Never rushed, created a space for you and was always there, even though sometimes she was going through so much herself
Vikki was an incredibly talented numerologist but also incredibly humble with it.
I feel blessed to have known her and not to have just worked with her, Vikki was a friend.I regularly had numerology readings with her, every year to see how my year would be, dates for my wedding, even how my new married name would change my energy and most recently to check the numerology of the name of the magazine.
I was so excited when she joined the Spiritual Lifestyle Team and we will sincerely miss her and her wisdom.
Vikki has gone on her journey with a soul filled with love. I am sure that she didn't realise how much she was loved and how many lives she touched. Rest in Peace beautiful Vikki TJ xx

Colleen Kersey
Hi animal lovers, I’m Colleen. I’m an animal communicator and I’m thrilled to be here to chat with your animal companions on your behalf.
I believe that every creature has a unique voice, and more importantly every creature should have the opportunity to be heard, whether that is sharing stories from their past, or sharing what they need from the present. Through translating what the animals have to say, I can help you to develop a deeper understanding and a stronger bond with your companions.I’m looking forward to hearing from you and uncovering the mysteries and joys of your animals, in each column.
Thank you for asking me to talk with Tigger. Tigger feels like she is a mature or elderly cat as she feels quite laid back, not very active and enjoys lazing around. She’s a very content animal, easy to please and enjoys lots of affection and personal time with her people. She much prefers warmer weather and has been fed up with the recent cooler weather and is looking forward to some sunny warmth. I know this is ‘typical cat’, but she’s showing me an image of her enjoying some sunshine, however, in this image, she’s still inside so it seems like she’s found a good spot in front of a window where she’s bathing in the sun’s warmth. Has there recently been some sort of loss in the family, either person or animal? She hides it well, but there’s a feel of grieving or missing someone or something, coming from her? Because of this, she feels a bit ‘needier’ than usual. Tigger used to enjoy lots of playtime activity and loved to jump around for her favourite toys but it seems like now she’s just happy to watch OTHERS being active as she enjoys a more chilled-out approach to life.
Does Tigger have a very specific meowing noise? I’m getting a sort of mumbling meowing noise that she makes that’s very distinct. She does this when she’s looking for attention or when dinner is late. And her time keeping is very accurate! She showed me an image of someone stroking her when she was sleeping, and she kind of makes this little trilling meow noise as she wakes up. She LOVES affection but this always startles her even though as soon as she wakes, she realises the act is done with love. She feels like she has a role in her life which is to do with her guardian, a lady. She feels she’s some sort of emotional support for this lady, the lady finds emotional comfort by Tigger being there. It’s a wonderful mutually beneficial relationship which she takes great pride in. Tigger doesn’t want for much in her life, she feels very content with her life and what it contains.

Beltane Celebrating the Joyous Arrival of Spring
As the warmth of spring brings a vibrant array of colours and renewed energy to the world, communities around the globe come together to honour the ancient festival of Beltane. Celebrated on May 1st in the Northern Hemisphere. Beltane marks the midpoint between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. This joyous occasion holds deep roots in Celtic traditions and offers an opportunity to embrace the beauty and fertility of the season. In this article, we will explore the significance, rituals, and symbolism associated with Beltane.
The Rejoice of Nature:
Beltane is a celebration of the earth awakening from its winter slumber, turning lush and green once again. It represents the life force and fertility of nature, as trees blossom, flowers bloom, and animals return from their hibernation. During this festival, communities come together to honour and express gratitude for the abundance of the earth's offerings. Rituals often involve dancing around maypoles, adorning oneself with floral crowns, and decorating homes with vibrant flowers as away of inviting the spirit of growth and vitality.
Fertility and Union:
A prominent theme during Beltane is the celebration of fertility and the union between the masculine and feminine aspects of life. This is the perfect time to honour the life-giving properties of the earth and embrace the sacredness of love and relationships. Couples may partake in handfasting ceremonies, which involve binding their hands together with ribbon or cord as a symbolic representation of their commitment. It is believed that during Beltane, the veil between the worlds is thin, allowing for increased connection and the possibility of creating new life, whether it be in the form of dreams, ideas, or physical conception.
Bonfires and Blessings:
One of the most iconic elements of Beltane celebrations is the lighting of bonfires. These bonfires symbolise purification and protection, allowing participants to release the remnants of winter and welcome the transformative energy of the season. People leap over the flames as a symbolic act of courage and renewal. It is a time to let go of negativity, embrace personal growth, and invite positive change into one's life. Additionally, the flames are believed to have protective properties, shielding the community and livestock from harm.
Honouring the Spirits:
Beltane also offers an opportunity to connect with the spiritual realm. Many believe that on this day, the veil between the human and spirit worlds is thin, allowing for easier communication with ancestors and spirit guides. Individuals may create altars or sacred spaces adorned with flowers, herbs, and ribbons to honour and invite the presence of benevolent spirits. This is an ideal time for meditation, divination, and seeking guidance from the unseen forces beyond our physical reality.
Beltane is a joyous celebration that welcomes the arrival of spring in all its glory. It is a time of growth, fertility, and renewed vitality. Through rituals, symbolic acts, and communal festivities, communities come together to honour the cycles of nature, embrace personal and spiritual transformation, and bask in the abundant blessings that surround them. Beltane serves as a reminder to align ourselves with the rhythms of life, to connect with our fellow beings, and to celebrate the unending cycle of birth, growth, and renewal.

PauseandReflect
Rachel Savory - Lifecoach
Can you believe it? We have reached the end of the first quarter of the year! It's a perfect time for you to pause, reflect, and see what you have learned about yourself so far. In this article, I invite you on an exercise that I personally love to do at this point in the year. Let's take a moment to pause, reflect, and eagerly envision the summer ahead. I know it can feel daunting, but I encourage you to be open to this process of self-discovery. Together, we will explore the power of past memories, delve into your emotions, and shape the next quarter of your life.
I’d like you to begin by immersing yourself in the memories of the past. Take out your phone and go to photos this time last year. Allow yourself to relive those moments captured in the photographs. As you do so, ask yourself:
How was I feeling during that time? What was I doing? How did I look? Pay attention to your emotions and the authenticity of your happiness in those moments. Remember, these photos and the memories you have written down perhaps in a journal, hold the key to unlocking your emotions and measuring your progress.
Now, let's dive deeper into self-reflection. This exercise will guide you in shaping the next quarter of your life. Take a moment to assess how you feel in the present moment. Have you truly moved forward? Are you content with the progress you have made? Identify the areas of your life where you still wish to improve or focus on. Go grab your favourite journal and start writing. Be honest with yourself as you answer these questions. Alternatively, if you feel comfortable, you can reach out to me and I can walk you through it. As you set your sights on the summer, reconnect with your true self, and explore what truly makes you come alive. What activities, adventures, or experiences are you eagerly anticipating?
For me, I can't wait to take my boys to a festival, go on a hiking retreat, and be part of a spiritual workshop or retreat. These experiences are new to me, but they ignite a sense of aliveness and excitement within me. Allow yourself to envision the summer that aligns with your deepest desires and reconnects you with your authentic self. By immersing yourself in past memories for a moment, honestly reflecting on your progress, and envisioning the experiences that make you come alive, you shape the next quarter of your life. Remember, this journey is unique to each of you, and I encourage you to be brave and honest in your exploration. Whether through writing in your journal or sharing your thoughts with me, embrace this opportunity for self-discovery and growth. Together, let's make this summer a transformative and spiritually fulfilling experience.

Spirit ThoughtsForgiveness?
p y go to mediums in the hope of a message from a loved one and for some comfort in their grief. It can be a disappointment at best, if not upsetting, if the spirit communicator is someone who was unpleasant, hurtful or even outright abusive to the recipient in physical life.
As a medium I cannot control who wishes to communicate, maybe others can, but I can only give here my own experiences. I have been surprised how frequently this experience happens during my practise and in demonstrations. I used to find these spirit communicators difficult to accept and would not continue if clearly unwelcome to the recipient who must always come first. In these cases, I believe you have to look deeper into the spirituality of mediumship. I do have certain beliefs and these have been reinforced through my experiences of these types of communications. I find it very hard to accept there is evil in the spirit world. Maybe I have been lucky or naive. I do believe, however, there are bad, even evil people, who were like that in the physical world and are now going through the recognition and atonement in spirit. That is not the ‘burn in hell’ as in Dante’sInferno or in the Biblical sense. Maybe stuck at a level of development that cannot, and will not progress until they have truly atoned for their actions in the physical world. It is understandable that a recipient could not forgive such a person whether living or in spirit. With the title of ‘Forgiveness’ I expect you will jump to the conclusion that I'm saying we should forgive them and that is why such communicators come through. I'm not. In fact, I do not believe you can if you think forgiving them is somehow releasing them from their purgatory. It is not in your power to release them, only they can do that through the genuine realisation and atonement for their actions in the physical world. To some extent we shall all have to go through some element of this. Hands up who believe they are perfect. My experiences, and usually a surprise to the recipient, of such spirit communicators is they are not coming to beg forgiveness. It is often the case the spirit communicator is painfully transparent in showing how they were and their behaviour to the extent I sometimes limit the full details shown to me by the communicator. It is understandable to then believe they were like that in life and now they show they are still like that. That can be a painful belief to a recipient. However, I have found that in nearly every case as soon as the recipient recognises the behaviour described the feelings of the communicator change to one of sorrow and grief. A grief over a wasted life and in the knowing of the pain they have caused. The change in feelings I get are quite profound. Some may disagree, and I understand, but I can only explain my experiences.
Only once have I experienced a communicator in spirt who was less than open as to their appalling behaviour in life and in this case I would not continue. Such communicators in spirit have to show how they truly were to be recognised. They want to show they recognise and feel the pain caused in life and being open in their communications is them bearing all and admitting to their actions. That is usually the main message they want to give and to say it was not ‘your fault’. No begging forgiveness, just a sorrow. Can you imagine that on your arrival or release, back to the spirit world where there is no time, and you get to see your whole physical life unravel. How you would feel upon realisation that you have not just wasted this wonderful opportunity we call life but have used it to cause so much pain. It is like they know it would not be accepted to express love or even simply to say sorry so they can move on. With this I find it hard to not say if you can forgive, even a little, then this compassion helps you as much as them. I would not pretend to know the journey of progression in the spirit world, or what else they may have to go through. We cannot understand their purpose in life or the pains caused. The concept or Principle of Retribution is one of Spiritualism. You do not have to follow Spiritualism as a formal religion but as a medium the feelings that I get from such communications are hard to ignore. As such, I would say that forgiving the actions in life maybe a step too far for many but forgiving the spirit person can only bring healing and release to the recipient. Allow those in the spirit world to express their regrets. Mediumship, whether giving or receiving, is about healing for all. This belief and experiences help me in my own outlook on life. I cannot admit to having such painful experiences as some have, but like all of us we come across those in life who are extremely materialistic, very unpleasant or even despicable in their physical life. Instead of hating or resenting these people I can feel sorry for them in the knowledge of what awaits them upon their realisation in the spirit world. To feel that grief and sadness of them through my mediumship has been a huge life learning for me. What I am sure of is that first, and foremost, you forgive yourself. This is the release of self and that such treatment can never be your fault. So, this title of ‘Forgiveness’ is about forgiving yourself. For those who can forgive those in spirit this speaks to their own spiritual strength. One of the more thorough studies undertaken on forgiveness was published by the Society of Behavioural Medicine in 2016 entitled ‘Forgiveness, stress and health’. This concluded that ‘greater forgiveness is associated with less stress and, in turn, better mental health’.
Or perhaps to finish with Nelson Mandela who stated that: ‘when a deep injury is done to us, we never heal until we forgive’.
John Selby
WHY DO WE CHOOSE TO MEET CERTAIN SOULS?
Andrew Keener
In my last article in March, I spoke briefly about the possibility that our feelings and habits in this life are connected to a previous life. Those inherent urges, needs and wants, deep within all of us lead us down a certain path, to enable us to continue in the discovering of our true nature through a soul experience. I spoke about what we might learn and the teachings we can gain from our past lives, and I tried to explain that past lives do not necessary mean something that happened in the past, but more of a continuation of the evolution of the soul, to know itself and its true nature. But why do we choose, (which I believe we do) to incarnate into what or who we do, or more importantly, and a more compelling question; why do we choose to meet other certain souls? The ones we interact with and hopefully learn from one another. People often ask me why would a soul choose to be born, only to suffer as a child, whether emotionally or physically, or worse still, die young? Some peoples’, (fanatically speaking) answer might be, well maybe you were not a very nice person in your previous life, and that is why you are being punished and suffering in this one. I would like to challenge this standpoint and remove the focus of punishment and the blame game to a position of a greater understanding, where there is no universal judge, delivering their verdict and sentencing someone to a lifetime of pain and suffering. From a different understanding, I would really like to think that what really happens in the reincarnation process and what its true purpose is, that it is designed to help one another for the higher good for each and every one of us. I would like to illustrate what I mean, and why I have come to a certain understanding, by sharing my own personal story. This will highlight my original thoughts before and after having my Astrological chart done, and the thought processes which led me to a greater understanding of who I am now and why I am living this lifetime experience. As a young child, growing up was very painful for me emotionally, as my mum and dad divorced when I was about 7 years old, due to my dad being an alcoholic. What hurt me the most was the feeling of not being loved or wanted by him, as there was no deliberate contact, Christmas and birthday presents, or the most important, no fatherly love or influence in my life. It left a deep void and hole in my soul, and I became very resentful of not just him, but also the hand that had been dealt with from God, (this was when I was young and I still believed God was a white bearded man sitting on a cloud) I thought, well isn’t this great, not only has my dad turned against me, God also felt it was okay for him to abandon me as well as my father. This led to a lot of emotional turmoil in my young life and a massive feeling of being hated and unloved.
At secondary school with my hormones all over the place, trying to find my way and purpose in life, I yearned for compliments to help me with my deflated self-image and ego. I found that I excelled in trampolining and my female gymnastics teacher would often praise me for all my hard work, and I was officially named the best trampolinist in school. This did wonders for my ego, and I had great pleasure in telling everyone, especially the girls, of how good I was. One of the aforementioned girls, (who I really liked) joined the after school trampolining club and this gave me the perfect opportunity to show off my skills. I was halfway through my tenth consecutive back somersault when I became dizzy and disorientated. The next thing I know I landed from a great height on my neck onto a crash mat. Health and safety were not so hot in the mid-80s as it is today, so I was encouraged by the teacher, if I was ‘okay’ to get up and carry on because she did not want me to lose any confidence for the upcoming assessments and exams. So, in some considerable pain, but still able to move I did what I was told and a few months later I passed my exams with flying colours, albeit with a painful neck injury, which I hoped would eventually go away, how wrong was I.
After leaving school I went to work at a spiritualist college for the advancement of Psychic science, called the Arthur Findlay College. I waited on tables and eventually became the head waiter. It was here that I met an Astrologer called Marcia Day. I paid to have my astrological chart done which would in detail tell me about what is happening in this life as well as what happened in a previous life.
I was amazed of how much she knew about me and my personality traits, especially because I had only just met her for the first time. It became even more amazing when she started telling me about my previous life and relating it to what I am experiencing in this life. She told me that I had been a high priest or religious figure that liked to dabble in the occult, all for personal gratification and gain, physically and materially. When living as this person, I manipulated people, especially women and sired lots of children, all of which I abandoned and did not want to know, because it would have stopped me in my carnal pursuits. This all ended abruptly when the church called me out and hailed me a Heretic, I was swiftly tried, judged and sentenced to death by hanging. I again reiterate here that the Astrologer had never met me before and did not know that I had come from a broken home, where my father had abandoned me, and she certainly did not know that I had sustained a neck injury at school. So, you can see why I was amazed how it all tied in with what I was experiencing in this life. All those children that did not have a father and overwhelmed by the feeling of abandonment, I was now feeling and experiencing what they had to endure, reliving all the feelings of anguish and resentment and to truly know their pain. The pain in my neck carried on for years after the chart reading, and I believe
that it served as a reminder of my actions during that previous life, if I ever should try and forget what I had done. They say that time is a great healer, I would agree if confined in this present lifetime, but I want to look beyond our present situation we find ourselves and look at the greater picture. As I stated earlier, for years I hated my father for abandoning me, but now looking with clearer eyes and a more loving heart, I maybe can see why he chose to be my father. It was maybe after my death as a high priest in the afterlife I was granted some time to reflect on my actions that had inflicted pain and hurt on those innocent, fatherless children. Maybe I was given a choice to stay where I was, or maybe I could return and live their experience to make amends. I had to find a soul that would be my father and who would be willing to abandon me for me to remember what I had done, and hopefully be forgiven. This soul that came forward to answer the call maybe had been abandoned by a father and needed me to be willing to be abandoned so he could experience or try and understand the reasons why his father had left him. The deal was done, a perfect match for a mutual beneficial learning experience; something born, and a connection made from love, not punishment, where we both could educate each other and help both parties understand why and what had previously been done to us, to understand who we truly are. So, from a beginning in this life of hurt, resentment, even hate, I have moved to a position of great love for my father; If I look at my life now and how much I love and respect myself, I can honestly say that without him choosing to be my father I would not be the man I am today. I have found an inner peace not only regarding him, but an inner peace with me and hopefully and other lifetimes, and in doing so I hope other souls that I have met on this eternal journey are at peace with me. Rochelle Karslake
Believe it or not, one of the Angels main purposes is to be there for us in a supportive role, holding space for us when were going through difficult times and emitting and infusing our energy with their loving frequencies of light, unconditional love and compassion.
However we can close ourselves off from fully receiving this when we are so connected to our fear or our pain, as these frequencies are polar opposites. When were in fear, energetically this is a really low / dense vibration, the Angels are existing on such a high frequency that they can’t always penetrate that energetic wall that we’ve put up, which is why we don’t always ‘feel’ them, but make no mistake, it does not mean they are not there. They are ALWAYS there, loving us unconditionally, continually encouraging us to allow them into our lives more fully to develop a closer connection, this is truly all they want. As I’ve mentioned before the Angels are in service to us, their very purpose in being is to help, love and support us no matter what. You don’t have to do anything to be worthy or deserving of them, simply by being means that you are.
So how can we connect with the Angels to allow healing into our lives? The need for healing isn’t exclusively within our physical body, such as pain, illness or dis-ease, it can be in any and all areas of our lives. Like our mental health, the narratives we have on replay in our mind about how we see ourselves and the world around us. The continual negative self talk we have on a loop all day about not feeling good enough etc. In our relationships with friends, family, partners and colleagues where we could be lacking in boundaries, or the strength to speak up for ourselves and say NO when that’s how we really feel. Including any toxic relationships or environments, finding the courage to disconnect from certain people, places or situations that are no longer serving us or for our highest good. Whilst still managing to find and have peace within the situation instead of holding onto hurt, pain and resentment through how we may have been treated. In all these spaces and places and anywhere else, every aspect of our lives that is not in alignment, the Angels can bring their beautiful healing energy into these areas and restore the balance and peace, we just have to be open to it and ask.
Remember to ask for help affirmatively, a beautiful prayer that I’ve found that’s worked incredibly in my life is:
‘Thank you Angels for reminding me that this ‘situation’, ‘circumstance’, ‘relationship’ (or what ever it may be) has already been resolved in the highest and best way for all concerned. And So It Is.’
Then hand it over. Remember time is not linear and the Angels will help us align with the highest solution there is. Know that there is always a solution to every problem, but we can struggle to find them on our own, especially when were holding onto pain or upset because it clouds our clarity and stops us from being able to see the highest truth. We can’t find healing in the same energy where the pain was created, so by handing it over to the Angels we are letting go of the need to control the situation and allowing ourselves to align with the energy where healing can come in. From here the Angels will help guide and encourage us towards the paths, choices and actions that we can take to bring about the perfect healing for the situation. They do this by encouraging us to connect back into our heart space. The more open your heart is the easier it will be to connect with the Angels. You can do this by simply taking a deep breath into your heart space and seeing it begin to open and expand. With intention place your consciousness in that space and then invite the angels IN. This is such a simple but profoundly powerful exercise that has helped me immensely in my life. In doing this practice the Angels have shown me that in truth ALL healing is the journey back to self love (back into our hearts) in all it’s many different disguises.
It’s from this space that we are connected to truth and unconditional love, when were in our heads were connected to fear and ego which can keep us in negative loops, cycles and relationships for years. I believe it’s from this space that we’re open and receptive to the highest healing solutions. The Angels have taught me that life is actually happening for us, not to us. When we shift our perspective to this, it instantly takes us out of the space of being the victim of the situation and back into a space of empowerment (where the healing can happen). That every situation is another opportunity to grow through, we were never meant to hold onto pain for the rest of our lives. Just to clarify this doesn’t mean that what ever you may have experienced wasn’t distressing or that you may have been treated awfully, that’s never ok and I take nothing away from you. But the Angels have taught me that we are not our stories and that we can be what ever we choose to become. That our circumstances don’t have to dictate how we feel, the Angels remind us that we ALWAYS have a choice. So in letting go of resentment and choosing forgiveness, it isn’t saying what happened to us is ok but instead it’s the gift we give to ourselves, and in doing so we set ourselves free.

The Simplicity of The Moment
There is only now. All we have is ourselves right now. All is now. We can choose to connect to the sanctuary and abundance within ourselves, or we can choose to connect to the struggle, to the fabricated fear, and the worry. We always have a choice. When we connect to the simplicity of self-love, this is where we find infinite peace. This is where we find calmness. This is where we find our knowing. Learning to love yourself in the moment will bring you peace. Learning to love yourself throughout your life will bring you great joy. The gift is you and accepting the gift is simplicity. Experience being present. If we dwell in a past that no longer contains joy, or if we only think of the future we don’t allow ourselves to be present, and we miss the opportunity for true understanding of what is needed to move our path forward.
Taking time to be without judgment and accepting ourselves will allow for a gradual understanding, and from this awareness we can see how far we have truly come. There is great joy in knowing who we are.
When you take time to be present, to be in the right now, you are accepting life as it is, you are accepting yourself as you are without past regrets and or future promises. When you are in the present, your senses are heightened, and your ability to simply notice the world around you becomes profound. When you are in the moment life is vivid and the connection to yourself, to the love that is you is unwavering. The answers to questions long pondered become clear.
Spending time in the present gives you the opportunity to worry less because the past and future are not happening in the moment. It's almost like taking a holiday. When you make room in your heart to enjoy the simple things in life, you become filled with gratitude. Allow yourself to be filled with appreciation. Begin to see how everything is intricate and woven together as one. The moment is filled with love. Whenever there is strife and struggle, try to step outside of that and come back to the present to ask yourself how you want to spend your energy. Do you want to involve yourself or remove yourself. It is in that moment of asking that you have returned to a peaceful mind which holds the quiet intuition within. When you come back to yourself, this is healing. This is as you are. You are beautiful. Love yourself and capture these moments of realisation by simply connecting to yourself and the divine love that is you. Do not postpone your happiness. We set ourselves up for disappointment, when we have thoughts of delaying happiness.
If we imagine that our life could only be better if we accomplished this or if we acquire that we perpetuate a path of self-deception. This maze of thought leads to endless mazes. It is in this moment that we must return to the love of ourselves to find our simple clarity within. When we give to ourselves the love that we wish for in the future and love that we never had in the past we open our hearts and gain the ability to feel the magic of an ordinary day. Do not postpone your life. Be happy now. Let joy be your guide. Try to simply live in the moment throughout the day. Take 5minutes, or even 3 minutes and stay present, not letting thoughts of the future or thoughts of the past enter your mind. When you do this, notice just how beautiful you are, how amazing your life is and all that surrounds you. It is so simple to acknowledge the beauty of the world as it is. Life will seem to stand still when you accept these moments. There's so much to appreciate. So much brilliance in every day. Connect to yourself and to the love that is you. Practice self-love, compassion, and understanding. These are the simple gifts that bring to us to our truth, to our path. The more we give love to ourselves the more profound our lives will be. When our hearts are whole it is easier to live without fear, without self-criticism. By being in the moment, we see that our hearts are meant to be full of love. Go for a walk and notice what's happening around you. Breathe in self-love. This is as I am. This is my life now. Here is my joy. Coming back to your true self is the moment you begin to heal.
Reflection on The Simplicity of The Moment
Being in the moment and loving myself is one of the hardest things I could ever do. Even though it's a seemingly easy thing to do, it's also hard. I don't think I know anything that simultaneously easy as it is hard. My mind is often working a mile a minute. I am in the future. I am in the past. I'm everywhere, all at once. And so, for me to slow down and stop worrying for even 10 minutes a day is a struggle. I really try to make a concerted effort to be in the moment so that I can trust myself, love myself, and have self-compassion. I have spent so many years not listening to myself that I feel like my intuition is like a little tiny quiet voice. It's getting louder, but it's still a practice for me to listen consistently. Often when I'm thinking about the future, I'm so excited that really all I am doing is focusing on my own willpower and sometimes that brings me things that are necessarily good for me. I don't hear that quiet voice inside that says things like you've done this before, or you might get hurt, or this might make you sick. I don't hear that when I'm all systems go, and I'm moving forward like a runaway train. I have gotten better over the years of being in the moment, but I still must consciously practice self-love and compassion daily trusting that the information I receive is truth. The more I allow my intuition to speak to me the more it says. My intuition helps me to feel grounded, to be connected to the earth. My decisions are more accurate when I start accepting the information that is given to me. The truth becomes easier to find when I take the time to ask how a particular decision really makes me feel.
When I ask how this decision will affect me, affect me now, and affect me in the future I let my body tell me a lot of what I feel. My body is often my first line of defence and when I listen I make better decisions because my body will react to negative situations negatively by making me feel sick or anxious or filled with worry. This is when I know I'm not aligned to my truth or to my joy. When I really allow myself to listen to what I am given accepting what my body is trying to tell me these are the moments that I have the most clarity. Before I know I am going to be around people that aren't exactly perfect for my life, I allow myself pause asking if this is the wayI want to spend my time. Do I want to spend my energy needlessly worrying about what they're thinking about me or my life choices. When I get caught in this whirlwind of indecision I try to take time out to be in the moment and come back to myself trusting that it is my opinion that matters most in my life. This is difficult but I am in the process. It does become easier the more I recognise myself, differentiating myself from somebody else's energy, creating boundaries, being grounded and being in the moment giving myself time to really understand situations and appreciate life, my life. The more I do this the more I discover who I am and what I need. The more I let myself be who I am and the more I love myself and the easier it is for me to accept and be grateful for the simple moments in my life.
When I am in the present moment I know that I am following my truth, and my highest good. Before any decision I make I just give myself plenty of time to feel. I focus on the question asking if it brings me joy, and I let go of worry, knowing that this, the simplicity of my intuition, will never lead me astray.

Seek & See with Tasha Lee Divination
The word “Divination” is taken from the Latin ‘divinare’ which is to foresee, predict etc. It is to attempt to gain insight via an occult practice. Throughout history different ‘tools of the trade’ have been used by ‘Diviners’ (Those who practise divination). Arguably, the most well-known of these are Tarot cards. They are not the only cards used to divine, however. The use of playing cards is known traditionally as Cartomancy. I am personally a Cartomancer because I read using playing cards, but in these more modern times it has become more common place to use the term of Cartomancy to describe the use of any type of card in divination. When it comes to reading cards there is what I call the “art” & the “science”. The “art” is using the image on the card (helps if you are using a scenic deck) / your intuition. The “science” is when you use the system of that particular card deck. So, for example, in the traditional Tarot system, there are 78 cards, broken down into the Major (Big) Arcana and the Minor (Little) Arcana (Arcana means secret or mystery). The Major Arcana has 22 cards (0-21) & the Minor Arcana has 56 Cards. These 56 cards are further broken down into 4 Suits (Swords, Wands, Pentacles and Cups). Each Suit has 14cards. These are made up of ‘Pip’ (number) cards 1-10, as well as ‘Court Cards’ of Page, Knight, Queen and King. All this together makes the 78 cards of a traditional Tarot deck. This is the system of traditional Tarot. If the deck has 55 cards, it’s not a Tarot deck. If the deck doesn’t have any Court cards, it’s not a Tarot deck and so on. All of these examples would be ‘Oracle’ decks, but not Tarot.
Gypsy and Kipper cards (to name just a couple), also have their own systems (& art). Most Oracle decks however don’t have a system and are read purely using the ‘art’. They range in number, style and theme. A Tarot Deck is a Tarot deck but can be read as an Oracle (outside of the system of Tarot). A Lenormand deck is a Lenormand deck but can be read outside of its system as an Oracle. However, if you are reading a Tarot or Lenormand deck outside of the particular deck’s system, you are no longer reading it as a Tarot or Lenormand, you are reading it as an Oracle, so technically you are not actually reading Tarot or Lenormand, even if that’s the deck you are using!
I personally love using charms to divine with. Charm casting is a symbolic, emblematic means of divination. It is a cleromancy divination ...A means by which a person casts charms in a specific area and then deciphers the meaning based on how and where they land. It's similar to other casting divination methods such as rune casting, bone casting or cubomancy {dice tossing}
There isn’t a confirmed “-mancy" name for charm casting, though I have noted that some people call it tricamancy, after the Latin word for baubles - tricae, or perlacimancy, after the Latin word for charm - perlacia. Most simply refer to it as Charm casting. Traditional, charm meaning are based on Tasseography (tea leaf reading - another love of mine), which are slightly different to other divination meanings. You can divine with pretty much anything (something I call ‘heuristic divination’). Most people at some point have looked up at the clouds and tried to discern the shapes. So, say for example you could see a bull in the clouds whilst you were drinking your morning coffee. If you were using the clouds as your ‘tool’ you could interpret that as you may have a clumsy day (bull in a China shop), so perhaps not the day to wear white! You may instead view the bull to be in a stance that looks like it’s going to charge, so instead you could interpret the bull as a sign not to be goaded into action that day. So just by looking into the sky and interpreting the shape you see you have given yourself a prediction / some guidance for the day. Using clouds in this manner is called Nephomancy. It doesn’t have to be clouds, I’ve been known to read my yogurt, cereal or toast, (depending on what I’m eating for my breakfast); as well as my tea or coffee in the morning! Next time you see a shape in your morning porridge or a shape in the clouds, give it go and try your hand at divining!
Wishing you all health, wealth and happiness

FINDING MY TRUE VOICE
THE MUSINGS OF A FORMER MUGGLE
Sue Pritchard
Whilst contemplating what to write about in this month’s column, I did stop for a moment and think: Wow! How did I get to be here writing alongside these amazing people?!
My mum and I first met TJ Higgs after one of her shows not long after my dad died, and TJ told us some remarkable things about him that were impossible for anyone else to know, leaving my poor muggle mind in a complete state of confusion. Nonetheless I was still quite reticent. I didn’t want my mum to simply believe everything she was told, especially as she was feeling vulnerable after being widowed.
“It’s okay,” I remember TJ telling me with a knowing look that unnerved me, as I feared she could read my mind. “I do understand,” she smiled. “You’re simply looking after your mum and that’s great.”
Although if TJ had told me back then that I’d go on to write a column in her spiritual magazine, I probably would have laughed out loud at such an absurd suggestion. But here I am.
And it’s got me thinking about how far I’ve travelled, not just over the past 14 years since my dad died, but over the past 18 months as I’ve written my first book. Prompted by a psychic who told me my dad would help to guide my writing journey, I’ve marvelled at how my awareness of spiritual signs has developed.
“Is it a sign?” I used to ask myself as my mum amassed an amazing collection of white fluffy feathers, that almost left a trail around the house after she lost her beloved husband. “Did that really happen?” I asked in disbelief when books fell at my feet or songs played on the radio at the right time, giving me inspiration for the thousands of words that have poured out of my heart and mind, and onto the pages of my book manuscript. These days the phrase “it must be a sign” has almost become a normal part of conversations with my family and friends. It was what my daughter uttered after circumstances conspired against her from entering a horse show for the third time. “It must be a sign that we’re simply not meant to compete there,” she told me. While a friend text to say hearing Madness’ song ‘Our House’ on the radio, as her son drove to the solicitors to sign contracts when buying his first home, must surely be a good sign too. “She’s showing her support and giving us a sign,” my friends and I agreed, when planning a walking adventure up Snowdon in Wales last year. One of our party was raising money for
charity in memory of her much loved and missed mother-in-law, whose birthday was coincidentally the same day we would be summiting the mountain. And upon reflection, I also think it was a wonderful sign that the day of my dad’s funeral in 2009 would have also been the same as his dad’s birthday.
So now, I am continually on the search for signs.
After being told to look out for rainbows as messages from my dad when I needed them, I was desperately searching for one on a dry sunny day, when attending hospital for what fortunately was a routine procedure in the end. At the time though, I was scared - and worried that the weather wasn’t going to be favourable for any rainbow displays.
“Oh wow,” I laughed, almost gulping back tears of relief as I stopped my car at a zebra crossing in the hospital grounds, letting a nurse walk across the road on her way to work.
As part of morale boosting efforts during the Covid pandemic, this pedestrian crossing had been repainted as the biggest and brightest rainbow ever.
And I do think that the Covid years helped to gradually open people’s eyes and minds to the more spiritual side of life. Members of my local community believe that, as a result, the spiritual lifestyle is almost experiencing a ‘coming out’, as people continue to look inwards for answers to questions about the meaning of life and death.
After speaking more openly with my friends, some of whom I’ve known for years have since confided that they work in collaboration with their higher self, or have had a spirit guide for most of their lives, or believe passed loved ones watch over them and send signs when they need them.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still met with the occasional shocked expression when admitting that my dead dad is the co-author of my book. This is sometimes accompanied with that slightly patronising phrase of: “If it’s what you believe and it brings you comfort, that’s all that matters”. But I do understand because it did take me a while to embrace this new spiritual way of thinking.
“I really don’t know what to believe now,” another friend commented after listening to me talk about signs, oracle cards, and the extraordinary phenomenon of tipping tables. “If someone else had told me all of this, I would have smiled politely and thought they were exaggerating,” he admitted. “But I trust you. You’ve no reason to tell me anything other than the truth. I’m so confused,” he said, looking genuinely perplexed.
As we often learn in life, we don’t really understand something until we’ve experienced it for ourselves. And 14 years after I started to become aware of it, I truly believe that magic isn’t just a privilege for those living in Harry Potter-type worlds, because we can all find that extra magic in our ordinary lives. It is there. We just have to open our eyes and dare to believe in it.

Kinesiology -
What is is and Why I do it?
Alison Peake
Newton’s third law states
‘For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’.
Systematic Kinesiology is a holistic therapy to keep the body in balance by recognising and correcting imbalances. Kinesiologists are trained to detect subtle variations in the structural, nutritional, emotional and electrical realms of the body before they can cause dis-ease.
If you put a frog into a pot of boiling water it will immediately attempt to climb out. But if you gently put it into a pot of cold water and turn the heat on low it will float there quite happily. As the water slowly heats up the frog will relax, like we do in a hot bath, and before long it will allow itself to boil to death without struggling. When things become unbearable in the body is often when holistic therapies are sought out, sometimes as a last resort to solve an issue.
Nine years ago I had a Spinal Cord Injury which changed my life completely. I had emergency spinal surgery at Kings College Hospital in London and rehabilitation at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Without warning I became a walking paraplegic and on enough prescription drugs to kill an elephant. I spent the first couple of years in a ‘morphine fog’ that wouldn’t clear and I slept so much that I became semi-nocturnal. The drugs didn’t stop the pain, they merely moved it to one side. You name it, I had been prescribed it plus additional medication to counter act the side effects of the pain killers. I began to drink more alcohol to try and make everything better – but it didn’t. The constant pain was excruciating and I wanted to try anything to get back to how I was before.
I read that floatation tanks can help with pain so I booked a session. This is where I met Annie Jenkins who ran the complementary clinic. She suggested that I try Kinesiology after my float session so I gave it a go.
Annie tested mostly my arm or leg muscles which sometimes made the muscle go weak and sometimes it would stay strong. She put pots of supplements or flower remedies
After a few years of having treatments I signed up to the Foundation Course – to fix myself and save some money rather than keep paying for treatments. I knew nothing about being a therapist and I wasn’t interested in being one as I was doing it purely for my own benefit. I was anxious having to practice on other people, especially as the course participants were massage therapists, reflexologists, other holistic therapists and an osteopath – I had worked part time paying invoices in a School Office!
I quickly settled in and on completion of the Foundation Course I had the bug for learning more. Soon I had qualifications in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, First Aid, Nutrition and signed up to do the Practitioner Diploma. The practical exam was the most terrifying thing that I’d done for years, but I passed and now I’m a real therapist!! I recommend that my clients have a treatment every six weeks and I still have regular appointments to keep myself balanced. I have gone from being totally devastated by my spinal cord injury to being able to accept it (mostly). I no longer take any painkilling drugs and I’ve given up alcohol which just happened rather than being intentional. I am still in constant pain but I deal with it much better now that I have a clear mind. I know my limits and regularly push them to the edge.
I work in Sussex, email me if you would like to book a treatment. Or to find your nearest Kinesiologist contact either the Kinesiology Association or The Association of Systematic Kinesiologists who will be able to put you in touch with a therapist near you.
Embracing the Magic of the Summer Solstice
As the earth tilts towards the sun, we find ourselves immersed in the enchanting and radiant season of summer. The summer solstice, also known as Midsummer, marks the longest day of the year when the sun reaches its highest position in the sky. Celebrated on June 21st, this ancient and sacred festival holds significance across cultures worldwide. In this article, we delve into the symbolism, rituals, and traditions surrounding the summer solstice, inviting you to embrace the magic and embrace the abundance of this special time.
The Power of Illumination: At the heart of the summer solstice lies the power of illumination. The sun, at its zenith, illuminates the world around us, casting its golden rays and infusing everything with warmth and light. This celestial phenomenon serves as a potent metaphor, reminding us to embrace our inner light, to shine forth with confidence and joy, and to bask in the abundance of life's blessings. The summer solstice beckons us to celebrate the triumph of the sun and to reflect upon our own personal growth and achievements.
Honouring Nature's Bounty: As the summer solstice heralds a time of abundance, it provides an opportunity to honour the gifts bestowed upon us by nature. The flourishing gardens, vibrant fields, and luscious fruits remind us of the earth's incredible fertility. Many people engage in rituals that involve harvesting herbs, collecting flowers, or simply spending time in nature, expressing gratitude for the abundance of life-giving energy that surrounds us. It is also a time for setting intentions for the coming months, embracing new opportunities, and cultivating an appreciation for the interconnectedness of all living beings.
Fire, Light, and Bonfires:
Fire has long been associated with the summer solstice, representing transformation, passion, and purification. Lighting bonfires or creating sacred fires ignites the festive atmosphere, providing a focal point for celebrations and communal gatherings. People often gather around these fires to engage in rituals, dances, and storytelling, fostering a sense of unity and connection. Jumping over the flames is believed to bring blessings and good fortune, while the smoke is said to carry wishes and intentions to the divine realm.
Sunrise and Sunset Rituals:
The summer solstice invites us to witness the majesty of the sun at its zenith and its descent into the horizon. Welcoming the morning sunrise or bidding farewell to the evening sunset with intention can be a deeply transformative experience. Many individuals choose to meditate, practice yoga, or perform healing sessions during these
sacred moments, aligning themselves with the energy of the sun and experiencing a profound connection to the cycles of nature. This introspective time opens the doorway to self-reflection and growth, allowing for the release of old patterns and the invitation of new beginnings.
Celebrating Joy and Connection:
Ultimately, the summer solstice is a celebration of joy, light, and connectedness. It encourages us to embrace the vibrant energy of the season, to gather with loved ones, and to infuse our lives with a zest for living. Festivals, music, dancing, and feasting are common ways to mark this joyous occasion. Communities come together to share laughter, create memories, and revel in the abundance of life. The summer solstice serves as a reminder to savour the simple pleasures, immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature, and foster deep connections that bring warmth and happiness to our lives.
As the sun reaches its zenith and blesses us with its radiant energy, the summer solstice provides a moment of reflection, celebration, and connection. It is a time to honour the triumph of light over darkness, to embrace our own inner brilliance, and to recognise the abundance that surrounds us. Through ancient rituals, communal gatherings, and personal introspection, we have the opportunity to align ourselves with the cycles of nature and invite the magic of the summer season into our lives. Let us celebrate the summer solstice with gratitude, joy, and a renewed appreciation for the splendour of life.
Here are several ways you can celebrate the solstice:
Sunrise or Sunset Gathering:
Witnessing the sunrise or sunset on the day of the summer solstice can be a powerful experience. Find a location with a clear view of the horizon and take the time to sit in quiet reflection or engage in a mindful meditation. This is an opportunity to express gratitude for the sun's energy and set intentions for the coming months.
Create an Altar:
Set up a sacred space or altar adorned with symbols of the sun, such as candles, bright flowers, and yellow or goldencoloured objects. This space can serve as a focal point for your solstice rituals, prayers, or intentions. Consider includin crystals associated with the sun, such as citrine or sunstone, and any other meaningful objects that resonate with you.
Outdoor Activities:
Take advantage of the longer daylight hours and spend time in nature. Organise a picnic with friends and family, go for a hike, or simply enjoy a leisurely walk in a nearby park or natural area. Use this time to connect with the elements and feel the sun's warmth on your skin.
Bonfire or Fire Ceremony:
Lighting a bonfire or participating in a fire ceremony is a traditional way to celebrate the summer solstice. Gather friends or loved ones around the fire, sharing stories, singing songs, or engaging in ceremonial practices to honour the sun's energy and set intentions for the coming season.
Plant a Garden or Tend to
Plants:
The summer solstice signifies abundance and fertility, making it an ideal time to connect with plants and the earth. Planting a garden or tending to your existing plants can be a meaningful celebration. Consider placing offerings of water, compost, or organic material near your plants to nourish and honour the growth they will bring.
Dance or Movement Rituals:
Embrace the energy and joy of the summer season through dance or movement rituals. Find a beautiful outdoor location or create a sacred space in your home where you can move freely. Dance, stretch, or engage in yoga or other forms of movement that feel natural to you. Allow yourself to let go, release any stagnant energy, and invite in the vitality and life force of the season.
Make Summer-inspired Crafts:
Engage your creativity by making crafts that reflect the energy of summer. Create floral crowns using fresh flowers or make sun catchers using colourful beads and crystals. You can also make sun-themed artwork, paint mandalas, or create a gratitude journal where you can jot down reflections and moments of appreciation during this season.
Remember, the most important aspect of celebrating the summer solstice is to connect with the energy of the sun, embrace the joy and vibrancy of the season, and express gratitude for the abundance of life. Choose activities that resonate with you and allow yourself to be present and open to the magic and blessings that surround you.

Short StoriesEmily and James
Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a lady named Emily. She was married to a kind-hearted man named James, and they shared a beautiful life together. They were inseparable and brought joy to everyone around them.
One fateful day, tragedy struck when James suddenly passed away due to a sudden illness. Emily was devastated by the loss of her beloved husband. Her heart shattered into a million pieces, and grief consumed her soul. She felt like a part of her had been ripped away, leaving her feeling lost and alone.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, but Emily's grief did not subside. She found it difficult to go on with her daily routine, as everything reminded her of James. The house they had built together now felt empty and cold.
Emily's friends and family tried their best to console her, but nothing could fill the void left by James's absence. She spent countless nights crying herself to sleep, longing for his comforting presence.
As time went on, Emily realised that she needed to find a way to heal and honour James's memory. She decided to channel her grief into something positive. She started a foundation in memory of her late husband, dedicated to helping those in need. This gave her a sense of purpose and allowed her to keep James's spirit alive.
Through the foundation, Emily met other individuals who had experienced similar losses. She formed a support group, where they could share their stories, offer solace, and provide a shoulder to lean on. Together, they found strength in their shared experiences and helped each other navigate the difficult journey of grief.
Emily also sought solace in nature. She would often take long walks in the park, breathing in the fresh air and finding peace amidst the beauty of the surroundings. The trees and flowers seemed to whisper words of encouragement, reminding her that life goes on, even in the face of loss.
As the years went by, Emily's grief slowly transformed into a bittersweet acceptance. She realised that while she would always miss James, she could still find joy in life. She cherished the memories they had created together and found comfort in knowing that he would always be a part of her.
Emily's story serves as a reminder that grief is a natural part of life. It is a painful journey, but with time, support, and self-discovery, it is possible to find healing and embrace life once again.
