The Pioneers

In the UK we are privileged to have so many Spiritualist churches and centres with an open freedom to practise Spiritualist beliefs, whether as a religion or as a Spiritist through mediumship This is not the case in just about every other country as simply not as widespread. We take this for granted without a thought for how this came about, or the efforts made by so many, often to their own detriment Even so, the act of mediumship is still, to this day, shunned by many in other religions and many of the public. I have personally been told that it is the work of the devil and that it will bring bad things to my family, and this from a practising religious person. So, we are not yet completely free from the many prejudices with many more willing to jump on any fake or poor mediumship to undermine the genuine practise, whether you follow Spiritualism as a religion or not.

This attitude towards communicating with Spirit goes back to Biblical times. Strange as most religions have an afterlife as their basis In fact, since the First Council of Nicaea in 325AD which established the modalities of the Catholic Church, and from which effectively banned mediums from taking services. While much history is lost from the Dark Ages, we know the Inquisition was established within the Catholic Church in the 12th century and sought to tackle blasphemy, witchcraft or any discussions beyond that taught by the Church

The history of this is far too long and perhaps too dark to discuss here The Inquisition was only abolished in the early 19th century. However, of the many thousands persecuted a couple of examples stand out as resistance to the attempt by the Church to quell any blasphemous behaviour or discussion outside their teachings Galileo (1564 – 1642), known as the father of observational astronomy, was kept under house arrest until his death in 1642 simply because he spoke out against the teaching that the Earth was the centre of the universe Or perhaps Joan of Arc (1412 – 1431) who became Head of the French Army that defeated the British at the age of 17. Refusing to deny that she took divine guidance given to her from voices in her head she was burned at the stake in 1431 at the age of 19. We must remember in the UK we had the Witchcraft Act of 1735 which led us into the challenges in the UK thereafter of those who stood up for their beliefs and practises. There are numerous stories surrounding the treatment of women who had been accused of witchcraft So now we roll forward to 1848 to what is considered the start of Modern Spiritualism This is known as the Hydesville event and the Fox sisters when intelligent responses, or rapping sounds, were given to questions as opposed to just random disturbances.

This is all well documented but suffice to say there was a virtual explosion of interest in communicating with the Spirit world via seances throughout the Eastern USA in the years that followed. Thereafter, Maria Hayden (1826 – 1883) came from America in 1852 as the first professional medium to work in England. You can imagine the press, clergy and Establishment being very antagonistic towards her The reputed interest in communicating with the afterlife by Queen Victoria was always kept quiet. Despite support from social reformers such as Robert Owen (1771-1858), founder of the cooperative movement, it was not until 1853 when David Richmond and David Weatherhead gave lectures and formed the first recognised Spiritualist Society in England that Spiritualism started to take a hold

in the UK. Together they also established the first Spiritualist newspaper. By 1870 the opening of societies throughout the UK took off despite the concerted efforts of those who tried to block it. Being fragmented, all with their own standards and teaching, the Movement was easily attacked. It took the likes of Emma Hardinge Britten (1823 to 1899) to bring them all together as the National Federation of Spiritualists. She was also co-founder of the journal, ‘The Two Worlds’, that became a major publication and flew directly in the face of the negative press After various iterations this Federation evolved into the Spiritualist National Union in 1901 that is known today with over 300 affiliated Spiritualist Churches in the UK

With the continuing opposition from the Church and the Establishment we then must look at those society figures who put their own credibility at risk in their support of the growing Spiritualist Movement. This included the practise of mediumship as evidence of the key belief in Spiritualism of life continuing after physical death. No other religion, that requires only a blind faith and scriptures, provides such evidence that good mediumship provides It is then time to enter the roles of the likes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 – 1930) who publicly aligned himself as a Spiritualist. This became his life mission. Conan Doyles assistant, Ernest Oaten, in 1916 began a campaign of lobbying for change in the law due to the number of mediums being prosecuted under the Vacancies Act 1824 (it was easier to prosecute under this Act than the Witchcraft Act 1735). Further respected establishment figures came out in support Hannen Swaffer (1879 – 1962), author, journalist and socialists shocked society in going public. The Spiritualist Movement really moved forward in the 1930-40s following the war with the likes of Estelle Roberts and Helen Hughes demonstrating to MP's in the Houses of Parliament. These are the ladies who could fill the Albert Hall with their demonstrations of mediumship These demonstrations would be chaired by Establishment figures such as Air Chief Marshall Sir Hugh Dowding (1882 to 1970), former Head of the RAF, who became a stalwart supporter in 1943.

A major point was reached in 1951 when the Fraudulent Mediums Act 1951 repealed the Witchcraft Act 1735 and excluded mediums from prosecution under the Vagrancy Act 1824. Remember it was Helen Duncan (1897 – 1956) who was the last person imprisoned for her mediumship in 1944 (reportedly visited in prison by Sir Winston Churchill) Helen died in 1956 it is said from the shock of a violent police raid during a trance seance. There is not space to explain the many others that played important roles in standing up for Spiritualism in the face of mockery William T Stead, a huge journalist and major newspaper owner, (went down with the Titanic), Margery Crandon, described as the most tested medium by the likes of Houdini or Arthur Findlay, MP and industrialist, donating his beloved Stanstead Hall to become the Arthur Findlay College known by so many today. The Movement continued to flourish under the leadership of Gordon Higginson (1918 – 1993), still known to some today.

So, it is with this long history of people putting themselves, their careers and society positions at risk with their belief in Spiritualism, including the practise of giving evidence of survival through mediumship, that we need to remember today. To remember whenever we witness fake or poor mediumship driven by ego that is too often seen today. Spiritualist Churches are under threat of closure with dwindling attendance, a case of use them or lose them!

In my profession as a Hypnotherapist and more importantly specialising in a past life regression, I have come across, and have had great insights into my clients past lives In one way or another they all have been very special and unique There is however one client whose experience sticks in my mind, and made a long lasting impression on my mind She came to me very sad and suffering desperately with depression; She had tried countless visits to a counsellor and was relying heavily on antidepressants We had the initial half hour consultation, where it revealed that she was often feeling suicidal. I enquired on her circumstances to try and get a better picture of what might be causing these damaging thoughts. She explained to me, that it was difficult to understand and explain, because an outsider looking in would think that she had an almost perfect life. A very loving husband and three beautiful, healthy children and money was not an issue; in truth there was nothing to feel suicidal about She went on to explain that most mornings she would wake up with an underlying feeling of fear and dread and more significantly, she simply felt that she did not deserve to be alive. She believed low self esteem was the root cause and it was getting in her way of receiving any kind of happiness, and she did not deserve the things she had in her life.

We went on to discuss her relationships with her husband and children, which was, in her own words, very good, constant arguments surrounding the amo of excessive money she was spending unnecessarily on them. Jumpers in the summer, for her son, or lots items bought for the house when there were copious amounts already. The biggest arguments happened

when no one was allowed to leave the dinner table till their plates were clean, or all the food finished

At this point she started to cry and said, when this happens her children would sometimes say, “I hate you. Or life would be so much easier if you were not around ” I could sense her frustration at being berated for trying to do the right thing in her eyes, because her actions were only receiving anger and hurt She even asked me, “Is it possible to care too much?”

I answered, well put it this way, we all have our own unique idea and definition of what care looks like and how much we are willing or think we need to receive

The main message I got from the consultation was the fact, she felt she did not deserve to be alive and about 3 or 4 times she made a statement, which I took note of, which was “I think that this world would be better without me in it.” We finished the consultation and asked her to clarify whether she really wanted to go through the past life regression, given her state of mind and suicidal thoughts. She answered yes and said something very telling and compelling, and that was, she did not believe that the suicidal thoughts were her own. Even though the thoughts were commonplace in her mind, and greatly effecting her emotionally, she really did believe they were not of her own making. She promptly went on to reassure me that although she had the thoughts, she did not think she could ever be brave enough to carry it out. The only reason why she was there to see me was to try and help her understand the reasons why she was feeling the way she was, and stop the relentless thoughts that were so damaging her quality of life. We agreed to go ahead with the proviso, that if it was too much for emotionally or mentally we would stop. To my relief I saw the first glimpse of a smile when I said, “right shall we begin?”

The induction into the hypnotic state for her came quite easy given her anxious and nervous disposition, but with the right technique and a few reassuring words I had her peacefully calm and relaxed. I proceeded to regress her back in this lifetime all the way to the door that exited this life and entered into past lives

Feeling satisfied she was ready to begin, I asked her if she could see, hear, smell, or feel anything, there was a brief pause and silence, then her face contorted and she looked like she was turning her head away from something. I prompted her and asked her, what is happening? Again a pause, then she spoke. It’s the smell, it’s horrible. She then narrated that she could smell rotting dampness, black mould was all over the net curtains, bedding and all over the walls and furniture. She told me that she felt she was living in a poor part of London during the Victorian era Few more details were related to me which I documented relevant to what she was experiencing, then came a long pause in proceedings as I let her energy do what it needed to do Going on my intuition I felt it was right to ask her again, do you feel anything else? This was a real energetic shift and a special moment, that to this day I will never forget Her face once again contorted, her shoulders lowered and the energy in the room changed She started sobbing like a child and prompted me to inquire, who have we here? Rosie came a very timid response, in a childlike voice. I greeted her and asked her, why she was making herself known, she coughed weakly and told me she was at home in bed, not very well at all. The reason why she was not well was because of all the dampness and not eating properly She went on to say that the reason why she had not been eating was because her family were poor and she could see her mum suffering, by having less food than everyone else This is when she had decided to make the decision to eat less, sometimes nothing at all, in order for her to die, so there would be one less mouth to feed, and in doing so her mother and father could eat better and become healthy again. She said she was so sad of seeing others suffering and wanted it all to end and everyone to be okay, and it was in her power to make that happen. A few more details were exchanged and with my intuition guiding me, I decided to ask Rosie to slightly step back in my clients consciousness, not entirely but enough to allow my client to raise her awareness to a point where the two can meet in the middle. I then instructed my client to take Rosie by the hand and show her the life she was living now, with the big house, a loving family and enough money to be comfortable. I did this because I wanted Rosie to witness that everything in the clients life was okay, there was no danger of starvation, or anyone in ill health and the client needed to be released to live and control her own life. This was a game changer and a defining moment as again I felt a real shift in my clients energetic field. The client started really sobbing leading me to ask if she was okay, my clients voice had returned and told me she was crying tears of joy, not sadness because she was hugging Rosie and Rosie was responding in kind. I decided to pause in my conversation in order to let them both have and feel their moment of two lives and two timelines finally coming together in a

single and definitive moment of mutual understanding. After a while the client said a quiet goodbye, to what I assume was Rosie and let out a big sigh This was my cue to bring her back in the room and back to a fully conscious state. In the debrief she said it was an amazing experience and did not believe it could have been possible to see and feel such things. She explained that the feeling of dread had dissipated and she felt much lighter, energetically She now knew and understood the reasons why she questioned the suicidal thoughts in her head, which she now believed had come from the little girl, who was unwittingly trying to continue and carry out her selfless act of heroism of sacrificing herself to save the family

Everything now was adding up and coming together in my clients mind, there was finally an answer for the reasons why she was doing the things she was in this life All that over protectiveness andforcing everyone to eat was continuing as an energetic resonance in the clients mind Maybe the power exchange released when Rosie let herself die at such a young age influenced the clients energetic field so much it was interfering so much so, it was detrimental and not conducive for the client to live a full and functional life. That defining moment when they met each other for the very first time and energetically shared their separate, but joined co existence, bought together by a mutual struggle led to the spark for a greater understanding, where they both could finally be at peace, Rosie in the past and the client at peace in this life. I am still in touch with the client and in my last correspondence with her she told me that she is no longer on antidepressants and living a happy life, and looking forward to an exciting future.

Celebrating Lammas: A Harvest Festival of Abundance and Gratitude

Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh, is a festival that marks the first of the three harvest festivals in the Wheel of the Year. Celebrated on August 1st in the Northern Hemisphere, Lammas is a time to give thanks for the abundance of the first harvest, as well as to prepare for the coming autumn and winter months.

The origins of Lammas can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Lughnasadh, which honored the Celtic sun god Lugh. It was a time of feasting, games, and gatherings to celebrate the grain harvest. One of the key traditions of Lammas is the baking of a special loaf of bread known as the Lammas loaf or the "harvest loaf." The sharing of the bread represents community and gratitude for the abundance of the harvest

Another common tradition of Lammas is the crafting of corn dolls or corn husk figures, symbolising the spirit of the grain harvest These dolls are often placed on the dinner table as a centrepiece or hung in homes as decorations.

1 Find a quiet and sacred space where you feel comfortable and can focus on setting your intentions. This could be indoors or outdoors, wherever you feel connected to your inner self.

2. Begin by lighting the candle and incense or sage to cleanse the energy around you and create a sacred atmosphere

3. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and ground your energy. Feel yourself becoming present in the moment.

4 Write down your intentions on the piece of paper or journal Be clear and specific about what you want to manifest in your life. For example, you could write, "I intend to invite more love, abundance, and joy into my life "

5. After setting your intentions, take a moment to reflect on what you are ready to release Write down anything that no longer serves you or holds you back from achieving your goals.

6. Hold the paper with your intentions and release in your hands and speak your intentions out loud. Visualize yourself letting go of what no longer serves you and opening yourself up to receive positive energies

7 Sit quietly for a few moments, feeling the energy shift within you as you release the old and welcome in the new.

8. If you have any crystals or special items, place them around the candle as symbols of your intentions and positive energy.

9. Close the ceremony by giving thanks to the universe, your guides, or any higher power you believe in for supporting you on your journey.

10. Blow out the candle, signifying the end of the ceremony, but knowing that the positive energies you have called in will continue to work in your life

Remember to revisit your intentions regularly, stay open to receiving the positive energies around you, and trust in the process. Trust that you are aligning yourself with the energy of manifestation and allowing positive changes to unfold in your life Trust and have faith in the power of your intentions Enjoy the process! TJ Xx

When you are in a state of joy your intuition is clear Joy will allow your body to release stress. Laughter ignites your vitality, your essence. Laughter from the heart is pure joy The more you can find things in life that spark your joy the more relaxed you become. When you are calm, inspiration, clarity, and love can guide you Permit yourself to receive love Slow down and notice how beautiful your life is, how beautiful you are.

Listen to a song that you love Take a walk in a place that brings you peace Smile at yourself when you look in the mirror. Know how capable you are to love and be loved

Often we grow rigid as adults, losing the ability to play, the ability to be light. We forget about our sense of discovery We get trapped and bound by responsibilities, both those that we make and those that are placed upon us. Our inflexible state of mind is consumed by our endless need to accomplish When we continue down this path we forgo any fun, any lightheartedness. We create a life completely void of ourselves.

Take the time to enjoy your life as you are creating it. Establish space for yourself to allow for a lightness of heart. Try to be a little more agile and gentle in your approach. Unlock your opportunity for self healing and for receiving love. This is a chance to catch your life before it becomes unrecognizable. You always have this potential. Find pleasure in the mundane with a buoyancy of heart. Be spontaneous like the child within you, within us all. Relax and soften in the joy of life. It is a celebration of you. Take this time to embrace enthusiasm.

Often we don't allow ourselves to experience fulfilment because we think we don't deserve it. The positive energy and joy that you create is the strength of us all. The more you love yourself the more able you become. Joy is contagious as it expands. We reflect your joy and your happiness, your sorrow and grief. We reflect you. What you believe is what will happen. Believe that you are loved.

Do not be afraid to make mistakes and try again another way. Being brave is how you learn to experience the clarity to find what you truly desire, to find yourself. Step out into the uncomfortable, you have the power to change your life

If in life there was great trauma there was also an innocent wisdom contained within you which offered the possibility to reach for something that was beyond the hurt, something where your imagination, and love were sparked, where you could find joy and hold onto it, no matter how fleeting Even now when you feel that you have lost contact with that sweetness remember that you still have within yourself a wisdom, no matter what kind of life you have lived. Trust in yourself.

Foster curiosity, fearlessly move towards change and challenges Find clarity within your wisdom. Be inquisitive about your life, about the world, about your heart Try not to take yourself so seriously, lighten up, let the joy fill you with love. Carry forward these moments, and if you can make them last longer your life will expand into pathways that you have yet to explore

Do not be afraid to act youthfully with imagination and curiosity. Try new things Take moments for yourself, to be childlike It is okay to not have it all figured out. Try not to control everything. When we don't have all the answers we allow space for amazement. We allow for love to happen. We allow for our lives to begin again.

The minute we think we know everything, is the minute we lose our connection to ourselves, to our joy. If we can surrender to not knowing we can then allow for trust and love to come into our lives.

Curiosity is the open door to being carefree, to being childlike, to being youthful. Let life happen. Accept yourself without judgement. Your very life force will be regenerated when you empower yourself to let go and have fun. Relax, loosen up the sun is shining on your path!

My Reflections On : Being Carefree

When circumstances in my life start to be too serious the need for equilibrium becomes paramount It is important for me to balance what my mind thinks and what my heart feels. I need to listen to my heart and ask if the current situation that I perceive as serious is important in the larger view, and even if it is, which it often isn't, I still need to allow for space to breathe. It is in that space that I remind myself that there are many ways to be in a situation. I can be completely stressed out and worried or I can approach this scenario thoughtfully, asking if there is something to be learned. Is there a place in all the seriousness to be carefree, to find joy?

By taking time to feel, I see that there's so much more to what I'm doing than the actual task. I become more inquisitive, stretching beyond what I thought was possible This perception moves me away from being too narrow It becomes a clear path to go into the parts that are dark and provide light. The more relaxed I am the more clarity I have It is hard for me to release tension because control is a huge issue for me. My childhood was a place that was so very out of control. Letting go, relaxing, and allowing for positive things to happen is a process that I work on Channeling the article Carefree, inspired me to wonder what makes me feel carefree The answer I came up with is being joyful It's finding joy in daily activities, no matter how mundane. When I put this into practice I feel encouraged and empowered.

Accepting myself, without judgment, allows for enjoyment It's an ongoing practice to trust. I work tirelessly at this because it is a gorgeous cycle of giving and receiving By letting go of the outcome that I thought I would experience, and letting the fun of exploration take over, I can bring joy into my life. I continue to try to be as I am intended with a lightness of heart.

I practice every day listening to that beautiful wisdom within that encourages me to be who I am It allows me to trust that I am worthy of love, and to have compassion. It doesn't happen in an instant. It's a constant exercise but everyday day I get a little closer to myself, to my own joy, and every day I try a little harder to let go and just be carefree.

The Joyful Celebration of Obon in Japan

In Japan, the vibrant and heartfelt celebration of Obon holds a special place in the hearts of the Japanese people. This traditional festival, also known as Bon, is a time to honour and remember one's ancestors, seek their blessings, and come together as a community to pay respects to those who have passed on. Obon typically takes place in mid-August and lasts for several days, with each region in Japan putting its own unique spin on the festivities. The origins of Obon can be traced back to Buddhism and the story of Mokuren, a disciple of Buddha, who discovered that his deceased mother was suffering in the realm of hungry ghosts. Moved by her plight, Mokuren sought the guidance of Buddha, who advised him to offer prayers and make offerings to bring peace to his mother's spirit This act of filial piety became the foundation of Obon, a time for families to come together to honour and remember their ancestors.

One of the most iconic features of Obon is the Obon dance, also known as Bon Odori. This lively and rhythmic dance is performed to traditional music, often played on drums and flutes, and involves graceful movements that symbolise joy and gratitude. Communities gather in open spaces, such as temple parks, adorned with colourful lanterns and decoratio creating a festive atmosphere that is both reverent a celebratory. People of all ages, dressed in yukata (light cotton kimono), join in the dance, following the passed down through generations.

Another central aspect of Obon is the practice of visiting ancestral graves to clean and decorate them, as well as to offer food and incense to the spirits of the departed. This act of remembrance is believed to bring comfort to the ancestors and strengthen the bonds between the living and the dead. Oftentimes, families also set up altars in their homes with offerings of fruits, rice, and sake to welcome the spirits of their ancestors during Obon.

In addition to the cultural and religious aspects of Obon, the festival also serves as a time for community bonding and coming together to enjoy various traditional activities and games. From delicious street food vendors serving up summer favourites like shaved ice and grilled skewers to colourful paper lantern processions and taiko drum performances, there is no shortage of joyous festivities to partake in during Obon

The Archangels, The Archeia & The 7 Rays RochelleKarslake

The Angels are all around us, even when we are completely unaware No matter what’s going on in our lives, what emotional state we may be in, they are always there and never leave us, not even for a second!

They also know how to show up for us and within the right energy that we need to best be supported, in any given moment. Whether it’s strength or nurturing, protection, or compassion, they will be there, emitting their loving frequency onto us and our space.

The Angels are androgynous, meaning they are neither male nor female. At their very core essence they are divine light, a frequency of unconditional love

Sometimes though, if they do present themselves to us, whether in an open vision or in our minds eye, they may take on the appearance of looking male or female

This is purely for us as they show up in a way that is within keeping of our expectation, but also on the vibration in which we need.

Having said that, although the Angels have no gender, they do embody the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine energy signatures within their vibration. This is because they are in perfect alignment with the Yin and Yang and both of these energies are needed for perfect balance.

Each Archangel you may be familiar with such as Archangel Michael, Archangel Gabriel, Archangel Raphael etc all have a ‘Twin Flame’ energy. This is the Divine Feminine counterpart of all that they embody. Although technically not separate, they may at times present themselves separately depending on what we need

The female Archangels are known as the Archeia, they create balance by representing the same attributes but through the feminine energies. These attributes are definitive to each stream of consciousness that each Archangel and their Divine Feminine aspect reside within. These are known as Rays, there are seven Rays These are seven currents of Divine light and love as energy, emitting from the Creator They are aspects and qualities that the Archangels and Archeia embody as each set of Twin Flames is assigned to oversee a particular Ray

The first Ray is overseen by Archangel Michael and Archeia Faith. The colour of this Ray is blue which connects to the frequency of truth and the Throat Chakra.

Archangel Michael is a warrior and is often seen with his sword of righteousness. Archangel Michael and Archeia Faith work on the vibration of Divine will, power, strength, and protection Archangel Michael can help us feel safe and protected in times of fear, Archeia Faith will too, but she will also encourage us to connect with why we felt fear in the first place

The second Ray is overseen by Archangel Jophiel and Archeia Christine. The Musings of a Former Muggle

SuePritchard

Time seems to fast forward whenever there’s a deadline looming on the horizon, and this issue’s column whizzed around much sooner than expected. Beginning to panic, the muggle within me wondered what on earth I could write about, but then looking to my bookshelf I knew I had the answer. Shuffling through a pack of oracle cards, I picked one for some inspiration, and without even needing to look at the printed message, it fired my imagination into action as a beautiful peacock strutted its glorious plumage before my eyes

A few weeks ago, after reading a book about signs from the universe, I started asking for more specific signs to pacify my inner muggle The book encouraged readers to request something a little more out of the ordinary and knowing that robins have been my constant companion over the past few years, I set my intentions on peacocks instead.

As a menopausal woman whose memory isn’t always the best, I do often forget what I’ve asked for and was quite surprised about a week later, when we drove past the most magnificent white peacock perched on a garden gate

“Oh my god, did you see that?” I almost screeched at my husband. And of course, as we drove back to sneak another glimpse, he didn’t see it, but did try to convince me it was a white tarpaulin lying in the garden instead.

But I knew what I’d seen. This was more than an answer to my call for signs. After consulting with Google, I think it was spiritually symbolic of my developing beliefs too

And then, just like buses, the peacocks kept coming. My daughter sent me photos of her horse bravely trotting past a massive peacock when out hacking, and when walking the dog along our usual route, I spotted a beautiful peacock mural on someone’s garden wall I hadn’t noticed before. This peacock oracle card also prompted memories of a recent psychic workshop I’d attended. Believing I’m still very much a beginner, I often feel out of my depth at such events. When asked that day to give our partners a reading using the rather unusual prompt of bird feathers, I felt the panic begin to well

However, mesmerised by the beautiful colours and almost symbolic all-seeing eye on the peacock feather in my hand, I put my trust in the words that fell from my mouth, and managed to come up with a poignant reading for my patient and encouraging partner

I spent another day trying to hone my intuition at a different workshop, and once again gulped down an anxious lump in my throat, as we were encouraged to give readings to people we’d never met before After meditating to try and open our spiritual portals, all I could think about was my nan who’d died over 30 years ago – which was quite surprising as I’ve honestly not thought about her much before. But then whilst staring into oblivion, as I tried to work out what on earth I could say to the lady waiting expectantly before me, I simply started to describe my nan Instead of looking confused, as I thought she would, my partner almost gasped out loud as she couldn’t believe I was portraying her mum so accurately.

The first time I tried to read someone psychically, my mouth was probably gaping wide open in amazement. I often feel the patient person who partners me in such an exercise gets shortchanged, but nonetheless always appears to be encouraging, urging me to say whatever is in my head – no matter how weird it may sound

“I don’t know what to say,” I’d said nervously that morning, with my blank mind almost screaming at me in frustration. “I feel a bit constipated in the head,” I laughed, completely perplexed as to why I’d use such an unusual phrase “Well, that’s interesting,” my partner replied. “I’ve recently had major bowel surgery!”

“Oh wow,” is my usual response when faced with some of life’s more inexplicable moments Encouraged by this, I went on to mention the slight twinge I began to feel in my right shoulder. “That’s strange though,” I remarked. “I usually have the odd niggle in my left shoulder where I damaged my rotator cuff several years ago ”

“Well, would you believe it?” my partner smiled at me like a proud parent again. “I’m seeing a consultant tomorrow about having an operation on my right rotator cuff ”

And as I started giving my new psychic pal advice about how massage therapy helped to manage my injury, sparing me from having a similar operation, my spiritual curiosity began to take hold, steering my life off into a direction I would never have anticipated before.

Regardless of whether we think we’re a natural or not, we all have these psychic abilities. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve sent a text to my mum, at the same time as her text pings across to me. And phoning a family member before I sat down to write this, I wished them happy birthday, apologising in case their card had arrived late.

“That’s so weird,” my sister-in-law laughed “I can’t believe the postman has just delivered your card as I was answering the phone to you.”

Sign Language: How to Ask for Signs

The spirit world is around us all the time. We can ask it for help and guidance at any time by asking for a sign and we will get an answer. But we must use this link to the afterlife carefully. It is not something to be wasted on trivial matters, or used like a free advice line.

You would not, for instance, put out a request for a sign to help you decide which coat to buy in the January sales. And you would not ask for a sign to show you what to have for dinner that night. Think carefully before you ask.

Divination & Numerology

Numerology is the occult or mystical significance of numbers. It is also the study of the numerical value, via an alphanumeric system, of the letters in words and names (This particular branch of Numerology is called Gematria) Numerology is one of the divination methods that is considered to not require any psychic abilities. (Depending on how you are using the numbers, of course). Numbers can be used to interpret a person's character traits or to divine the future.

Numerology was traditionally known as Arithmancy If you’re a Harry Potter Fan, Arithmancy was featured as one of Hermione's favourite subjects at Hogwarts, as a branch of magic involving the study of the magical properties of numbers. In the time of Ancient Greece, Arithmancy was used as a form of divination, with anyone who practised it using numbers to assign value to a word or phrase (Gematria). Then, using that particular value to uncover the future, and sometimes to redirect or change it!

Western Numerology can be traced back to Pythagoras (570–490 BCE), Chaldean Numerology can be traced back to the Chaldeans and Babylonians (2300-900 BCE), Indian Numerology can be traced back to the oldest Vedas (1500–1200 BCE), and Chinese Numerology via the I Ching (1000–750 BC).

Pythagoras, an ancient Ionian Greek philosopher, is known as the father of Numerology, because theoretically, Western Numerology is based on the Pythagorean idea that all things can be expressed in numerical terms because they are ultimately all reducible to numbers.

Numerology plays a part in most of the ways I div a Tibetan Bon Astrologer, I use numerology when looking at people’s charts, showing me character as well as life path and cycles a person will have encounter. (To name just a few ways Numerology in a chart) Tibetan Bon Astrology uses aspects o Chinese (Tao) Astrology, as well as the I Ching an (Vedic) Astrology (& therefore by proxy numerolo there too). For obvious reasons Numerology is used in dice divination, (cubomancy) The particular type of dice divination I use as a Tibetan Bon Astrologer is called ‘Mo’ and is based on a combination of Tibetan Numerology, Bon teachings, and specific divination texts As a Tarot professional, I use Numerology in relation to the Tarot. In Tarot there are multiple Numerology correspondences that can be used, from the standard to the Kabbalistic, indeed some decks even feature the Tree of Life. Kabbalists believe that all of life is a manifestation of the numbers 1 to 10, so it’s a very nice fit to adapt the numbers of the Tarot with Kabbalist interpretation.

en me already use Numerology ith Tarot when I talked about 2024 and how this related to the Justice and nd how this might reflect collectively nuary’s Issue This same alculation can also be applied to us e can see what our personal year be further broken down into personal d even hours)! I personally use this pointments There are certain days and where I won’t schedule readings

Another way I like to use Numerology is by taking the numbers that people have in their everyday life; house number, lucky number, national insurance number, telephone number (work, home, and cell) … The list of numbers that feature in your life are endless, as are ways to use them in divination! Perhaps, that’s why numbers are often referred to as ‘divine’ or ‘magic’?

To me Numerology is a secret or encoded language that I’m fluent in. But like all languages, you don’t have to be fluent to ‘get by’. Most people notice ‘Angel Numbers’. That is repeated numbers like 222, or 333. in Numerology, repeating numbers are known as ‘Master Numbers’, with 11, 22 & 33 being the ones most commonly referred to. There are systems that people have come up with to interpret these numbers, but in my experience ‘Angel’ & ‘Master’ Numbers’ meanings actually correspond with each other. Sometimes people find a specific number ‘stalks’ them. For years I was stalked by the number 23 Turns out, that this was my husband (via his name in Gematria). So next time you find yourself seeing the same number ‘stalking’ you whether it’s an ‘Angel’ Number or a standard number, pay attention because you’re being given the equivalent of a message written in invisible ink!

As always, wishing you health, wealth & happiness.

KINESIOLOGY: Treating the structural body

AlisonPeake

Worry, rising prices, family issues and world conflict are part of our lives We are conditioned to believe that ill health is expected throughout life and decline with age is inevitable. The multi-national companies making vast profits from selfmedication want you to believe it If our underlying beliefs are negative, then negative results are more likely. Age is not an excuse for aches and pains. A positive attitude produces positive results Kinesiology is a holistic preventative therapy Kinesiologists look at the body as a whole working with the structural, nutritional, emotional and electrical realms. By using special finger modes while testing we can tell where the imbalances lie As with other therapies Kinesiology does not always produce a quick fix, something that has taken many years to manifest may take longer to improve, although relief can be instant Taking ownership of your wellbeing is very much encouraged and homework is often given. Kinesiology homework could be making an effort to drink a lot more water, temporarily avoiding certain foods, tapping or holding certain points on your body or affirmations to aid your recovery You may come in with backache and rather than finding that your spine is misaligned, we may conclude a combination of things An old injury elsewhere could be the root cause of the pain, your muscles might be over facilitated, you may be dehydrated, lacking in

specific nutrients, being unsupported emotionally or a mixture of reasons. Often my ‘plan’ for the treatment goes completely awry as intuition takes over and I treat where I am drawn to For structural corrections we don’t put you in awkward positions and crack your bones like osteopaths and chiropractors We might rub certain areas e.g. your jaw, the back of your neck, gently manipulate your spinal vertebrae or cranial bones to restore balance and therefore lessen your discomfort. Everything is done only after finding out if it is a priority for your body and whether it will raise your vital force

Often the areas that we rub will feel uncomfortable or sharp at first, this is because there is a build up of lymphatic fluid in the area which needs dispersing. Rather than the tenderness getting worse as we continue, it becomes more tolerable as the blockage shifts. We only treat within the clients’ pain tolerance. Cranial faults are easily treated These may have occurred at birth, with head injuries or falls and have never been addressed. Tight neck muscles, breath holding, headaches, high blood pressure, jaw pain, being affected by a change in the weather, sinus issues (the list is vast), can all be helped by correcting cranial faults.

Following any treatment there may be a ‘healing reaction’. This is your body making changes and nothing to be concerned about. I always advise clients to take it easy for a day or two and drink lots of water after their treatment to flush out the toxins that have been released.

I’m reminded of a certain friend every time I say that I treated her stomach issues then she went on a 4 mile dog walk straight afterwards only to find that 3 miles in, things had started to take effect She tells me that all of a sudden she needed to pick up the pace for the last mile – I won’t go into details, but you can guess what was shifting!

For Kinesiology on children or adults who are less able to be treated directly, Kinesiologists use a surrogate. I often treat my Uncle, who is nearly 88 years old, using my much more sprightly Auntie as a surrogate. I test her body first so that I know she is strong enough to give good results, then he either holds her hand or has skin to skin contact in some way and I use her body as his. Weird I know but it works! My Uncle gets 80% of the treatment and my Auntie gets 20%, she gets the occasional discomfort instead of him so it must be love! I work in Sussex, email me if you would like to book a treatment.
