Back to books at Landrum High

School’s back in session, and that means school buses are back on the roads. Area drivers are urged to use extra caution and obey all laws regarding buses and crosswalks. School started yesterday, Monday, Aug. 20, for Landrum and Campobello students, and it will start next Monday, Aug. 27 for Polk County students.

Green Creek man arrested for outdoor marijuana discovered in helicopter search by Leah Justice

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has another Polk County man in custody facing charges of growing marijuana plants. The sheriff’s office arrested Greg Nelson Henderson, 51, of

563 Phillip Henderson Road and charged him with felony manufacturing marijuana. Officers said last Thursday, Aug. 16, a N.C. Highway Patrol helicopter spotted 32 marijuana plants around Henderson’s home.
