EDITOR’S NOTE
“And now go, and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here.” - Neil Gaiman
C
ongratulations, Class of 2018! I’m sure the past four years have not been easy — spending long nights cramming for finals, dealing with pop quizzes first thing in the morning, trying to find a way to squeeze in time for a social life between homework and your shifts at your part-time job, etc. The trials and tribulations your teenage years all come to ahead, however, when your name is finally called and you receive that new diploma, officially ushering you and your classmates into adulthood. Sure, graduation may seem kind hokey — those caps and gowns aren’t going to land you on the front cover of GQ or Cosmo anytime soon — but it’s a celebration of how far you all have come over the past 18 years of your life. Take pride in your growth, and make sure to thank the teachers, mentors and your friends and family who helped shape you into the young adult you are today. While your futures may take you across the country — or perhaps across the globe — don’t ever forget your roots. There’s always a place called home for you here in our Foothills. Without further ado, the Tryon Daily Bulletin would like to present to you, our readers, the Class of 2018!

POLK COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL 2018 Senior Class To the Class of 2018: On behalf of the Polk County Board of Education and all of Polk County Schools, I want to congratulate our Polk County High School and Polk County Early College graduates, the Class of 2018. This is a very special time of year for you seniors and your families, and for us as teachers and staff. It is rewarding to see the culmination of your hard work, and we feel fortunate to have played a part in preparing you for a productive future. Commencement marks an end and a beginning. The coming weeks will go by quickly, as you finish exams, attend awards nights and prepare for graduation ceremonies. Take some time to reflect on the effort and commitment it has taken to get you to this point. Take pride in your accomplishments and realize you will need the same dedication and resolve to be successful going forward. I would also encourage you to join me in thanking your families, your communities, and the Polk County Schools educators who have helped you reach your goals. Know that we are very proud of you and that your Wolverine Family is behind you all the way. As you prepare to embark on a new journey, set your aim high. We know you are going to do great things! Congratulations, Class of 2018! Aaron Greene, Polk County Schools Superintendent
