EQUESTRIAN SERVICES With wide-open green pastures surrounded by beautiful rolling mountains, Polk County provides a picturesque backdrop for horse enthusiasts to set their lives and hobbies against. The equine industry is a major factor in the area’s economy and recreation. The temperate climate of the area well supports a flourishing equine community, which is conducive to year-round riding. ‘Tryon Horse Country’ is recognized nationally, as well as internationally. Other small businesses benefit from the equine community as well, by providing goods and services. Among these are truck and trailer sales, real estate, barn EQUESTRIAN FACILITIES

The county’s trail systems (Foothills Equestrian Trail Association, Collinsville Equestrian Trail Association, North Pacolet and other systems), provide approximately 300 miles of trails and are nationally recognized.
