A NOTE FROM OUR GRAND WORTHY ADVISOR Happy Grand Assembly, Massachusetts Rainbow!

As we begin to embark in our final flight around the world and spread our wings into a new adventure, it’s important to reflect on this past year and how much we have grown as individuals and as a state. This past year has not been an easy one but through our creativity, determination, passion, and dedication, we have been able to adapt and evolve from the place we were last year. Throughout my travels and visitations, I have been able to see first hand the amazing leadership and innovation that each Assembly possesses through their meeting formats and after meeting activities and fun. I am so proud of our girls for navigating this virtual environment and making the most of what life has thrown at them.

To our Massachusetts advisors, you all are the glue that holds us together. One of the things that I have missed most from this year are all the fun memories created during our many car rides. You support every member of this organization, in and out of your home Assembly, and your smiles, encouragement, and support always push us to be our best selves. Thank you for all your guidance throughout the years.

To the 2020-2021 Grand Officers and Representatives, thank you for embracing this year and making it your own. Although we never got to see each other stand in our offices in person, we made the most of what we were given and shined nonetheless. From zoom meetings across the world visiting current and past counterparts, to coordinating a virtual Grand drill, I have enjoyed sharing memories with you that I hope you will remember for a while. I am excited for the day when we can gather again and hold our reunion meeting.

To my friends, family, and extended Rainbow family, thank you for your support throughout this year. It has not been an easy one, but all of the late night talks, texts, Facetimes, and rants have gotten me through it and I am so happy to have been able to take this journey with you. I would not be where I am today if it was not for your love and support.

Last, but certainly not least, to the members of Massachusetts Rainbow, you are all amazing! Without you, we would not exist. Your perseverance through this year is incredible and I can’t wait to see

where our membership goes in the upcoming years. Remember, this is your organization, you have the power to decide what happens, and you have the ability to make your voices heard and create change, not only in this organization, but in the world. Fight for what you believe in and never give up.

Thank you for embarking on this journey with me and remembering that it is not always about the destination, but the adventures and memories you make along the way.

Additional Information for Grand Assembly 2020 ARRIVAL AT GRAND ASSEMBLY: To avoid any confusion or missed notifications, please dial in to the Grand Assembly sessions at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start time noted in the program.

DRESS FOR GRAND ASSEMBLY: All Mother Advisors are required to wear white, floor-length dresses, following the 2009 Massachusetts dress code, on Friday evening. All Worthy Advisors or acting Worthy Advisors are required to wear white, floor-length gowns on Friday evening.

All girls participating in Grand Assembly sessions are to wear their white gowns for meetings. The only exception is when girls are participating in the Grand Representatives Fashion Show.

We appreciate everyone attending the Open Sessions on Friday and Saturday to observe our dress code. Please pass the information on to invited guests.

RETIRING GRAND OFFICERS AND GRAND REPRESENTATIVES: All retiring Grand Officers/Representatives will return their jewels, rituals and gold books to their Mother Advisor following Grand Assembly sessions earlier than July 10th, 2020. The returned items will be collected by Mom Torrey and new jewels and rituals will be given to the Mother Advisor for distribution at a later date following Grand Assembly.

Lost or broken jewels will incur a $50 fee, lost magnets will incur a $5 fee, lost ritual books will incur a $10 fee, lost or soiled Flags will incur a $50 fee, lost and broken flag poles will incur a $50 fee. All incoming Grand Officers deserve to receive their jewels, rituals and gold books in a timely manner. [If you or your Assembly must reimburse Grand Assembly for lost flags or poles, please realize this is to purchase a replacement in order to re-issue. Once we collect the reimbursement, there is no refund if flags and poles are found at a later date as we have purchased replacements].

KAHOOTS EVENT (9 pm on Friday, June 26th) The Friday night activity will be a Kahoots Trivia event. Please dial in to event at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of the fun activity.

NEW GRAND OFFICERS AND GRAND REPRESENTATIVES: Incoming Grand Officers/Representatives will receive their Jewels, etc. following Grand Assembly.

SAFETY: Per our youth protection requirements, we have requested that all those attending our Virtual Sessions to register through our online RSVP system. Please do not circulate the Zoom information or post to any social media applications.

GRAND ASSEMBLY CONDUCT: Attendees of Grand Assembly causing problems during the Grand Assembly Virtual Sessions may be removed from the Zoom meeting and not permitted to attend future Grand Assembly sessions.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES: When in the Assembly room, ALL electronic devices are to be shut off. No text messaging. Anyone not adhering to this rule will be expected to leave the meeting.

Being present, is to recognize the fine work performed by the Grand Officers and Representatives.

FOOD AND DRINKS: We ask that you please refrain from eating or drinking during our online sessions as it can become disruptive to the viewing audience.

ZOOM MEETING ETIQUITTE As we embark on this new online world, we ask that we all do our best to mute ourselves if we are not required to speak at any of the events. This will assist with background noise that happens in our homes. We also ask that you find a location that has a table and chair for viewing/speaking purposes. In other words, bedrooms are not appropriate viewing locations for online Rainbow meetings.
