Everyone in brokerage talks about the importance of leadership in creating healthy firms. And everyone seems to agree that the current leadership is not getting any younger. The REAL Trends Leadership Institute (RTLI) – Emerging Leaders – is the first of a series of working sessions to address both issues.

This is built for those new to brokerage leadership, for those who are early into their responsibilities of taking their firms forward. Regardless of what stage an emerging leader is in at this time, this program is made to refresh one’s thinking about how to grow again.

We have custom designed the RTLI to be equally divided between presentation from topic experts and individual work groups that will attack key questions and share answers with each other and with the overall group.

Growth through Mergers and Acquisitions Many want to grow this way and many think it is easy. While it is a useful way to grow, it is not easy and there are many potholes.

Steve Murray and Amy Broset, who together have handled over 2,200 valuations and 635 sales of brokerage companies will present the process of growing through acquisitions and how to avoid the roadblocks. A complete review of valuation procedures will also be presented.

Building Online Business Success Nothing is more talked about but less understood than the realities of how to create both perceived and real business success in the online world. This program will be led by Travis Saxton of REAL Trends who has worked directly with over 25 firms in the past year to analyze and design technologies, policies and approaches that address both issues.

Fresh off the national research study, the REAL Trends Online Performance Study, Saxton will cover the key findings and share successes from his work with many leading realty firms.

Technology Tools for Business Success There are too many technologies and tech tools being thrown at the realty industry every day. Which ones work and how does a broker make them work to create more closed business and more effective business processes?

This program will feature CEOs from several leading providers who will be asked to comment, not on their particular tech offerings, but their experiences as to what works best and how brokerage firms can incorporate technology into their business to effect growth.

Leadership Skills Sets and Mind Sets Larry Kendall is recognized as the leader in residential brokerage in working with leaders to understand how to be more effective in their roles and responsibilities.

Inspiring and practical at the same time, Kendall will present methods and approaches to how emerging leaders can get the skill sets and mind sets that will make each individual a more effective leader in their own organization.
