WINTER HORSE FESTIVAL Feb. 18-19, 2017
Thank you for working with us! Project "Horserider Mongol" organized under the auspices of President of Mongolia in 2015, the 250 pairs of horses demonstration was the beginning of our event. This year, the event will be held 3rd time in Batnorov soum, Khentii province. Our team has expanded by the Citizens’ Representative Khural of Batnorov soum, the local school, the Racing Association of Batnorov also local horse herders. Recently Environment and Tourism department of Khentii, Dornod and Sukhbaatar provinces, World Vision - Khentii project and the National Tourism Organization (NTO) have been working together to make this event bigger, more reachable and successful.
Features: Mongolians have tradition to keep their horses’ fat and power during the cold time by chasing the horses on the pasture and also make themselves warmer. Our vision: ​To develop and spread its unique horse breeding tradition and culture of nomadic horsemen during harsh winter of Mongolia

Event starts with the tournament among horsemen “Roping the horse”. Finalists will be selected and finale continues after Opening ceremony.

Opening ceremony of Winter Horse Festival 2017 begins with parade of “Beautiful couple on Silver saddle of Tojil style”. All locals on horses, tourists and participants are welcome to join in parade.

“Talented rider” game starts with swoop the horse rods and to tame a horse. Winners will be announced after the competition.
