But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. Obadiah 1-17

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil

EPILOGUE The interesting thing about broken jars is that you have two decisive options. You can either chuck it in the bin or repair it. The decision to do either is preceded by the value you put on the object. The ability to value on the other hand, is based on your sentiments and qualifications as a valuer. I learnt about an ancient Japanese art recently, where broken vessels are brought to life using gold as a bonding material. The end effect is sometimes so astonishing that the value of the new object is greater than the former. Many lives are broken, some externally and multitudes internally. People have been other-valued/ self-valued and deemed fit for the trash can. There are a lot of ‘professional valuers’ who have the uncanny ability of fixing the worth of your life and person. The purpose of this book is to link you with the real valuer who created you, labelled you worthy of HIS name and can put your broken pieces back together with astonishing results. We have seen HIM do it to countless people, including ourselves. It will be an honour to connect you with the true legitimate valuer and be a participator in the greatest journey you have ever embarked on: Bringing the pieces together to reveal the real you, so you can fully carry His oil!

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]

Introduction

www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil At the beginnings of our involvement in the exciting frontline ministry of healing and deliverance in 1988, in Lagos, Nigeria, the Lord gave me this fundamental scripture:

“But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” Obadiah 1-17 I had a general understanding of this scripture as related to deliverance, but over the years, I have gained a deeper understanding of it and I have also realized that we all need to escape from our mental, emotional and spiritual captivities of different sorts, to be able to enter fully into our GOD given possessions and walk into the blessings which have been promised by His Word centuries before. It is because of this powerful revelation that my wife and I, have put so much efforts to fully equip and heal God’s people around the world, by releasing them with the revelation of the Truth ignited by the Holy Spirit, who is the most exciting person of the Godhead. In the process of meditating on this scripture over the years, it is now clear to me that Jesus has truly come to completely restore our lives. Jesus came to deal with our past, to heal our present and to give us access to the victorious future promised in His Word. Put in another way, He came to completely set us free, to completely heal us and to completely equip us in order to completely serve Him freely with no limitations or limits! Through this process of understanding, He has created a strong passion in me to make a permanent difference to other people’s lives by bringing that complete deliverance, healing and liberation. I’ve learnt with time, that every believer needs to learn how to totally release their past to move forward speedily into God’s calling. To fully inherit the Promised Land God wants for us, we need to recognize and understand what it means to be in bondage, what it means to be free and how to walk and stay in total freedom.

7 www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil We also need to learn how to release the influence of our past, our sins, our old patterns, our emotional voids, our damages and our experienced limitations, since we were fashioned in our mother’s womb. This understanding will enable us to run efficiently in our today, boldly confident of a brighter tomorrow, and secure in GOD’s loving presence, protection and enablement. It also helps us to have a deeper revelation of God’s will for our lives, to keep faith no matter the circumstances and to learn how to move forward through disappointments. We truly all need to walk in the path of righteousness to truly achieve the purpose God has for us. That’s why Obadiah states that deliverance precedes Holiness which is a requirement for Jacob to inherit all Possessions GOD has in store. Interpreting this Old Testament promise within the New Testament understanding starts with realizing Jacob (Hebrew: Supplanter, Cheat, Heel catcher) is the other name for Israel (Hebrew: Prince with GOD). The choice of which name to use for the same person depends on the behaviour of the patriarch. In the same way, even when we behave like Jacob, the promise is that when we connect at Mount Zion (Prophetically interpreted as the Gathering of saints; like the church), where the Holy Spirit is present, there is deliverance or a setting free from things that impair the revealing of the greatness given to us by GOD Himself. Then follows Holiness which means something so valuable that it is set apart in a special place almost untouchable, like some expensive vases are securely kept. Then in that state of Holiness or GOD- likeness just as Israel’s name denotes, we ‘POSSESS ALL OUR POSSESSIONS’. This Holiness is not something you fight for, but you embrace. In fact, it’s a such a foregone conclusion that you are labelled ‘The righteousness of GOD’, in Christ Jesus.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV

8 www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil You need a mind shift or soul restoration to tap into this revelation. It’s amazing to see GOD do this in this ministry and it will be an honour to help you achieve that and teach you how to do the same for others.

“He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3 This restoration of the soul is necessary to empower our destinies. God wants to deal now with our innermost parts. The negative actions, reactions and behaviours don’t surprise Him. Those outward appearances are symptoms of the inward, undealt with brokenness. In releasing these deeper parts of our soul to His love, He will reveal the true you, a beautiful you. Everything GOD creates is beautiful including you. In Psalms 51:11, David, called for the cleansing of the heart to serve the Lord at the fullest. He says, ‘Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me’. This creates an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to dwell in me with joy and pleasure. I see today so many Christians in the church, striving and surviving rather than achieving the plans, purposes, positions and promises of God. The ministry of healing, deliverance and setting free, is empowered by the Holy Spirit to let them walk into their high places. It releases the believer to become a mature vessel in God’s hands for His highest purpose. When we open our hearts, His fire will descend to cleanse us and make us holy and pure, just as He is; so as to receive more from Him and to give more to others. Our responsibility is to let Him restore us, so we can become a pleasing sacrifice for Him and the world. We all need to let the fire of God illuminate our deepest innermost parts and extinguish all darkness. It’s not our job to live Holy! It’s our job to draw closer in intimacy and let His Holiness change us from within. It will be easy if we learn how to relax and stop ‘figuring stuff out’. And I believe this is the key. We have seen so many people’s lives changed since we started our walk with the Lord. God’s love has broken off chains, transformed and redeemed so many people’s lives that we are so confident in His work. We have seen so many lives and destinies changed radically by this ministry that we don’t want you to miss out.

Cut the strings Forgiving your past

www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil Forgiveness is the first key to deliverance. Without forgiveness there is no healing and where there is no healing there is no freedom. The main blocks to forgiveness are misconceptions of what it means to forgive. The first thing you need to realize is that forgiveness does NOT validate the offence. Neither does it mean approving the injustice, but rather, it is avoiding the poison that has been released and stop it from influencing and affecting us. Forgiveness means giving up the right to be angry with someone who has hurt or offended you. The Bible commands to forgive so as to receive the full effects of the forgiveness of our Heavenly Father. It’s how we are mentally programmed. If we retain the junk and pain it acts like a virus messing up our hard drives. Our maker knows how He programmed you and without forgiving others, you are really just dragging them along with you everywhere you go and will end up poisoning other relationships and encounters. You always hurt yourself more than you can ever hurt the other person or group that perpetrated the evil on you.

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:25

Let’s now define the word forgiveness: The act of Forgiveness is simply choosing NOT to desire revenge. Forgiveness is choosing NOT to desire seeing others hurt for the pain they have caused us. When we forgive we are giving up any right we might have to see others suffer for what they did to us.The word “forgive” means to wipe the slate clean, to pardon, to cancel a debt. When we wrong someone, we seek his or her forgiveness in order for the relationship to be restored. It is important to remember that forgiveness is not granted because a person deserves to be forgiven. Instead, it is an act of love, mercy, and grace.1

1. To grant pardon for or remission of an infraction, an offense, debt, injury wounding harm, hurt etc. It involves totally absolving the perpetrator. 2. It involves the decision to give up all claim due on account of the offence. 3. It’s to cancel an indebtedness or liability of interest due because of the event.2 1 https://www.allaboutgod.com 2 http://www.dictionary.com

13 www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil Not forgiving those who have offended us, betrayed us, or treated us unfairly often does not hurt them, but we ALWAYS hurt ourselves. This hurt creates deep resentments in our hearts. These resentments can start and become entrenched, even when we are still too young to understand the risks of it, or when we are too immature to express forgiveness. Sometimes we are not even aware of this but know we just get angry with events or people that remind us consciously or subconsciously of the original pain. When we refuse to forgive immediately and completely, we keep these resentments hidden in our hearts, sometimes buried deep in our subconscious mind. This keeps us depressed, constantly looking back at the event and causes anxiety because we are scared of a repeat in the future. We get all tensed up squeezing internal organs and develop various tension-related illnesses, aches and pains. My role as a Minister of God is to help you discover who and what needs to be forgiven through the leading of the Holy Spirit shedding light into your past. Living in unforgiveness is a choice just as much as living in forgiveness. The only difference is that unforgiveness is against GOD’s injunctions and leaves room for satan to pollute your future. Unforgiveness is a flagrant disobedience to GOD’s Word and ultimately His plan for your life. Unforgiveness gives demons access to build in your mind solid strongholds to keep you captive and paralysed even when you are a Christian (Ephesians 4:26). God’s abundant life comes through forgiveness. You will never be the same when you forgive; it’s like a whole new is metamorphosing. On the other hand, your unforgiveness will only keep you in bondage and your destiny will never be fulfilled with the abundance that only comes with a life restored in Him. When we do not forgive, we become emotionally and physically stuck. It becomes difficult for us to move on to new things, like new jobs, new relationships, new ministries, etc. I’ve seen so many Christians ruin their health and their lives by choosing to take the poison of bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness. What my experience has taught me is, akin to a military war, if your enemy gains a foothold, it means he has gained some of your territory and has leverage over you. If you still have unresolved anger in your heart from your past hurts, realize that your unresolved anger can be a foothold for the enemy.

14 www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil The Bible says,

“In your anger do not sin’: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Ephesians 4:26–27 When you refuse to forgive others, you have unresolved anger that allows satan to play with your mind and your emotions anytime he wants to. He can control your life. When these arrows of accusations and unforgiveness continue to burn in your heart, you will do the enemy’s will.

Forgiveness, Forgetting & Reconciliation: Forgiveness doesn’t always result in forgetting but the pain from the wounds gets better. Some wounds are very deep particularly with people you have invested a lot for or are very close to you. Forgiveness should be an automatic lifestyle. With the power of the Holy Spirit even deep wounds will heal, sometimes through a process involving time, sometimes with assistance, but you must will to forgive. Reconciliation is not always automatic. Always look for fruits of repentance from the perpetrator before reconciling severe injuries. Seek professional Christian counselling for this if needed. Repeat wounding can be more difficult to deal with. Reconciliation requires the perpetrator to accept their problem. Set good boundaries with gates. If struggling with boundaries join the Clean Waters Academy Boundaries course.

15 www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil The Process 1. Accept the need to forgive. If battling with the concept, tell GOD you want to, but are struggling. Ask for His mercy and request His grace to forgive. Read and reflect on Hebrews 4:14-16. It does work powerfully! 2. Write a forgiveness list - Sample attached 3. Say the forgiveness Prayer in the next section. Believe it, Act it. 4. Daily Commit to forgive. Matthew 18:21 prescribes 70 x 7 times a day which basically means continuously! 5. We can only achieve this by releasing people into your blessing as a lifestyle. 6. You facilitate this by praying regularly for those who despitefully use you. 7. You can’t do these except you learn to discipline wayward emotions (You can request for the teaching on dealing with the mind from the Clean Waters Academy). 8. Believe in the Word about forgiveness and choose to Be Holy like your father (meditate on Psalm 103) 9. Don’t forgive because of fear of punishment (Talent of the wicked servant in Matthew 18), but rather forgive people as part of your worship of Him, stemming out of love for Him which overflows to other people. 10. Let the past go; TODAY!!!

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14–16 NKJV)

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil My Forgiveness List WHO ARE YOU HOLDING TO? Often it is those closest to us that end up on this list. The closer people are to your ‘Holy of holies’ the more capable they are of hurting you e.g parents, children, brothers, sisters, close friends, spouses, etc. This doesn’t exclude those outside our inner circle. Teachers, organisations, people groups, (eg white, black, tribes etc), ministers, our profession, ourselves, GOD.

17 www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil How do we forgive and know we have forgiven? 1. As everything in True Christianity, it’s an act of faith requiring us to search for the promise and holding on to it. Faith is as simple as that i.e. GOD said it, I believe it, I receive it. GOD and I shake hands on it and I walk away with a done deal. GOD’s word in 1 John 1:9 states (paraphrased), If we recognize something as sinful and say it to GOD, we will receive His forgiveness and His cleansing and reparative work in our lives starts. On our part we simply believe and trust that He can’t back off on His promises and because He is faithful to keep His word, we have the answer. We might not feel any goose bumps or hear a sound from heaven or see a parting sea, but we trust Him that He accepts our prayer and will keep His part of the deal. 2. The pain starts to decease 3. You feel lighter 4. The torments start to go 5. Sometimes it’s instantaneous but occasionally it’s a healing process. 6. (Things can be sped up at the encounters in our meetings and retreats)

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9 NKJV)

The forgiveness prayer

• My Dear Heavenly Father, your Word says if I confess my sins, you are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from ALL unrighteousness (1st John 1:9). • I thank you for your gift of forgiveness and deliverance today in my personal life. • I ask you to forgive me for walking in disobedience concerning forgiveness. Thank you, God, because despite this, today you have demonstrated your unconditional love by showing me how to forgive those who hurt me. I am truly sorry for my previous sin of unforgiveness.

18 www.tsmiministries.org

Broken Jars Still Carry Oil • Father, Your Word tells me that if I forgive those who have sinned against me, then You, my Heavenly Father, will forgive me. But, if I refuse to forgive others, you will not forgive me my sins. You are the only one who knows how much I have been hurt in the past, and I thank you for your mercies on me, that have kept me despite my wounds and pain. I love you Lord. I truly really love you and choose to obey you and hand over my rights to you, my heavenly loving Father. • I choose right today! I refuse to keep suffering and I refuse to be a bitter person by keeping the past in my heart. I want to move forward. I choose today to totally release my hurts and my wounds, to be able to serve you fully and to have access to all your promises for my life. I also accept today your forgiveness and your mercy. I accept your cleansing completely from the sin of unforgiveness. • Thank you that I am healed completely including my mind, will and emotions. Thank you for pouring your healing on my memories so the pain from the memories lift off totally. Because I pray according to your will I believe and know I have the answer and I walk away free, TOTALLY FREE! In Jesus Name, Amen.

When you forgive others, you break the powerful spiritual bond that locks your life into a negative way of relating to others. Unforgiveness is spiritual suicide, so you need to get washed in the water of God’s Word to be able to forgive and to stay clean.
