COOKING CLASS (HALF DAY) True immersion in local culture, the experience starts with a stroll in the local market accompanied by the Chef, to discover Vietnamese ingredients. Here you will be dazzled by the bright colours of the fruits and vegetables and smell the sweet and not so sweet smells as youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re guided around the market. This is followed by a cookery demonstration in the kitchen where everyone plays an active role. PERFUME PAGODA (FULL DAY) Perfume Pagoda is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Vietnam and the sight of a yearly pilgrimage between February and March following the Vietnamese New Year. The pilgrims pray for good health and prosperity in the coming year. Hidden among lush paddy fields, limestone karsts and picturesque villages, this complex is the perfect trip for nature lovers. You will have the chance to glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths visiting the pagodas and temples that were built in this area over the centuries.

HOA LU ANCIENT CAPITAL (FULL DAY) Delve deeper into Vietnam’s past with this visit to the first ancient capital of Vietnam, Hoa Lu. We visit the temples dedicated to emperors of the Le Dynasty dating back around 1000 years and view the remains of the ancient Hoa Lu Citadel. If time permits after visiting Hoa Lu, take a half-hour walk up one of the surrounding limestone karst hills, the climb is rewarding with spectacular views. After lunch, we move on to Tam Coc and board our rowboats for a leisurely meander amongst rugged pinnacles and lush green rice paddies. This area is considered as “Halong Bay on land” ,due to the similar topography.

North Vietnamese art which was created quite by accident when rural North Vietnam became flooded during performances. Since then, this unique art has been practised for generations. Folk legends from Vietnamese history are told by live musicians with wooden men, women and dragons, dancing and splashing on the face of the water. KHUANG SI WATERFALLS (HALF DAY) Khuang Si is one of the most beautiful falls Luang Prabang has on offer. These beautiful falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. Here you will have the chance to swim and relax amidst stunning verdant jungle. For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls via a steep track where stunning views await you. Kuang Si waterfalls also hosts a rescue center for sunbears which aims to raise awareness for the protection of this endangered species.

The purpose of the Baci, which is a mix of Animist and Buddhist beliefs, is to call back escaped spirits to the body.
