Peter, one of the island’s fisherman, confides to the vacationers Marie’s sad story: she used to live in this house, and was murdered during her wedding day by a rejected admirer. Since then, Marie has been haunting the house… Is a ghost actually haunting the place?

The Kafala is a widespread practice in Lebanon: employers exert a hold over their foreign servants. When Nada’s grandmother acquires her new little maid, Ife, an Ethiopian girl, it feels normal to Nada. Admittedly, her grandmother goes too far by demanding, among other things, to attend the maid’s toilette, but for Nada, it is only the whims of an old woman with backward ideas.
