Enhance Your Career and Build Lifelong Relationships in the Real Estate Industry Established in 2004, the Real Estate Organization (REO) is the premier organization for Rawls College students interested in investment real estate markets, analysis and professions. Voted “Student Organization of the Year,” in 2016, REO is committed to providing its more than 100 members with the necessary resources to excel in the real estate industry. REO educates, connects and advances its members across the commercial real estate industry, including development, brokerage, management, consulting and capital allocation. Members are provided with opportunities to personally interact with commercial real estate industry professionals, observe real estate projects first-hand, and practically analyze real estate markets and investments.

Compete in Industry-Sponsored Competitions Members have the opportunity to participate in various competitions in an effort to expand their knowledge, while applying the skills they have gained in the classroom. Members have competed in the: • Texas Shoot-Out Real Estate Challenge, sponsored by ICSC • Real Confidence University Challenge, sponsored by Atlus Group • Colvin Case Study Challenge, sponsored by University of Maryland Colvin Institute of Real Estate Development • Global Academic Challenge, sponsored by CoreNet

Participate in Industry Trips Each semester, REO takes select members to visit firms representing various areas of the commercial real estate industry. Members visit with brokerage, development, appraisal, lending, investment, legal and more. This is an excellent opportunity to network with industry professionals and gain exposure to industry terms and processes. Past trips have been to Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and Colorado.

Serve the Community

Earn Extra Credit

Members have access to real estate-specific software trainings such as ARGUS, CoStar, and Real Estate Financial Modeling.

Each semester, members serve the local community through service projects. Members have served at the local Habitat for Humanity and the Lubbock Arboretum.

By attending events, members have the opportunity to earn extra credit toward coursework in select Real Estate classes.

Attend Monthly Meetings Each month, members gather to gain insight into the industry through local site visits, presentations and panel discussions. Featured guests have included representatives from:
