A unique alpine paradise High Altitude Skiing The perception that Austria only offers low altitude skiing is a misconception. Although many of the Austrian villages are located at a height of 700m – 800m, most nursery slopes start at 1,500m above sea level with the main ski area continuing up from there. Be sure to check the height of each ski resort and you’ll find access to fantastic high level skiing with an excellent snow-sure record. You also have the assurance that Austrian resorts have a high concentration of snowmaking facilities to supplement the snowfall throughout the season.
The World’s Best Glaciers As part of the unique skiing experience, HTS groups have the option to visit some of Europe’s largest and most impressive glaciers. The Hintertux Glacier, located at the far reaches of the Zillertal valley, offers skiing year-round on one of the premier glacier skiing areas in the Alps. The Stubai Glacier is located directly south of Innsbruck and is rated one of the top glacier skiing areas in the world. HTS groups also love to ski the famous Kitzsteinhorn glacier, accessed from Kaprun, nearby to Zell am See. With several glaciers in Austria at a height of over 3200m, the snow throughout the winter can be outstanding whilst the length of the season is also impressive running from late September through to early summer.
The Infrastructure The infrastructure in our featured Austrian ski resorts is of an extremely high standard, with even the smallest villages boasting transportation links to other ski areas. This enables HTS groups to access the extensive skiing terrain on offer with ease. Austrian ski resorts have embraced innovation to continue providing a top quality service to skiers. New cutting-edge technology has improved cableways, gondolas and mountain restaurants, providing an unbeatable skiing experience for students and teachers alike. It’s not only an investment in resort lift systems that has seen Austria’s infrastructure rival some of Europe’s top destinations. Technology on the slopes has also developed with enhanced snowmaking facilities ensuring skiers can enjoy an uninterrupted piste experience. It means schools can be confident in choosing from a greater range of resorts with snow coverage, allowing everyone from beginners to advanced skiers to enjoy a memorable school ski trip in Austria.

Evening Entertainment Arranged Before You Travel Take the stress out of every element of the ski trip by prebooking après-ski activities before you travel. Our UK based Tour Co-Ordinators can pre-arrange your evening itinerary to guarantee that your group doesn’t miss out on that all-important bowling night, ice skating slot or pizza evening.
A Quick Guide to Our Hotels Hotels run by our partner Young Austria who specialise in youth travel.

Ski AmadĂŠ - Salzburger Sportwelt
The Salzburger Sportwelt lies in the centre of the vast Ski AmadĂŠ region and is made up of nine resorts: Flachau, Wagrain, St. JohannAlpendorf, Radstadt, Altenmarkt, Zauchensee, Kleinarl, Eben and Filzmoos. The area continues to see annual investment to technology on the slopes, including over 1,000 snow cannons working to ensure your group is guaranteed snow on their trip. The ski schools within the Salzburger Sportwelt ski area have an excellent reputation for all levels of skier and snowboarder; in fact, students can develop their technique in the World Cup race venues of Zauchensee and Flachau! The well-planned lift system and links between the resorts ensure groups can maximise their skiing time and queuing is kept to a minimum. Away from the slopes, Radstadt is an attractive, historic walled town about 2km from the lifts and is connected to the popular winter base of Altenmarkt. Kleinarl is a charming village in the heart of the ski area and provides easy access to great skiing. From Kleinarl it is possible to ski to Zauchensee and a short bus ride takes you to Wagrain where a spectacular cable car crosses the valley linking the Grafenberg resort to the rest of the ski area. Accommodation in this region has been carefully selected to offer both unrivalled access to the slopes as well as superb facilities that are well-suited to school groups, including traditional stube lounge areas and outdoor recreational spaces. Investments into the local infrastructure have greatly improved links between the resorts, and despite the impressive statistics of the ski region and rise in popularity, villages such as Altenmarkt, Radstadt and Kleinarl have retained their Austrian charm and traditions.

Ski Amadé - schladming Hosting the World Cup Championship in 2013, the Schladming ski area has seen heavy investment in its lift system to keep queues short and skiers warm with the mod cons of fast transfers and heated seats. Groups skiing Schaldming have access to a 4-moutain ski area, namely Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. It’s not only the southern walls of the Dachstein and Schladminger Tauern that will take your students’ breath away; the Dachstein Glacier means groups are guaranteed snow. 123km of piste is available in the main area of Schladming, allowing school ski groups plenty of options during their week. Intermediates have plenty of piste to cover during their week with a 4.6km FIS-grade run and the Hochwurzen Valley run stretching 8km. The vast number of cruising red runs means there are some that have a gradient similar to blue slopes allowing beginners to progress during the week. Those new to skiing are not forgotten about with the Rohrmoss and Planai nursery areas allowing beginners to build their confidence. With two world-class downhill slopes, there are plenty of options for the more advanced skiers in your group to explore on the mountain.

bad kleinkirchheim
Bad Kleinkirchheim (BKK), along with the interlinked village of St Oswald, offers fantastic intermediate skiing and is home to wide, tree-lined runs, modern lifts and an efficient network of links. In recent years the region has invested in snowmaking facilities to supplement what Mother Nature provides, and with the combination of many north facing slopes, the area offers almost 100% snow coverage. BKK is home to a caring ski school that encourages beginners on their ski lessons and will quickly gain the confidence to move to the sunnier, wider runs of St Oswald. Whilst not the most challenging resort for advanced skiers, the Franz Klammer World Cup run is worth trying out, as well as the multitude of red runs throughout the resort, which are ideal for perfecting technique. Groups choosing BKK will be accommodated on Lake Millstatt which provides easy access to the ski area and the nearby towns of Seeboden and Millstatt have a good range of amenities, along with the town of Spittal a short drive away for even more. These nearby towns are often a more affordable choice for evening entertainment than BKK itself.

The UNESCO-listed Dachstein Mountains offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the Austrian Alps and are home to fantastic unspoilt and welcoming resorts. The ski area caters to every level with 142 kilometres of terrain offering plenty of options for everyone. Complete beginners have plenty of space to learn the basics before moving on to the long, tree-lined blue runs of Gosau. The wide range of red runs on the Zwieselalm provides intermediate skiers with room to manoeuvre as well as good links to Annaberg and Russbach. Advanced skiers have 16 kilometres of challenging black runs to play with, while 86% snowmaking coverage ensures a long season. Designed by freeride experts, four terrain parks provide a challenge for freestyle enthusiasts and the well-maintained, 66-strong lift network features the latest chairlift technology. The Dachstein West ski region’s location in the heart of Austria sets it apart with distinct resorts providing a great atmosphere and value for money for school groups. HTS Total Ski offers some excellent accommodation options for the Dachstein region. Surrounded by dramatic peaks, the former royal spa town of Bad Ischl is set in the heart of the Austrian Lake District. The attractive resort and spa centre of Bad Goisern offers easy access to Bad Ischl and Salzburg, plus the charming village of Gosau provides a perfect base from which to explore the impressive ski region via two lifts connecting to Russbach and Annaberg. While Austrian alpine ski racer Marcel Hirscher has toured some of the biggest resorts on the men’s Ski World Cup circuit, his home town is less well-known. Located in the Dachstein West ski area, Annaberg allowed Hirscher to grow up in the steep mountains, helping to develop the foundations for his excellent sense of balance. The area of Annaberg is particularly suited to intermediates and offers school ski groups a great range of terrain to explore with the ski school throughout the week.

Dachstein West is a hub of activity not just on the slopes but also in the towns and villages in the region, notably Gosau and Bad Ischl, where the HTS accommodations reside. Here are some of the activities groups can expect to enjoy when visiting this unique Alpine destination.
20
Bowling
Pizza night
Curling
Take to the lanes for an evening of nine pin bowling as students compete against each other in some light-hearted competition. Expect to see smaller bowling balls in Austria, with two or even no holes as per the traditional nature of the game. The Kegelbahnstüberl in the heart of Bad Ischl features two lanes and offers school groups an evening out in a traditional setting.
Undoubtedly a highlight of the week is a night enjoying everyone’s favourite indulgence, which can be in addition to dinner or instead of your evening meal. Taking place at the Gosauschmied just outside of Gosau at the same location as curling, the evening is a relaxing time to appreciate a different environment as students tuck into their favourite pizzas in a building with a 300-year history.
Not quite the variant seen at the Olympics but certainly the same level of competition, students have the chance to experience Eisstockschießen. Using stones with longer handles, the game is played with 10 players at a time on an outdoor lane, while the rest of the group enjoys a hot drink and cheers their classmates on from the conservatory of the pizza restaurant.

Swimming & Thermal Swimming
Horse sleigh ride
School groups can enjoy a two-hour swimming session at indoor and outdoor pools which are located near Bad Ausee. Pools have lifeguards on duty, as well as bubble beds, geysers and jets, and a large multi-purpose pool. Thermal swimming is a real treat when visiting Dachstein West and allows students to experience a series of pools varying in temperature and salinity. The Eurothermen Resort in Bad Ischl features various indoor pools with water temperature between 34 -36 °C, a lazy river, an outdoor pool and the unique experience of a salt grotto, where illuminated onyx stones bath the grotto in magical light. Both options are a great choice for students and teachers alike to recharge their batteries and relax, ready for another day of skiing.
For a traditional Austrian experience, HTS offers two different options for a memorable horse sleigh ride. Each sleigh can typically fit between five and twenty people and guests will get to explore the Dachstein West region from a different perspective. The first, most convenient for groups staying in the Vitalhotel, groups are picked up from the hotel and take a ride through the countryside, experiencing a true winter wonderland. Groups staying in Bad Ischl can enjoy a horse sleigh ride through the historic town, taking in historic monuments and buildings such as the theatre house that once hosted grand balls and performances for the aristocracy.

gerlitzen
Home of Olympic Gold medallist Matthias Mayer, Gerlitzen is a great choice for beginner and intermediate groups. The ski area is accessed from Annenheim, and from the middle station sweeping pistes open out across the mountain, offering a wide range of skiing for all abilities. Those new to the snow can find their feet at the fantastic beginners’ area located at the middle station. When skiers venture further up the hill, they can take in breathtaking views over the Ossiacher Lake and the peaks that stand guard over the border with Slovenia. HTS groups have the added advantage of ski storage on the mountain as well as a welcome hot lunch in a mountain restaurant to keep you going right up until the last run down. Ongoing investment in ski lift and snowmaking technology has seen a rise in Gerlitzen’s popularity, yet queuing remains a rare occurrence. You’ll find clearly marked, well-groomed runs and a collection of authentic mountain huts, restaurants and sunny terraces – ideal for soaking up the scenery and hot chocolate. Staying in Ossiach, you’re directly on the lake with all the necessary amenities nearby and just a short drive from the Gerlitzen mountain. Landskron is the closest village to the ski area, or you can unwind in Villach’s Thermal Baths. Villach also offers a range of shops and plenty of things to do during the day and on a group evening out.

heiligenblut The delightful village of Heiligenblut resides at the foot of the mighty Grossglockner – Austria’s highest mountain. Featuring all of the amenities every school group needs, the resort offers accommodation within easy walking distance from the lifts. Grossglockner, at almost 3800m, rubs shoulders with a range of neighbouring peaks and can be viewed from the ski area. Skiers can zip between Heiligenblut’s two interlinked mountains, which are supported by 50 snow cannons making up any shortfall of snow. With the nursery slope located near to the hotel in the village centre, complete beginners feel safe and secure trying out their snowplough turns. Groups soon progress to the confidence-building blue runs located on the two mountains of the Heiligenblut ski area, which are connected by a mountain tunnel. Well-groomed slopes are in abundance and it’s the variety of red runs – stretching over 40km – that really makes Heiligenblut a haven for intermediate skiers. The more experienced members of your group won’t find themselves short of a challenge or two either. A wide range of uncrowded, high-altitude slopes and an efficient lift system that minimises queuing time and maximises skiing time makes Heiligenblut a great late season choice for school ski groups. Heiligenblut is a reassuringly popular choice with Austrian school groups who come back year after year for convenient access to the slopes and the idyllic location. The village centre is home to a range of cafes and bars, and you’ll find a swimming pool within walking distance of the hotel. Situated in Austria’s Eastern Alps, the resort is within the boundaries of the heart-stirring scenery of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Make time to take stock of your surroundings before descending your 20th red run.

kitzbühel
The world-class resort of Kitzbühel benefits from some of the most advanced ski lift technology in Europe and the far-reaching snowmaking facilities ensure some of the most exhilarating skiing available in the HTS portfolio. The world-famous Hahnenkamm is the home of the annual World Cup men’s downhill ski race, held in January. Groups lucky enough to see the race can get the cowbells clanging as skiers descend at speeds exceeding 140 kilometres per hour. The downhill course is an incredible is 3312 metres long, with an 85 per cent gradient at its steepest point. For those with more modest ski abilities, Kitzbühel is also a beginner’s paradise with dedicated learning areas on Pass Thurn or at the Fleckalmbahn. More experienced skiers can try out the ‘ski safari’, leading groups along a scenic trail from the Hahnenkamm to the Resterhohe lift. Late season skiers will enjoy good snow conditions well into the spring, as Kitzbühel holds on well to its snow conditions. Freestyle enthusiasts have a choice of skicross runs, halfpipes and other exciting features in the snowpark. Kitzbühel’s pedestrianised centre is the ideal place to shop, eat and drink, with a lively après-ski atmosphere. Evening entertainment for school groups can be found at the nearby sports centre and Aquarena. In the Kitzbühel area, essential amenities are on-hand to help groups enjoy the best possible winter sports experience, and the culture of Salzburg, Munich and Innsbruck is just two hours away. Nearby, Mittersill offers a range of amenities, including an interesting National Park Centre. Just four kilometres from Mittersill, Stuhlfelden is a small, peaceful village with a few essential amenities, and yet another delightful village lies between Kitzbühel and Kirchberg. Reith is a firm favourite with our groups thanks to its proximity to these two renowned ski resorts.

Set in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, Matrei stands in the shadow of Austria’s highest peak the Grossglockner - and features a stunning panorama of 60 peaks above 3000m. Oberlungau is famous for its charming, unspoilt villages, enviable snow record and its three impressive ski areas – Katschberg, Grosseck-Speiereck and Fanningberg. These are served by a network of modern lifts and a wide range of open runs with good progression options. Replacing the chairlift in St. Michael with a gondola to the top station has improved the Speiereck experience. Groups keen to spread their wings can upgrade to the Lungo pass, which covers Oberlungau and Obertauern, an especially good option for Easter groups as it gives access to much higher slopes. Great snow cover, wide-open pistes and a wide range of red runs make the Katschberg popular with intermediate skiers. Rated one of the best in the Alps, the six-kilometre A1 slope, from the top of the Katschberg to St Margarethen, is one to set your sights on. Oberlungau’s ski schools take their high teaching standards seriously, which is reflected in the consistently high ratings they receive from our groups. Beginners tend to start on the nursery slopes in the villages of St. Michael or Mauterndorf, or they head for the uncrowded slopes of Fanningberg. Another option for accommodation is Gmünd, a historic walled town with architecture and alleyways dating back to the Middle Ages. Groups love the authentic, unspoilt atmosphere and the town’s good range of facilities. Just a few minutes from Gmünd, the peaceful villages of Rennweg and Malta offer some basic amenities. A little farther afield, you’ll find the scenic, historic settlements of Ramingstein and Mariapfarr. Mauterndorf, dominated by an impressive fortress, is often used in film sets. Many of its narrow, winding streets and brightly coloured buildings date back several centuries.

Gmünd Gmünd sits at the meeting point of the Malta and Lieser Valleys providing an almost fairy-tale environment. Access to the fortified town is via two town gates situated at both ends of the Hauptplatz (Main Square) and provides students with clear boundaries to explore the parade of small shops and delicatessens. The small town has still retained its medieval appearance lending its character to its former position as the centre of the guarded route for the merchants of Salzburg who would travel from Nuremburg to Venice. Along the main streets and off-shoot alleyways sits traditional workshops and galleries that provide students with an insight into the region’s history and culture. Gmünd is a historic town, providing school groups with a picturesque base from where students can enjoy the Oberlungau ski area.

mauterndorf The historical town of Mauterndorf is situated at the foot of the Grosseck-Speiereck. Just a 7-minute coach transfer to the Grosseckbahn gondola, Mauterndorf presents schools with a picturesque setting from where they can set up base. Set 1,100m above sea level, the market square exudes a sense of wonder against the backdrop of Mauterndorf Castle. Now a living museum, the castle is steeped in its own history. Originally starting life as a toll castle, the archbishops of Salzburg made the castle their summer residence. Dominating the skyline of Mauterndorf, the castle leaves a lasting impression. Positioned across the road from the Jugendgãsthaus Mauser, school groups will have access to the ski hire shop. Having recently been refurbished, our chosen supplier for ski hire presents not only a modern shop front but an efficient ski fit service offering some of the best equipment available to the school ski market.

Obertauern.
With a long winter season stretching from November to May and one of the leading interlinked ski areas in the Alps, Obertauern is a firm favourite with our groups. The Obertauern ski area ripples out from the resort centre, from which you can ski both clockwise and anti-clockwise, making use of the carefully thought-out lift system and interlinking pistes. Great beginners’ areas are a short drive from our hotel and come with good snow cover all season long. After building up the basics, beginners can boost their confidence on wide-open pistes, which are equally popular with more experienced skiers. Expert skiers are by no means forgotten here. Those who like a challenge can test their nerve on the mogul runs of the Gamsleiten. For snowboarders, Obertauern’s snow park also comes highly recommended. Emerging as ‘one to watch’ in the 1960s, the resort of Obertauern has gone on to become one of the most popular in Austria, and is the closest Austria has to a purpose-built resort. Sitting at 1700m, it’s located at the top of the Radstädter Tauern pass road, which connects the Salzburger Sportwelt to Oberlungau. Thankfully the architects have maintained authentic Alpine features when designing the range of quality accommodation and first class amenities.

saalbach hinterglemm
The resort of Saalbach Hinterglemm is made up of twin villages that lie 3 kilometres apart. The resort hosted the World Cup championships in the early 1990s and continues to attract international visitors from far and wide. Saalbach Hinterglemm is a popular choice and the pedestrianised centres make the resort that little bit safer. Remaining true to their traditional Alpine roots, Saalbach and Hinterglemm are renowned for their lively après-ski scenes, offering a host of cafés, restaurants and bars to choose from. Giving access to one of Austria’s most impressive ski areas, the villages are geared up with every resort amenity you could hope for, including a strong infrastructure and lift system. It is also rumored that the resort will be linked with Zell am See in the coming years, opening up a truly vast ski area for visiting groups. You’ll find plenty of beginners’ slopes available to help novices gain confidence, including the quieter slopes of Leogang and the excellent beginners’ area. For the more advanced members of your group, more challenging red and blue runs are not in short supply, with black runs from the top of the Schattberg and Zwölfer mountains for those who really want to push the boat out. Internationally-renowned snow parks will also keep your freestyle enthusiasts happy. Since winter 2016, the ski area has been extended even further, with a link over to Fieberbrunn. This has taken the skiable domain to 270km, making the area one of the largest in Austria.

The SkiWelt area has grown in popularity following huge investment in its modern network of lifts and snowmaking technology, including the fastest eight-seat chairlift in the world. This state-of-the-art technology links the resorts of Söll, Scheffau, Ellmau, Going, Brixen, Westendorf, Hopfgarten and Itter. Those new to skiing will find the nursery slopes at the bottom of the valley with a range of options for progressing on the wide blue runs of Söll and Hopfgarten, where the majority of HTS groups access the ski area and meet instructors. Over 140km of red and black runs provide intermediate and advanced skiers with plenty of variety; you’ll also have access to three fun parks. As well as fantastic skiing, the SkiWelt has over 70 cosy mountain huts and restaurants to choose from – that’s one every 3.3 kilometres. Groups staying in the pretty village of Radfeld will find themselves within easy reach of historic towns Rattenberg and Wörgl and just a few minutes from the motorway. Those who choose our Breitenbach accommodation will be staying on the opposite side of the Inn Valley, which offers good access to the ski area. st anton Known as ‘The cradle of Alpine skiing’, this legendary ski area enjoys high altitude and far-reaching snowmaking facilities, therefore offering snow-sure skiing that stretches well into spring. The area is now fully connected thanks to the new Flexenbahn cableway linking St Anton, Lech and Zurs, cementing it’s status as the largest linked area in Austria. While beginners build confidence and progress from the wide blue runs of the Galzig Mountain, intermediate skiers can cruise the long, varied red runs from the Kapall and Gampen, which offer up breathtaking scenery and challenging pistes in equal measure. The advanced skiers in the group won’t be disappointed, with the chance to tackle the steep black runs and mogul fields from Mattun and Schindler Kar, while the resort’s longest run - at 10 kilometres - begins at the top of the Valluga. Freestyle fans can make their way to the dedicated park on the Rendl Mountain – a great place to spend time for those of all abilities. With its level of world-renowned skiing, you might expect St Anton to have lost its traditional charm, but that’s certainly not the case. Its village atmosphere is very much alive and kicking with a well-deserved reputation for lively après-ski. St Anton itself delivers everything you’d want in a world-class skiing destination, from sports shops and boutiques to established après-ski bars and restaurants. The resort’s cosmopolitan atmosphere and range of entertainment really sets it apart. Landeck is home to the HTS accommodation, and is conveniently linked to St Anton by motorway and offers a good range of facilities, amenities and shops.

On the glacier, the majority of terrain is above 2,300m and the wider area boasts 70% snowmaking coverage ensuring great snow all season long. wildschönau In 2013, Auffach and Inneralpbach were linked allowing this excellent ski area to double its available skiable terrain and providing school groups with great value for money. Groups are drawn back year after year by the authentic Austrian atmosphere of Wildschönau. Traditional and unpretentious, all of the villages in the valley offer a genuinely warm welcome to their guests. Beginners find their ski legs on the village-level nursery slopes of Markbachjoch in Niederau or the fantastic beginners’ area by the middle station in Auffach. Before long your group will be raring to go on the gentle, sweeping blue and red runs from the top of the gondola in Niederau. For those with a bit more experience, a wide range of red runs can be found in Auffach providing the ideal playground for intermediates complete with a Snowpark in Schatzberg. You can access this area from the top station of the gondola or you can descend down to Inneralpbach following a red run down to the middle station. For decades, British schools have been coming back to idyllic Oberau, nestled in the heart of the valley. While Oberau is the largest village, you’ll find Auffach offers more of a challenge on the piste as well as the link to Inneralpbach. The Wildschönau valley and Wörgl have a range of good facilities on and off the piste, including bowling and swimming.

zell am see Sitting between the Hohe Tauern mountains and Lake Zell, the town of Zell am See presents school ski groups with plenty of options for evening entertainment. Providing the perfect mix of a historic town centre and après-ski activities, students will easily be occupied during their time off the slopes. Amongst the many activities on offer, schools can benefit from a town that features many of students’ firm favourites. Skittles at the Freizeitzentrum allows students to experience a variation of bowling with a two-lane alley giving schools a secure venue to enjoy some healthy competition. There is also the opportunity to enjoy an evening of swimming at the Freizeitzentrum where a large main pool provides students with plenty of space to enjoy a splash. A great location for schools to explore, the Freizeitzentrum is a gift that keeps on giving with ice skating also available on-site. The fantastic Tauern Spa is another popular evening entertainment option where groups can enjoy an after-ski thermal swim with spectacular views of the valley. Curling is also available in Zell am See allowing schools to maximise the number of winter sports on offer to students. Another unique option available to HTS groups sees students enjoy the exhilaration of watching a professional ice hockey match. Supporting the EK Zell am See ice hockey team, students can get to grips with the fast-paced sport that brings together exquisite skating skills, tactical nous and brute strength in an evening watching a friendly match-up organised for visiting school groups. Take time out away from evening entertainment to explore the town with your students. With the options of pizza nights at local pizzerias and ice cream evenings, there are opportunities to dive into some culinary delights. Walk up to the medieval St Hippolyte’s church located in the centre of town and take to the cobbled streets to peruse the many cafes offering refreshments and cake. There is also the option to visit the village of Thumersbach.

Breitenbach may be outside the main Ziller Valley, but you still have good access to the ski area via the motorway.

evening entertainment Bowling
Still very popular in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, students will enjoy a variation of American bowling using smaller balls with two finger holes or sometimes even none, trying to knock all nine pins from their rope-hung positions. Most bowling venues typically feature two lanes and offer school groups the chance to experience a traditional setting.
Ice skating
Take to the idyllic outdoor ice rink for a night of skating under the stars. The perfect way to cap off a day on the slopes, students can enjoy the village vibes and festive spirit of your resort town. Groups travelling in Easter to larger ski resorts may be presented with indoor ice rink options.
Curling
A traditional game using stones with long handles, the game can be played on indoor rinks and outdoor sheet, depending on the size of the resort you are visiting. Some hotels also feature their own natural curling areas at the rear of their accommodation.
Swimming
School groups can enjoy a 2-hour swimming session at one of the indoor pools available in your area. Pools will typically feature slides and flumes for students to enjoy and make a big splash. Lifeguards will be on duty to monitor the swimming areas.

Thermal swimming
Thermal swimming complexes offer school groups the chance to enjoy a series of pools varying in temperature. While they are typically slightly more expensive, the range of facilities on offer allows for students to experience indoor pools, whirlpools and outdoor pools.
Pizza night
Taking place at a local restaurant either as well as or instead of dinner, the evening will see students tuck into their favourite pizzas as they relax after a day on the Austrian slopes.
Ice cream evening
Taking place as a separate activity from the inclusive meals enjoyed at your accommodation, the ice cream evening allows students try out a range of flavours. A firm favourite with school groups, even despite the colder temperatures!
Ice hockey match
Exclusive to groups travelling to Zell am See, schools can enjoy the spectacle of a specially-scheduled friendly ice hockey fixture featuring the local team - EK Zeller EisbĂŁren. An exhilarating experience, the fast-paced sport is a whirlwind of excitement.

Horse sleigh ride
Available at selected resorts, horse sleigh rides transport students around the countryside or town. Sleighs differ in size and fit between 5 and 15 people as students explore the resort from a different perspective.
Alpine coaster
The alpine coaster sees students strap into a single tobogganstyle cart and zoom down the rails of a hill-based course. This exhilarating rollercoaster experience will certainly get the blood pumping! Students can control their speed using handles and enjoy the ride at their own pace.
Disco
There are two options for the ultimate end-of-trip party with HTS Total Ski. Some accommodations have rooms available to put on a private disco in-house and selected resorts have their own local discos which allows in students aged 14-18, giving them the experience of an Austrian youth disco.
Snow tubing
The fun and fast-paced activity will see students slide down floodlit pistes on inflatable donuts. A great activity which engages students in some races and plenty of laughter, your group won’t want the evening to end.
