Local Attractions Extend your time in Shropshire with a visit to the beautiful town of Shewsbury just a short drive from Condover Hall. Also nearby is Ironbridge Gorge, known as the birthplace of industry and home to ten awardwinning museums. Families wanting to go all out can also take advantage of Alton Towers which situated 90 minutes away or continue the adventure in Snowdonia National Park, just over the Welsh border.
Condover Hall’s History Described as the grandest manor house in Shropshire, Condover Hall is steeped in history, with the earliest records of the estate dating back to 1102. The manor house as it is seen today was built in 1598 for Thomas Owen, who died before the new hall was completed. The building’s design is still debated today, with distinguished Shropshire mason Walter Hancock and influential Elizabethan architect John Thorpe both supposedly involved with it’s construction.

Condover’s Facilities Condover Hall has a huge amount to offer; our action packed itineraries are designed to make sure you get the best experience possible from breakfast to bedtime. Family Adventures are inclusive of the use of all facilities, so feel free to take a dip in the indoor pool, explore the gardens or relax in the newly refurbished bar area – if you can find the time!
Swimming Pool
In between activities families can take a dip in the on-site indoor pool which opens at various times throughout the day. It has a depth of 0.8m at the shallow end and 1.2m at the deep end. The pool will often be supervised by a member of staff but adults must accompany children when swimming.
Cinema Room
Fancy a chilled out evening? Our cinema room will show movies most nights that Family Adventure runs, so bring along the popcorn and your nearest and dearest to relax in front of a great film.
Gardens and Woodlands
Condover’s exquisite gardens are perfect for wondering and exploring while you’re with us. The gardens are kept to a beautiful standard and you may even come across some hidden relics! See if you can find the stone statue keeping watch over the aerial trek.
Bar
Relax in the newly refurbished bar area after an exciting day and reflect back on all the challenges you’ve overcome with other equally exhausted families. On selected Family Adventure dates there will be live music in the bar area for groups to enjoy.
Games Room
While Mum and Dad kick back with a glass of *squash*, younger visitors can take each other on in a game of pool, table tennis or table football in one of Condover’s game rooms.
