Basic Peace Officer Certification

Tulsa Tech Certificate Program

Pursue a career in law enforcement with training from Tulsa Technology Center. As a CLEET-authorized Basic Peace Officer Certification Academy, Tulsa Tech offers a new route to becoming a certified basic peace officer. Our curriculum meets all CLEET-mandated basic peace officer requirements.

Students must complete CLEET-3401 as the first class and CLEET-3419 as the comprehensive final testing administered by CLEET.

Industry Certification Information:

Prior to enrollments applicants must take and pass the POSSE Test with a 70% or higher score and the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), and commissioned officers complete an application with CLEET (Fees associated with these requirements are listed in the Required Cadet Expenses table at the end of this document). Upon successful completion of the academy student must pass the CLEET Certification Exam with an 80% or higher score (Fees due at time of enrollment in this block):

•Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response (LASER) Certification

•Law Enforcement First Responder (LEFR) Certification

•Firearms Certifications: Pistol; Shotgun; Rifle

Special Program Information:

Aproximate Academy schedule = 4 days/week 10hrs/day = 64 days

Academy Program Attendance Requirements:

Cadets are expected to complete all course work and training in all blocks of instruction. Each block requires 100% attendance of all training hours to complete the block successfully. Every cadet is required to complete all hours of seat time included in each block totaling 631 hours of seat time for the academy. If a cadet misses any time during the academy, the cadet must state in writing the reasons for the absence. The Academy Director may approve absences due to unforeseen emergencies, illnesses, subpoenas, mandatory duties of current law enforcement, or other unusual circumstances. Any work missed must be made up during the current academy at an additional cost to the cadet. The cadet will be required to provide documentation for excused absences, such as a copy of the subpoena, doctor's statement, etc. Absences of more than five (5) hours or 50%, whichever is less, in any training block would require the cadet to attend the entire block in the next subsequent academy unless the absence was due to mandatory duties of current law enforcement or military service. (Cadets are required to participate in a graduation rehearsal and ceremony.)

Academy Program Grading Requirements:

Cadets are required to pass all instructional blocks with a 75% or higher score on their Block Exams, except CLEET-3411 and CLEET-3419. Cadets must pass CLEET-3411 and CLEET-3419 with an 80% or higher score.

Program Refund Guidelines:

Tuition and fees are non-refundable for any course that has been started.

Financial Aid Available:

This program is eligible for VA or Workforce Development funding for those who qualify. Cadets receiving fincial aid or department sponsorship must enroll in the full program. Cadets recieving prior credit approval will pay the discounted rate for the remaining courses in the program. Tulsa Tech does not offer student loans.

Estimated Cost of Living Expenses:

The estimated cost of living allowance for this four (4) month program would be $8,299 for independent cadets and $3,916 for dependent cadets.

Applicants for a journeyman’s license may submit their Tulsa Tech HVAC Certificate or transcript to the CIB certifying completion of a minimum of two hundred and fifty (250) hours to receive one -half (1/2) year credit of the three years’ apprenticeship requirement. Students who complete the 300 hour HVAC Certificate program AND at least 75 hours of the classes listed above , may submit their Tulsa Tech HVAC Certificate or transcript certifying completion of a minimum of three hundred and seventy-five (375) hours to receive three-fourths (3/4) year credit of the three years’ apprenticeship requirement.

Certificate Program Description:

In order to be eligible to take the NCMA exam, a student must be a current student in a NCCT authorized school or have graduated from an NCCT authorized school within the past five years. Other pathways to eligibility include two years of verifiable fulltime experiences as a medical assistant practitioner within the last five years, or completion of medical assistant training or its equivalent during U.S. military service within the last five years. There is a fee to sit for the certification exam.

Certificate Program Title: Nutrition & Foodservice Professional Training

Certificate Program Description:

Enroll in Tulsa Tech’s Dietary Manager program and train to become a qualified professional managing dietary operations while studying foodservice management, human resource management, nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and food safety.

» Approved by the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP)

» Successfully complete this program and be eligible for membership with ANFP and sit for the national credentialing exam

» As part of the ANFP training program requirements, all 150 field experience hours must be approved and verified by Tulsa Tech’s Progra m Director to ensure compliance

Students are eligible to take the exam if they meet the requirements of one of four pathways. The most popular pathway is graduating from an Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP)approved dietary manager training program, which includes at least 120 hours of didactic education plus 150 hours of field experience. The Tulsa Tech Nutrition & Foodservice Professional (Dietary Manager) Training is an approved ANFP training program.

Special Program Information:

For candidates who have graduated from an ANFP approved dietary training program, you must submit a copy of your certificate of course completion, or your name must appear on the official graduate listing that is sent to ANFP by the college/school.

Tulsa Tech’s welding certificate programs provide training opportunities to develop skills in one or more major processes for entry or advancement in this lucrative field.

Tulsa Tech is an AWS accredited test facility, qualified to witness welding performance qualification testing in accordance with AWS, ASME, API, etc. welding codes. Call (918) 828-5000 to schedule a test.

• The Tulsa Tech Sleep Technology Focused 2 Program is a BRPT STAR-designated Focused 2 education provider for the purposes of CPSGT and RPSGT examination eligibility Additional exam eligibility criteria required

• The Tulsa Tech Sleep Technology Self Study Program is a BRPT STAR-designated Self Study Program education provider for the purposes of CPSGT and RPSGT examination eligibility

Additional exam eligibility criteria required

• Enjoy the flexibility of online and blended learning

• Reliable computer and internet access and basic computer skills are required

• Students must successfully complete a BRPT STAR-designated Self Study Program prior to enrolling in the Tulsa Tech Sleep Technology Focused 2 Program

• The Tulsa Tech Sleep Technology Self Study Program certificate will be awarded after successful completion of the Sleep Technology Self Study course

• Training includes classroom activities, lab practicums, and clinical experiences

• The Tulsa Tech Sleep Technology Focused 2 Program certificate will be awarded after successful completion of all courses in the series

Anatomy & Medical Term – Sleep Technology (POLY-3334) is offered through Tulsa Tech as an optional course intended for those new to the healthcare field or those wanting a refresher in anatomy and medical terminology.

Special Program Information:

Tulsa Tech also offers a BRPT STAR-designated Focused 2 program for the purposes of CPSGT and RPSGT examination eligibility.
