“We paddle 12 months a year.” Here’s Suzaane Lair enjoying a beautiful winter afternoon at Bixhoma Lake.

Bixby native and artist JP Morrison Lans enjoys Anhelitio House, a translucent house, now part of her installation at Living Arts. Anhelitio means iridescence and playing with colors. This house is an evolving, hypnotic environment that the public can stand inside. Colors and images breathe through the walls and arrive and disappear as the LED lights shift through the color spectrum, creating the illusion of

life and magic.

JP Morrison Lans examines one of the many houses in her installation at Living Arts, Wundrian. Wundrian anthropomorphizes houses and encourages self-relection. Some methodologies of child psychology liken a child’s rendition of a house to an insightful self-portrait.

Bixby is among the fastest growing cities in Oklahoma. Since the 2000 census, the population has grown by 70 percent to 22,580 residents. The city, on the banks of the Arkansas River, is a blend of Tulsa’s metro area and a rural farming atmosphere that includes Carmichael’s Produce and Conrad Farms. Among the south Tulsa suburb’s big annual events are the Green Corn Festival and Bixby BBQ ‘n Blues.
