Bixby is among the fastest growing cities in Oklahoma. Since the 2000 census, the population has grown by 70 percent to 22,580 residents. The city, on the banks of the Arkansas River, is a blend of Tulsa’s metro area and a rural farming atmosphere that includes Carmichael’s Produce. Among the south Tulsa suburb’s big annual events are the Green Corn Festival and Bixby BBQ ‘n Blues.
