Uke Gone Crazy

This unique ukulele class will take you on a whirlwind of surprising musical adventures that span the stylistic gamut from Jimi Hendrix to Hamilton, the convention-breaking, smash Broadway musical (and other songs of varied genres). If you have eclectic musical taste, then this class is just the ticket for you! Pre-requisite: Ability to play a few basic uke chords. Bring your soprano, concert or tenor ukulele (no baritone ukes, please) along with a pick and a uke capo to each class. Sorry, no loaner instruments are available.

Taiko Drumming

Taiko, the art of Japanese Drumming, is now available to you! If you have ever wondered what it is like to play the big drums, now is your chance to find out! This is a physical activity that requires being able to stand for an hour and flex and stretch. No experience needed for the beginning class and drums are provided. We will be using River Ridge High School’s practice drums and playing on the rawhide drums during the final class. NEW Virtual participation option! If you would like to participate virtually, choose this option during registration.

Riverwalk Guided History Tours

Join us for a new walking tour series, in collaboration with OlympiaTumwater Foundation. Explore Tumwater’s past, hear about the Olympia Brewing Company, and we couldn't forget the annual salmon migration! Hear from the local experts as you find yourself amazed by all the wonder that is Tumwater. Participants will meet the tour guide outside of the Olympia-Tumwater Foundation office at Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls. Pre-registration is required.

Guiding Good Choices: Navigating Middle School Years for Parents

Strengthen communication skills, reinforce bonds with your student, and reduce risky teen behaviors in a fun series of workshops to help you successfully navigate and actually enjoy the middle school experience.

Active Older Adult Trips

Our trips and tours program for active adults (50 and over) offers exercise, sightseeing, photo opportunities, and a chance to meet some great people. We strive to accommodate adults of all abilities. Departure will be from Tumwater City Hall. Individuals requiring assistance, please contact staff: tumwaterparks@ci.tumwater.wa.us. Registration Deadline is one week prior to each trip. *Masks will be required.* Fee include trip management, transportation, and admission if applicable.

Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island

Bloedel Reserve is an internationally renowned public garden that provides a tranquil and refreshing experience in nature. On this guided walking tour, experience the 150-acre garden estate of naturally landscaped reserve with gardens, ponds, and open meadows. On our way back, we will stop by the Bainbridge Garden Nursery where you can browse plants and garden supplies, and take in lunch at the Bainbridge Garden Café. Bring money for lunch and optional nursery items.

Snoqualmie Falls and Casino

Snoqualmie Falls is one of Washington State’s most popular scenic attractions. This two-acre park with hiking trails, observation deck, gift shop, and the famous 270 foot waterfall all make up this Northwest wonder. After the falls, we will head over to the Snoqualmie Casino for lunch at the Falls Buffet. You will have a chance after lunch to try one of the many slot machines or table games. Make sure to bring money for lunch and casino.
