10_EASA BULGARIA The European Architectue Student Assmebly is an organisation, which brought together students since 1981. This meeting takes place at a different country each year at summer. The program is two week long and brings together 400-500 students. There are a lot of projects to participate from which the students can choose, and you can join this event as a tutor/organiser/helper also. At this year I joined the group called “Syntesizers”, which was led by 4 tutors from Belarus. We created these “intruments”, which were built in to the city, we used accurately three arcs, as a part of a wall. Each installation was different, I planned the last one with the wooden boxes. These built instruments didn’t have a usable sound on their own, so we wired them with electrical cables. These cables connected with the arduino, which was programmed by one of the tutors. The main concept was that each arch had 3 sensor points, so 9 altogether. Depending on which are hit simultanously, it would have a different electronic sound. We recorded the sample sounds in the city, for example; locals talking, cat meowing.

There are a lot of projects to participate from which the students can choose, and you can join this event as a tutor/organiser/helper also. I spent 2 weeks in Malta as a participant, joining the romanian group “ASA”, which stands for “Augmented Space Agency”. This workshop experimented with the 3D virtual world, augmented reality- AR. Everyone had their own project and the tutors helped us creating it. We did use the following softwares; Unity3D -building the application for android and scripting with Python, Cinema4D -3D inner space, vuforia-website for the “tracking images” and Agisoft Photoscan for the panorama pictures. After short 2 weeks we tried out our applications. In the pictures below there are some footage from my personal project.
