Cooper Pegler co-sponsors first Lantra Excellence Awards

Leading professional knapsack sprayer brand Cooper Pegler put their name behind the first Lantra Excellence Awards, held at the awarding body’s Stoneleigh Park headquarters.

Co-sponsors and Lantra partners Cooper Pegler and Ego Power Tools funded winners’ trophies and prizes presented to recognise and celebrate the “hard work and dedication of Lantra’s Instructor and Assessor network”.

Winner categories included 4x4 tractor; lift truck; pesticides; pest control; health & safety; groundbased chainsaw; tree inspection; aerial arboriculture; plant and machinery and landscape tools.

Categories also recognised outstanding contribution, best newcomer and longestserving instructor.

“It was a privilege to co-sponsor the first Lantra Excellence Awards,” said Allan Wainwright, Sales Manager for Commercial Sprayers at Hozelock-Exel.

Allan, who is responsible for Cooper Pegler, Berthoud and Laser Industrie professional sprayer sales, said that the Awards were a great event to recognise the skills, expertise and experience of instructors and assessors from across the land-based industries.

“The success of the event makes me confident the Excellence Awards will develop into a major date in the sector calendar,” Allan added High spec knapsack and pressure sprayers continue to play a key part in professional grounds care, delivering plant nutrient and protection products. Contractors and operators use thousands of units every day - many of those Cooper Pegler and Berthoud units.

As manufacturers of the longestablished and respected brands, Hozelock-Exel has formed a strong working alliance with Lantra.

Knapsack Maintenance half-day course, https://www.lantra.co.uk/ product/35514, Lantra launched earlier this year - part of a commitment to raise awareness about sprayer functionality and the importance of proper upkeep in helping lengthen their lifetime.

“With sound maintenance, knapsacks can enjoy a long and trouble-free life, saving money, helping reduce plastics use and generally making operators’ life a little bit easier,” Allan says.

Also, Cooper Pegler and Berthoud cutaway knapsacks are proving a valuable training tool - some who attended the Excellence Awards already include them in their courses.

“That’s a really positive outcome as the sector evolves,” Allan states. “Knowledge of how sprayers work allows end users to understand that they are a serviceable tool, not an opportunity for functional failure.

“Working with forward-thinking organisations such as Lantra is all part of the process to help strengthen the role of knapsacks as invaluable aids - products that do their job day in, day out, across so many sectors.” n www.cooper-pegler.com
