Bermeo has always stood out for the quality of its fish and its preserves, especially those of bonito, tuna and anchovy. Speaking of canned fish, Ondarroa is another reference on the coast of Bizkaia. If it is good to taste them there and then, it is a must to savour them in the form of preserves, once you get back home.

Don't forget that another of Bizkaia's canned specialities is anchovies in salt.

Zallo is a canning factory in Bermeo that has specialised in the traditional production of white tuna and Cantabrian anchovies since 1926, offering tastings and guided tours of its factory, and allowing you to taste the best canned products and fresh fish.

The Campos canning factory dates back to 1920, when two pioneering families started out in the sector in Bermeo, becoming a leading company in the world of canning.
