Placing your future in your hands
What is personalisation? Personalisation, or Self-Directed Support as it is often called, is a fresh approach to care. It’s a new way of working which allows you to manage your support. Turning Point Scotland has been working with local councils to make sure this new approach is easy for you to use. Above all, personalisation allows you to be in control of your own life. It puts your future in your hands.
Placing your future in your hands
Who can you speak to? Your local council is working hard to make personalisation happen. If you have a Care Manager, Community Nurse or support provider then speak to them. After you have been assessed and your needs identified, your personal budget will be put in place. This means you will get a direct payment to purchase the support that you choose. At any point during this process you can speak to someone at Turning Point Scotland to find out more about your options.
Placing your future in your hands
What happens next? You now have control of how your money is spent which means you can decide how your support is provided. You can choose to buy support from anywhere. Turning Point Scotland can work with you to advise and support you in making these choices. You • • •
may want to use your money for personal care support to access social activities or to go on holiday, or for a short break
No matter what your needs and support choices are, you can speak to Turning Point Scotland and we will help.
