Arturo Almeida Arturo Almeida was born in Brownsville Texas in 1962. At a young age, Almeida moved to Corpus Christi where he later became an artist and independent curator. Almeida enrolled at Del Mar College and continued his studies in photography at San Antonio College and the Southwest School of Art and Craft. In 2000, Almeida established the Café Latino Gallery. In 2003, Almeida joined The University of Texas at San Antonio as Curator of the UTSA Art Collection under President Ricardo Romo. reminiscent of the work of Edward Weston, Almeida's photography delivers dramatic visions of the everyday; elevating these common sights to a place where they stand alone as works of art.

According to the artist, given the nature of digital photography, he prefers to use natural light. He enjoys the wide range of digital technology that is available to create a photographic image.

Rolando Brise単o Born in San Antonio, Texas, Rolando Brise単o received his M.F.A. at Columbia University and is currently living and working in San Antonio. Public art projects executed by Brise単o include installations at the Houston Intercontinental Airport, the Austin Convention Center, Trinity University, San Antonio, Brooklyn Library System, North White Plains Railroad Station, and Metro North, NYC, as well as a piece commemorating the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city of San Antonio. Brise単o's work is included in the collections of major museums such as the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., and the Brooklyn Museum of Art, as well as private collections in Europe, Latin America, and the United States.

Jane Dunnewold Jane Dunnewold is the author of Art Cloth: A Guide to Surface Design on Fabric (Interweave Press; 2010), and co-authored Finding Your Own Visual Language (2007) and Paper and Metal Leaf Lamination (2008).

and was awarded the Quilt Japan Prize in the 2002 Visions exhibition, and the Gold Prize, at the Taegue International Textile Exhibition. Dunnewold is currently Vice President of Outreach for the Surface Design Association. She maintains Art Cloth Studios in San Antonio, Texas. Roland Mazuca Roland Mazuca has over 25 years experience in the field of art education and nonprofit art organization management. He has been an artist-in-residence, art instructor, gallery director, education director, assistant director, grant manager and executive director for the City of San Antonio and several art organizations in San Antonio. As an artist, his ceramic work is in private collections in the United States, Mexico, and Norway.

Angel Rodriguez-Diaz Angel Rodriguez-Diaz was born in 1955 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He received his B.F.A. from the University of Puerto Rico and his M.F.A. from Hunter College in New York City. Rodriguez-Diaz has exhibited works throughout the 1980?s and 90?s, including

solo shows at Intar Gallery, New York; Oller/Campeche Gallery, New York; Ollantay Center for the Arts, Queens New York; Mendelson Gallery, Pittsburg, PA; and the Museum of Fine Arts, San Juan, Puerto Rico. His work has been included in numerous group shows, including the San Antonio Museum of Art; Blue Star Art Space; San Antonio, TX; Museo del Chopo, Mexico City, Mexico; El Museo del Barrio, New York; Washington Project for the Arts, Washington, DC; Mexican Fine Arts Center, Chicago IL; Art in General, New York; and the Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art, New York. He has been an artist-in-residence at Arts International, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation Yaddo.

Rodriguez-Diaz is an accomplished painter who has pursued the social and political boundaries of portraiture since the 1980?s. His paintings celebrate the diversity of individuals through the use of masterful brushstrokes and dynamic colors.

Beck Whitehead Beck Whitehead is a graduate of Trinity University and The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she received her MFA in 1980. She has been the Chair of Papermaking and Book Arts the Southwest School of Art & Craft in San Antonio, Texas since 1989. Whitehead has taught workshops at craft schools around the country including Pyramid Atlantic, Haystack Mountain School of Arts and Crafts and Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts. Her work has been

exhibited in the United States and Mexico. While specializing most recently in paper paintings, her work in paper has also included sculptural pieces, drums and oneof-a kind books. Exhibitions include: Contemporary American Paper Artists at the Center for Book and Paper Arts in Chicago; The Embedded Image at the Craft Alliance in St. Louis; and a solo exhibition at the American Museum of Papermaking in Atlanta. Beck is also on Hand Papermaking’s Board of Directors.

Terry Ybáñez Mrs. Ybáñez has painted for 30 years. Her art (paintings, prints, performances, and murals) reflects her commitment to our cultura as a vehicle for education.

Mrs. Ybáñez has illustrated 3 children’s books: Hairs/Pelitos by Sandra Cisneros, The Christmas Tree/El arbol de navidad by Alam Flor Ada, and That’s Not Fair/No Es Justo by Carmen Tafolla and Cheryl Tenayuca. She has exhibited her art in the U.S., Mexico, France, and Kuwait. She is currently working on paintings, prints, and drawings for an exhibit in 2011. The body of work is influenced by a novel written by Barbara Renaud Gonzalez, Golondrina, Why Did You Leave Me? Mrs. Ybáñez has taught in public schools for 20 years.

Before receiving her certification she taught art at community centers in San Antonio and Austin, Texas. She is currently teaching art at Brackenridge High School. Mrs. Ybáñez, also collaborates with community organizations as a board member and volunteer. She is currently serving on the Cultural Arts Board
