WHAT TO EXPECT Length of session
Please block out sufficient time for your session. If you are having make-up and hair styled prior to your session then allow around 1.5 hours for that and also travel time to the location. The photography portion depends on which session you pick, how fast you change, and number of outfits.
Posing
Clients are nervous when we start and then are posing like pros by the end of their session. This is because we have fun and I always help guide you through each pose, yes, even the natural ones that don’t look posed. I work towards getting a range of expressions, some smiling, some more pensive and natural looking as well. Just remember to relax and trust me. I will also make you walk, move, twirl and even jump to get some movement shots.
Locations
When planning your session we like to check with you on what locations you prefer. Urban, downtown, natural, woodsy or combinations of a few are all options. We know several locations around the Seattle area that work great and can offer suggestions as well.
Passions
Whether it is a sport, pet, music, basically anything that you are passionate about, we are happy to include it in your senior pictures. These photos will make your collection of images so uniquely about you.
Yearbook photos
We always take several portraits that will be great options for your yearbook. I do ask for your school yearbook specifications ahead of time so I know what is required. I have also been asked to do some pretty creative yearbook photos for our clients.
CLOTHING TIPS Have fun with this! We encourage you to bring several outfits, and we will help you to select the best ones for your session. For example, if you choose the ULTIMATE session we recommend bringing at least 10 outfits. We will not get to them all, but it will give us a great idea as to your style and ‘look’ so that we can give you the best experience possible. Be conscious of parts of your body that might make you uncomfortable. For example, if you are uncomfortable with the way that your legs look, avoid shorts and shorter length dresses/skirts as legs appear larger. Feel free to add any cool jackets, coats and sweaters, yes even if we’re All glasses will produce glare in your senior shooting in the summer. portraits. Bring outfits that you love, are comfortable in etc. Jeans, tops, sweaters, skirts, shorts etc. We do strongly suggest covering your arms in one or more outfits.
MAKE-UP & HAIR Make-up is very important. Even if you do not normally wear much, a professional make-up artist will can give you a natural look that makes your skin look fresh and clear for your pictures whilst emphasizing your features. Your eyes are the focus of most of your photographs so feel free to make special requests with the make-up and try something cool. If you are planning to do your own make-up add an extra layer of base and eye make-up. Thicker mascara makes more defined eyes. Always bring along a lipstick or lip gloss to your shoot. Your hair should reflect you, and your own style. Senior portraits are not a time to try a new look for your hair that you do not normally do. Hairspray is your friend! Use it liberally to avoid frizz. Any cuts or color should be done at least a week prior to your session to ensure they look their best. Feel free to change up your hair during your session – add accessories, pull it up, curl it (time permitting), and more!
FAQ Can I bring someone with me to the shoot?
I prefer no one else be present if they are not your parents and if they are not going to be participating. My main concern is for you to feel comfortable. If your parents are going to be with us for the session I ask that they hang back, or go run an errand, so I can work with you one on one during the photo shoot.
Do you provide hair and make-up services?
We give referrals to make-up artists that we have worked with and can come to you or you could go to them. We highly recommend getting professional hair and make-up styling for your shoot. We only provide this service after you have booked your session with us.
What if it rains?
If it is pouring rain, we will re-schedule the session. I will call you 1-2 hours before your session to have a consultation regarding the weather. Please note there is a re-scheduling fee if you choose to change your session up to 48 hours beforehand that is not weather related.
When will my pictures be ready?
Between 2-4 weeks after your shoot you will receive a link to an on-line private gallery. We then set up a phone appointment to place the order. Orders are required within 2 weeks of the gallery going live.
When is payment due?
Your session fee is due right away to book your date. Final payment is made at your ordering appointment. We do offer a payment plan and will divide your order over three monthly payments.
Our high school senior portrait sessions are totally one of a kind! You will receive beautiful, timeless pictures of this once in a lifetime experience. Getting your senior pictures will be fun, exciting and make you feel very special. We offer professional photography services before, during and after your session.
