WHY I AM STANDING IN THE MATUAŌTŪMOETAI WARD
I was raised and went to school in Ōtūmoetai, Tauranga and today I live here. I deeply care about this community and believe in making a difference and giving back.
For the past two years I have been working in Ukraine delivering humanitarian and medical aid to red zone towns and villages. My work in Ukraine and other initiatives demonstrates my ability to adeptly and deeply listen and understand what really matters to a community, large or small and to deliver tangible outcomes.
I will do that for Matua-Ōtūmoetai.

I ran for Mayor in 2019 to break a stranglehold on our city which was over 20 years behind in infrastructure, roading, civic amenity and housing. And while the catalyst didn’t survive the chemistry, the chemistry has most certainly worked.
Following a diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer, I felt it was best to resign. During my resignation speech I said that if commissioners are appointed, and if they are the right people, history will mark this date as that when Tauranga moves forward.
I believe in genuinely working with the community.
A true advocate of our residents, a champion of our community and an effective leader.
I have the experience. I have a background in working in complex environments with large assets to manage, and in delivering results that make a positive difference to people’s lives.
I will advocate for your needs and productively support the mayor.
