Cake Pops


You will need a sponge cake.


 Crumble the cake into fine crumbs.


• Add a little bit of frosting to your cake. The amount you add will vary based on the moisture. You want your mixture to be moist enough to roll into balls.


Tip: Be careful not to add too much frosting or your mixture will be too moist.


Place the mixture into your clean hand. Roll the ball between your hands applying firm and then gentle pressure to form a small ball. Do this until you are pleased with the shape of the cake ball.


• Put the cake balls in the freezer for about 10 minutes.


While the cake balls are in the freezer. We will melt the chocolate.


Bain marie A double-pan arrangement where two pots are formed to fit together, with one sitting partway inside the other. The lower pot is used to hold boiling water, which gently heats the mixture in the upper pot. Double boilers are used to warm or cook heat-sensitive food such as custards, delicate sauces and chocolate.


Dip your lollipop stick into the melted chocolate.


Push the stick into the middle of the cake ball.


Dip your cake pop straight down into the chocolate until it is submergedÂ


Let it drip the excess.


Place your cake pop in a foam base and let it dry.
