Trigonometric Functions Trigonometric Functions The Trigonometric Functions which are used in the math are those functions which are applied on any angle. The trigonometric functions are used to establish the relationship between the angles of any triangle and the lengths of the triangle sides. The trigonometric functions are more useful in studying the triangles out of all its uses in the mathematics. Some of the trigonometric functions which are most common are the sine function, cosine function, tangent function, cosec, sec and cot functions. Out of these 6 important trigonometric functions, the first three functions that is the sine, cosine and the tangent functions are the ones which are most commonly used. In fact, the other three trigonometric functions that is the cosec, sec and the cot Know More About : TSA of Sphere

functions are just the reverse of the first three trigonometric functions which means that cosec function is the reverse of the sine function, the sec function is the reverse of the cosine function and the cot function is the reverse of the tangent function. In a standard type unit circle that is the circle which is having radius equal to 1 and where a triangle is being made by the ray which is initiating from the origin and which makes an angle along with the X axis, by using one of the trigonometric functions that is the sine function we can easily get the length of the rise that is the length of the y component of the triangle. Also by using the other two trigonometric functions that is the cosine and the tangent functions we can get the other important information which means that the cosine of the angle will give the length of the run or the length of the x component of the triangle and the tangent function can be used to get the slope which is the ratio of the y component and the x component. We can understand the trigonometric functions more precisely by the definition of the trigonometric functions given below. The trigonometric functions are generally expressed as the ratio of those 2 sides of the right angle which contain that angle and thus can be termed as the length of the line segments of a unit circle. We can define the trigonometric functions in more modern form as the series which is infinite or can also be defined as the solutions of some of the equations which are differential. This allows in extending the trigonometric functions to random negative or positive values and can even also be extended to the numbers which are complex. Read More About : LCM Calculator 4 numbers

The trigonometric functions have many different kinds of utilities in various areas which include the calculation of the unknown angles and the calculation of the unknown lengths in the triangles which are generally the right angled triangles. For this matter, the trigonometric functions have a very useful hand to play in the fields of the engineering, navigation and also in physics. The most common usage of the trigonometric functions in physics is to resolve any vector into different types of coordinates. The other applications of the trigonometric functions that is the sine and the cosine functions are in the modeling of the phenomena of the functions which are periodic.
