Are you or do you want to become an entrepreneur? The goal of the Entrepreneurship Evenings is to broaden the horizons of Dutch students in the field of entrepreneurship. Interactive lectures provided by inspiring entrepreneurs will show the many opportunities of entrepreneurship. The informal atmosphere of the evenings will provide the entrepreneurs and students with the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences with each other. The central theme of the fourth and last Entrepreneurship Evening will be ‘Reinventing conservative industries’. During this evening, two entrepreneurs will talk about innovations that can highly impact their traditional business sector. Our first speaker, Thecla Bodewes, is a serious business woman in a ‘men’s world’ as being the owner of shipyards De Kaap and Bodewes and the company Maritima Green Technology. In 2011, she became businesswoman of the year and has used this attention to remind us of the benefits that waterways offer for transportation. During her talk, she will show you how innovative the maritime industry can be by presenting some of her own projects. The second speaker of the evening is Chintan Shah, the owner of Tvilight, a market leader in lighting controls. He developed a public street lighting solution that can be monitored at distance and assures the required amount of light at the right time. This smart lighting solution has proven to reduce the energy consumption up to 80% and the maintenance costs up to 50%. His dream is to provide one European city completely with this system by 2015. During the talk, he will show you the impact that his innovative idea may have on the movement towards a sustainable future. Speakers Thecla Bodewes
