CHAMBER STAFF

Letter From Community Partner

Valor Awards; Impactful Chamber Event It was my pleasure to represent City National Bank as the presenting sponsor of the 7th annual Top of Virginia Regional Chamber Valor Awards. It is such an honor to bring this group of Public Safety officers, Fire & Rescue personnel, their support teams and ordinary citizens together to celebrate their courage and commitment to the communities that they serve. Every year we hear incredible stories of bravery, quick thinking and fast reactions that saved lives. To watch these brave men and women humbly accept recognition for what they consider to be just doing their job, is uplifting. To know that on a daily basis they make the choice to potentially put their lives at risk, in order to save the lives of others is an incredible reality check for the rest of us. Just think, for a moment, of a community, where all of its citizens had that same spirit of commitment to their fellow man. These fine men and women deserve our respect, our admiration and our gratitude. I appreciate that the Chamber continues to support and recognize this very deserving group of people. - Katrina Meade, Retail Region Manager | City National Bank 2019 Valor Awards Presenting Sponsor

2019 Valor Awards

Honoring those who go above and beyond in the Top of Virginia By: Top of Virginia Regional Chamber staff The 2019 Valor Awards event hosted by the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber was held on Friday, November 1, at the Clarion Inn and Conference Center in Winchester. This event has honored those who work in public safety both as professionals and volunteers for seven years. It also recognizes every day citizens who come to the rescue of another in a time of need. This year 46 people from various local public safety agencies and businesses received awards. We are appreciative to our presenting sponsor City National Bank and the other corporate sponsors who supported the event. Each year a percentage of the proceeds from the event is donated to a public safety agency to assist with funding a special project. The Frederick County/ Winchester Law Enforcement Foundation will receive $4,940.00 from this year’s event to be used to support community outreach projects of the Winchester Police Department. Projects include community fairs, Cookies with Cops, Coloring with Cops, the North End Summer Kickoff, the Junior Academy, and help the police department establish positive relations in the community.
