Chamber Celebrates Greater Good Awards
Cynthia Schneider, CEO
Valley Health was presenting sponsor for the TVRC Greater Good Awards again this year, offering me the opportunity to welcome attendees to this annual recognition of the “best of the best” in our community. With a “Top Secret” theme for the event, it was recommended I come in iconic Bond attire, as in Secret Agent James Bond, star of Ian Fleming novels and 26 films. Whether you think Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, or Daniel Craig made the best Bond, we can certainly agree that Agent 007 has always been a man with a mission who overcomes every obstacle with creativity and determination. Valley Health’s mission “Serving our Community by Improving Health” is certainly not top secret; in fact, we share it widely inside and outside our organization. But as straightforward as it may sound, improving health is not a simple thing. Like many businesses, health care is increasingly complex. At Valley Health, we remain committed to providing the highest quality care to each patient we have the privilege to serve in an environment of rapidly advancing technology, staffing challenges, increased customer expectations, and limited resources.
Like James Bond, our dedicated Valley Health team faces those challenges with creativity, determination and exceptionalism. I can also say with great admiration that the organizations and individuals chosen for the Greater Good Awards exemplify these same characteristics. Your businesses are mission-focused, and when unexpected challenges arise, you handle them with resourcefulness and resolve. Please join me in celebrating all that makes the Top of Virginia a special place to live and do business. Thanks to all of you for your contributions to our community…and congratulations to all the recipients of the 2019 Greater Good Awards!

CLP Testimonials “Through the Chamber’s Community Leadership Program, I could fully immerse myself into discovering the past, present and future of the local area. The network CLP establishes year after year gathers together local stakeholders and aspiring influencers to highlight the strengths and assets of our community.” Kimberly Wilt | Resource Development/Marketing Director Habitat for Humanity of Winchester-Frederick-Clarke “For forward thinking businesses, I think this program should be mandatory for owners, and mid and lop level management. A full awareness of our community, its challenges, benefits and opportunities cannot help nu benefit any organization doing business here. The Chamber and the program sponsors, may who are past graduates and pillars of our community, are to be applauded for their financial commitment to continued existence.” Chad Bales | Principal TWG, The Winchester Group

TVRC MEMBER TESTIMONIAL: “Participating with the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber has helped myPotential at Home-A National Lutheran Service and I grow our community and professional contacts immensely. We are fortunate enough to take advantage of the many networking, educational and lead share groups that are offered by the Chamber. It is through these groups that I have made lasting professional and personal connections helping me be a part of the Winchester business community. We refer to professionals that we know, like, and trust. Without my Chamber connections I would not have been able to gain relationships with local business leaders that I am fortunate enough to know, like, and trust. I am then able to build rapport with them so they in turn can know, like, and trust me as a professional and the company I represent. myPotential at Home and I look forward to continued growth in the Winchester area and are pleased with the help that chamber has given us to do so.
