The Fossilized Flower Garden What you expect is not always what you’ll see
The Fossilized Flower Garden symbolizes a mix between the tailored and the unconcerned; a period where the symbolic fable flower combines with classic relief and structure. DAY Birger ét Mikkelsen’s 2015 Spring Summer 2015 is characterised by its prints, black and white, and all kinds of nude colours with a twist of murky tones. With the Stucco flower as the initial source of inspiration, we set out to create a new bohemian look by contrasting feminine and masculine archetypes. It is defined by its hard, robust surface - and lace, broderie anglaise and floral prints. Menswear shirts embrace feminine shades, clean stribes, strong, mable prints and masculine tones. The colors are iconic white and black, feminine nudes versus masculine blues, sensual roses versus cool greens. Rose-tinted white as new feminine elemental – and sand and grey mélange as laid back masculine classics. The collection empowers the rigid look with a breeze of an early morning spring mist, andyet again filled with a drop of warm and passionate bohemian. The feelings are persistent, full of love, dread and endless admiration. There are no time limitation, no boundaries, , only our mind’s hidden imagination. This is where soft emotions meet fragmented bits of marble, a bit daunting but still so very beautiful… “Our inspiration for 2015 Spring Summer 2015 arises from the strong feelings a petrified flowerconveys. The collection introduces a different and improved look that mixes unexpected treasures together, such as sharp men’s shoes, stylish laces and feminine shirts in unique permutations,” says Keld Mikkelsen. In the end, the beauty is not always what’s apparent, but how it’s told.
