SHERWOOD PARK STEELE & AJFHL

AJFHL was established in 2009 for female hockey players 18-21 years old to continue playing hockey at a competitive level after Midget.

Founding members included: Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Irma, Spruce Grove, Red Deer, Wainwright and Edmonton. In 2011 the AJFHL expanded with teams in Calgary and Cremona. Currently there are nine teams spread over the province with four in the North and five in the South.

If you are interested in playing for the Steele, we will have a skate throughout the entire summer and conditioning camp last week of August, then tryouts first of September

The Sherwood Park Steele would like to welcome everyone back for another season of Junior A Female Hockey in the highly competitive AJFHL. The Steele would like to thank our many sponsors, volunteers and parents who make it possible for our young ladies aged 18 to 22 years to participate with and belong to a organization with nearly a decade and half of excellence.

The 2022-23 edition of the Sherwood Park Steele team is a talented, hard working group of players that will strive to represent our organization with commitment, passion, character and teamwork. Most of our players are in College or University programs as well as working at part-time or full-time jobs. Many of them also find time to volunteer with local organizations and hockey programs. The Steele program is not just all about hockey though, it also hopes to inspire and instill in the players good citizenship and leadership values for which they can carry forward.

The team executive, management, coaching and training staff are looking forward to an exciting and successful season on and off the ice. Along with the players, we are deeply grateful and appreciative of the opportunity we are afforded by the support that comes from so many people and businesses in the community. We hope that you get a chance to check out some of the action and cheer us on at our home rink, the Ardrossan Recreation Complex. You’ll love the speed and finesse that these young ladies play with.
