Every year, the excitement over Best of Hall starts to build earlier, the interest level rises faster, and the public’s support grows exponentially stronger. The Best of Hall 2019 winners have been announced, and more businesses, nonprofits and individuals have been recognized for being exceptional than ever before. It is amazing how support for the Best of Hall competition has grown over the past four years, culminating in hundreds of nominees, thousands of votes, and a broad sampling of the best the area has to offer in dozens of different categories. The area’s largest competition of its type has become an annual tradition for many of you, as evidenced by the fact we often are asked “When does the voting start?” months before the ballots are ready. This magazine features the best of the best, those entities that the people in our community have selected as being worthy of special recognition. We know from past experience that many of our winners take great pride in hanging the plaques, mounting the certificates and posting the window clings that proclaim that they are considered among the Best of Hall. We also know that such recognition helps customers in deciding with whom they prefer to do business. But more than anything, we know that the annual Best of Hall competition is a lot of fun, for those who participate by nominating and voting, for those who are honored by being nominated and receiving votes, and even for those who may fall a little short but become determine to win their category next year. This year, for the first time, we added to the fun with a special public event to allow potential voters to meet nominees at the beginning of balloting, and a second public event at which the winners were announced and recognized. Some of those chosen as Best of Hall are familiar names that have been winners in the past, while others are being recognized with the honor for the first time. If you don’t’ see your favorite local company in the winner’s list this year, make sure you nominate them next time and then vote to help them win the recognition they deserve. We hope you will show your appreciation for the superior job done by each of these winners by doing business with them in the year to come.
