Green Eyes

a short story

The World Through Green Eyes is a blogzine based on the relationship between human and nature. It works on the basis of Trees, Wood, Green, Wild Girls & Pretty Bunny. Born the 2nd of October, 2010 as a blog, to give space for new young photographers, to let known their name to the world and to demonstrate their love for the Land. It grew up day by day creating a virtual online gallery, through submissions made by Flickr group and by email, for everyone who loves photography and Mother Nature, for everyone who loves to be wild. Posting three photos per day, based on the theme, color or creating a story. Immediately appreciated from the web community, The World Through Green Eyes began to make a list of the photographers who participate at the project, and it starts to interview them in the section “a talk with..”, starting in November, 2010 with Hollie Fernando. On April, 2011 to came abreast of the site, born We love… a free space to all the fan & photographers where they can post their project, works or things they love, all on the line of The World Through Green Eyes. On May 2011, after seven month from the birth, The World Through Green Eyes became a online magazine TWTGE; with the help of friends and photographers who participate at the project, we start to built up the magazine with interviews, photo gallery and photography history, with a graphic minimal structure, to give space to the photos and to follow the site layout, every number dedicated to one subject. On the following June came out TWTGE, the Polaroid issue. After the great success of the first issue, keeping post photos on the blog, we continued the trip, developing the magazine with new sections as tutorials, DIY, music, projects, blogs, magazines and vegetarian/ vegan recipes in the section “I like plant, I like cook it”. On October, 2011 came out the home issue, followed up, nowadays, by the fashion issue and the flower issue, released a few months ago. On 14 February 2012, was born Kuusi, a minizine in the small format of 7,5 x 10,5 cm, a collection of all our photographers, printed directly from home, in two language, photographer’s Mother Tongue and English, starting with the Italian photographer Arianna Lerussi. Today TWTGE consist of 600 Photographers on an archive of over 8000 photos, which more of 1300 posted in the site, continuously growing with projects, the magazine and soon a shop where to buy a printed version of the magazine.

Aëla Labbé Contemporary dancer and photographer Aëla Labbé was born in 1986 in Brittany, France. From an early age she devoted herself to dancing, a passion which led her to Amsterdam where she studied theatre-dance at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten for three years. Back in France, she became increasingly interested in photography, which she considers, by essence, connected to dance. Largely self-taught, she used her dancing skills to approach photography as a form of choreography, giving special attention to elements of composition: body, space and time. Her style is characterized by a certain singularity; it consists of constructed scenes, filled with something that wavers between sorrowfulness and poignant delight and belonging to a realm where the body language and its emotions are essential. In the most recent part of her work, she tried to dramatize the relationship between humanity and nature, aiming at objectifying her deeper and most peculiar feelings, her ethic and values, reaching a point where photography and ethereality merge imperceptibly. Aëla Labbé has exhibited internationally in The United States, France, Greece, England, Spain and Italy. Her work is also included in numerous web and printed publications. www.flickr.com/aela
