It’s - Job Fair Time and guess what? There are jobs to be had and recruiters looking to hire Texas State students!!
This is the time to SHINE, be bold and stand out in a crowd. Walk up to the recruiter, make good eye contact, introduce yourself using your practiced intro, shake their hand (with a firm and confident handshake), and let them know that you are exactly the person they have been looking to hire to enhance their corporate team.
There are some basic steps to prepare yourself and ways to maximize your job fair experience, and those steps and a few additional tips are inside this edition of LINKS. First and foremost, you need to have a plan. Job Fairs are loud, hectic and a bit overwhelm-

You never know who you will meet and what opportunity awaits...
These are a few steps to take to stay focused and to maximize your Job Fair experience. Be prepared, have a plan, and follow these basics:
Bring: Bring a pen and a portfolio with a note pad to keep yourself organized.
Collect: Collect business cards from the employers. Keep notes on the back of each card to remind you of key conversation points later.

Research: Take time to research the companies attending the career fair and openings they may have. Resume: Compose a well-written resume and have someone else review it too.
Plan: Plan which employers you want to target.
Dress: Be sure to dress professional and appropriate.
