BOBCAT BITS BOLDEN EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS
Newcomer Jaliyah Bolden wasted no time making an impact for the Bobcats. She led the team in kills on opening weekend, finishing with 19 in three matches for a 2.11 kill per set average. She also led in blocks with nine for a three-block average over three matches, tallying three solo blocks and six block assists. She also added an ace and three digs in her All-Tournament bid at the SMU/TCU Crosstown Challenge.
KOHL RECOGNIZED IN THE PRESEASON
Sophomore Jordan Kohl was recognized by the Sun Belt Conference in a preseason poll of the league’s coaches. After being selected All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team as well as the SBC Freshman of the Year last season, the SBC coaches tabbed Kohl as part of the Sun Belt’s All-Preseason Team.
TEXAS STATE TABBED SECOND
The Bobcats finished second in the Sun Belt Conference last season and took home the SBC Tournament Championship the season before. Both seasons ended with appearances in the championship match for Texas State, and a poll of the Sun Belt Conference coaches indicates it will happen yet again. The Bobcats were selected to finish second in the Sun Belt this season by a preseason poll of the SBC coaches. Texas State was slated just behind defending conference champion Little Rock, but still garnered three firstplace votes. WWW.TXSTATEBOBCATS.COM

It acknowledges outstanding accomplishments and leadership in the individual’s chosen business, profession or life work on a national or international level. In 1994, Chisum became the first female to be accepted for membership in the “T” Association’s Hall of Honor. During her intercollegiate days at Texas State, Chisum played on the softball and tennis teams. Induction into the Hall of Honor is the highest award a letterwinner at Texas State can receive. Chisum has passed along some of her volleyball knowledge in writing. She co-authored a book titled “Developing a Successful Volleyball Program” with former Bobcat volleyball player Stephanie Scott Jordan.
