BOBCATS BY THE NUMBERS 6 - Ethan Montalvo made six three-pointers at Troy, marking the first time a Bobcat had done that since 2013 when Deonte Jones did it. 11 - Texas State is allowing just 55.0 points per game defensively this season. That is good for 11th in the country, and an 11-point improvement from last season.
40 - Texas State has now allowed an opponent to score fewer than 40 points twice under Danny Kaspar. Prior to Kaspar’s arrival the last time a team failed to break 40 was 2003. 60.4 - Texas State shot 60.4 percent from the field (29-of-48) against Prairie View A&M on Dec. 6. That is the first time the Bobcats have accomplished the
feat since shooting 65.7 percent against Denver in the WAC Tournament in 2013. 2011 - Texas State won its conference opener for the first time since the 2010-11 season, beating Troy 57-46. The last time before that was a 84-71 win at Northwestern State, Jan. 10, 2011.
PLAYER TO WATCH Wes Davis G, Sr. • Has scored in double digits in each of his last three games. • Scored eight of the team’s first 11 points at Troy. • Scored season-high 17 points vs. Huston-Tillotson. • Was 3-of-5 from three-point range vs. Lamar and was three-of four vs. HTU. • Had Sun Belt-best, four steals in season opener at Seattle, to go along with seven points and six rebounds. • Currently fourth all-time at Texas State with 152 career steals.
