STORYLINES TO WATCH • Danny Kaspar is in his second year at Texas State as the 15th head coach in program history, after 13 years at Stephen F. Austin. • Texas State led the Sun Belt Conference in scoring defense last year at 66.0 points per game, its third lowest since 1983-84. • Kaspar is 21st among active NCAA coaches with 474 overall wins in his 34-year career. • Texas State returns five players from last year’s team, including 2014-15 Sun Belt Conference Preseason AllSun Belt Second-Team Selection Emani Gant. • Texas State brings in nine newcomers to this year’s team, with three freshmen, five junior college transfers and one four-year transfer. • Did you know: Texas State and Lamar used to be in the same conference, both in the Southland Conference until Texas State left in 2012 for the WAC.
