STORYLINES TO WATCH • Texas State led the Sun Belt Conference in scoring defense last year at 66.0 points per game, its third lowest since 1983-84. The Bobcats are even better this year allowing just 59.8. • Head coach Danny Kaspar is 21st among active NCAA coaches with 484 overall wins in his 24-year career. • Texas State returns five players from last year’s team, including 2014-15 Sun Belt Conference Preseason AllSun Belt Second-Team Selection Emani Gant. • Texas State brings in nine newcomers to this year’s team, with three freshmen, five junior college transfers and one four-year transfer. • Did you know: Texas State and UT Arlington have followed each other through conference realignment the last few seasons, going from the Southland to the WAC to the Sun Belt all at the same time.
