Texas State begins its second season as a member of the Sun Belt Conference and is playing an NCAA Division I FBS schedule for the third straight year. This marks the first time that the Bobcats will open a season with a home game since 2009 when Texas State defeated Angelo State, 48-28. The Bobcats opened the last four seasons at Houston in 2010, at Texas Tech in 2011, at Houston in 2012 and at Southern Miss in 2013. The Bobcats come into the game with a two-game winning streak in season openers, beating Houston 30-13 in 2012, and Southern Miss, 22-15 last season This marks the 107th season for Texas State football. The Bobcats played their first game in 1904, but did not play any games from 1943-45 due to World War II.

BOBCATS BY THE NUMBERS 2- The 2014 season marks the second straight season that Texas State is a member of the Sun Belt Conference. It is the first time since 2010 that the Bobcats will play in the same conference during two straight years since 2010. Texas State was in the Southland Conference in 2010, an independent in 2011, the WAC in 2012 before joining the SBC in 2013.

45 - Texas State returns 45 lettermen from the 2013 season. The Bobcats have 22 lettermen returning on offense and 20 returnees on defense. In addition, Texas State has both kicking specialists back from last season.

203- Head coach Dennis Franchione enters the 2014 campaign with 203 career victories. Franchione, who has a 203-121-2 career record, is one of four NCAA Division I FBS active coaches with 200 career victories.

107- Texas State begins its 107th season of playing football in 2014.

2009- This marks the first season that Texas State will open their schedule with a home game since 2009.

• Named 2014 Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team. • Selected to the Houston Rotary Club Lombardi Award Preseason Watch List. • Averaged 8.9 tackles per game and led the Bobcats with four interceptions. • Had a season-high 16 tackles at Troy and 13 tackles at UL-Lafayette.
