SETTING THE SCENE The Texas State football team looks to win its fourth game overall and second Sun Belt Conference game when the Bobcats travel to UL Monroe on Saturday, Oct. 25. The game will be played at Malone Stadium and televised on ESPN3 beginning at 6:00 p.m. (Central). Texas State enters the game with a 3-3 overall record and 1-1 SBC mark. The Bobcats look to rebound from a 34-10 loss against UL Lafayette on Oct. 14 after beating Idaho 35-30 on Oct. 4 and outlasting Tulsa, 37-34, in triple overtime on Sept. 27. It was their first overtime victory since 2008. ULM also enters the game with a 3-3 overall record and is 2-1 against SBC opponents this season. The Warhawks are looking to bounce back from a 48-14 loss at Kentucky on Oct. 11 and a 28-14 setback at Arkansas State. The Warhawks are 3-0 in home games this season after opening the season with a 17-10 victory against Wake Forest and winning their first two SBC games, 38-31 against Idaho and 22-20 over Troy.

BOBCATS BY THE NUMBERS 1- This is the first year the Bobcats are playing in the same conference during two straight seasons since 2010. Texas State was in the Southland Conference in from 1987-10, an independent in 2011 and in the WAC in 2012 before joining the SBC in 2013.

6- David Mayo has recorded 10 or more tackles in each of Texas State’s six games this season after logging 11 against UL Lafayette. Mayo also posted a career-best 20 tackles at Tulsa, 16 versus Idaho, 15 against Navy, 11 at Illinois and 10 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

4- Tyler Jones has rushed for four touchdowns this year after scoring on a season-best 27-yard run against Idaho.

8.5- Defensive end Michael Odiari leads the Bobcats with 8.5 tackle for losses after recording 1.0 against UL Lafayette.

95- Terrence Franks set a school record with a 95-yard run for a touchdown against Idaho. Franks also had two 70-yard runs in the game. 206- Head coach Dennis Franchione is one of four NCAA Division I FBS active coaches with over 200 career victories after posting his 206th career victory against Idaho.
