A LOOK AT THE COMPETITION • The Georgia Southern Eagles enter Saturday’s game with a 3-7 overall record and 0-1 mark in SBC play. • The Eagles, a newcomer in the SBC in 2014-15, most recently fell to UT Arlington in the conference opener by a score of 64-52 in Arlington, Texas. • Georgia Southern was picked to finish 10th in the SBC preseason poll and senior guard Anna Claire Knight was named to the conference’s preseason second-team. • With 10.6 points per game, Knight is second on the Eagles squad in that category. • Georgia Southern is led offensively by Angel McGowen who contributes 12.1 PPG. McGowen and Knight also combine for a total of 41 assists and 8.0 rebounds per game. • Victories this season for the Eagles include a 78-65 win over Jacksonville, an 84-36 victory over Toccoa Falls, and a 68-52 win over Southern. • The Eagles are averaging 61.4 points per contest while allowing 67.9 PPG. Georgia Southern is currently second in the conference in free throw percentage with a mark of 72.0 percent and fourth in rebounding with 40.7 RPG.

• This is the first meeting between the Bobcats and the Eagles. • Chris Vozab is the head coach of the Eagles and is currently in the third season. In her first season at the helm, the Eagles won four of the final eight games and earned a victory in the Southern Conference Tournament for the first time since 2010. ABOUT THE BOBCATS • The Texas State Bobcats enter the 2014-15 season with eight returners and four newcomers. • Last season, the Bobcats earned an invitation to the WBI Tournament which marked the first postseason appearance for Texas State since the 2008 season. • Last year’s Bobcats finished with a 16-16 overall record and 12-6 conference mark. • Texas State’s conference record was good enough to put them in a tie for third place overall in the Sun Belt Conference after originally being picked ninth by the league coaches. • This preseason, juniors Erin Peoples and Ayriel Anderson were both chosen to All-SBC Preseason Teams. • Peoples, a 6-0 guard from Little Rock, Ark., was named to the First-Team while Anderson, a 5-3 guard from Irving, Texas, was
