A LOOK AT THE COMPETITION • UL Lafayette enters Saturday’s contest with a 13-6 overall record and 5-5 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. The Ragin’ Cajuns got off to a fast start in 2014-15 as they went 8-1 in the non-conference season. • On Thursday afternoon, the Ragin’ Cajuns suffered a 57-47 setback against South Alabama. The win against UL Lafayette was South Alabama’s first conference victory of the 2014-15 season. • Jaylyn Gordon, Kia Wilridge, and Keke Veal lead the Ragin’ Cajuns offensively, scoring a combined 38.6 points per game for UL Lafayette. Wilridge and Simone Fields snag a team-high 5.1 boards per contest. • Prior to Thursday’s contest against the Jaguars, UL Lafayette had been riding a two-game winning streak, picking up a 63-56 victory over Georgia State and a 69-57 victory over preseason favorite Arkansas State. • Other conference wins for the Ragin’ Cajuns include a victory in the first meeting over South Alabama and Georgia State, and a win against Georgia Southern. • In the preseason poll, the Ragin’ Cajuns were picked to finish sixth in the 11 team conference. Veal and Wilridge were named to the All-SBC Preseason Second-Team and Third-Team,

respectively. • The Ragin’ Cajuns are led by Garry Brodhead who is currently in his third season at the helm of the UL Lafayette women’s basketball team. In the 2013-14 season, Brodhead helped the Ragin’ Cajuns to a 14-16 record, their best record since the 2006-07 season. LAST TIME OUT • In the all-time series between the squads, Texas State owns a 3-2 advantage. Most recently, the Bobcats defeated the Ragin’ Cajuns by a score of 70-64 at Strahan Coliseum in 2014. ABOUT THE BOBCATS • The Texas State Bobcats enter the 2014-15 season with eight returners and four newcomers. • Last season, the Bobcats earned an invitation to the WBI Tournament which marked the first postseason appearance for Texas State since the 2008 season. • Last year’s Bobcats finished with a 16-16 overall record and 12-6 conference mark. • Texas State’s conference record was good enough to put them in a tie for third place overall in the Sun Belt Conference after originally being picked ninth by the league coaches.
