A LOOK AT THE COMPETITION • The South Alabama Jaguars enter Wednesday’s game with a 4-16 mark overall and 1-10 record in the SBC. Against UL Lafayette on Jan. 29, the Jaguars notched their first conference victory of the season despite committing 26 turnovers. South Alabama shot 47.4 percent from the floor including 50 percent from three compared to just 23.9 percent by UL Lafayette. • Against the Ragin’ Cajuns, USA’s Chyna Ellis recorded a 13 point, 13 rebound double-double while Breanna Hall tallied 12 points. The Jaguars also recorded six blocks to just one by the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Sun Belt in three-point percentage (.354), three-point field-goal defense (.280), and tied with Troy for most three-pointers per game (6.5). LAST TIME OUT • In the first meeting between the two squads, Texas State won by a score of 63-42. Two Bobcats notched double-digit points (Meghan Braeuer and Kileah Mays) while South Alabama’s leading scorer, Marquita Daniels, tallied just nine. Mays also recorded a double-double for the Bobcats with 15 rebounds in addition to her 14 points. • Texas State leads the all-time series, 4-0.

• Through 20 games of action, Hall is the leading scorer for the Jaguars as she is averaging 15.4 points per contest. Hall is a 43.2 percent three-point shooter and owns an 81.8 percent free throw mark. • South Alabama is currently in 11th place in the 11 team league while the Bobcats are in a tie for third. • The Jaguars were picked to finish seventh in the SBC as a team while earning two, All-SBC Preseason Third-Team selections in the preseason voting. In addition to Hall, Rachel Cumbo was a third-team pick. • Terry Fowler is the head coach of the Jaguars as he is currently in his second season at the helm. Last season, the Jaguars led the

ABOUT THE BOBCATS • The Texas State Bobcats enter the 2014-15 season with eight returners and four newcomers. • Last season, the Bobcats earned an invitation to the WBI Tournament which marked the first postseason appearance for Texas State since the 2008 season. • Last year’s Bobcats finished with a 16-16 overall record and 12-6 conference mark. • Texas State’s conference record was good enough to put them in a tie for third place overall in the Sun Belt Conference after originally being picked ninth by the league coaches.
