A LOOK AT THE COMPETITION • Georgia State enters Saturday’s match-up with a 10-12 overall record and 5-8 mark in conference play. With five wins in SBC play, the Panthers are tied with conference newcomer Appalachian State for eighth place in the 11 team league. • This past week, senior guard Alisha Andrews was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for guiding her team to a pair of victories over South Alabama and Georgia Southern. Andrews, the smallest player in the NCAA, tallied 15 assists and 15.5 points per contest in the two victories. • Andrews is just four steals away from becoming the second active player with 1,000 points, 500 assists, 300 rebounds, and 200 steals. She is the first Georgia State women’s player to receive the Sun Belt honor this season. • Makeba Ponder leads the squad in scoring with 11.7 PPG and is fourth in the conference to with 50 made three’s this season. • In the preseason poll, Georgia State was picked to finish just behind the Bobcats in fourth place. Last season, the Panthers finished in a tie for fifth place in the conference. Kendra Long, a senior guard that has graduated, was the lone player named to an all-conference team for Georgia State. • The Panthers are under the direction of Sharon Baldwin-Tener who is entering her fifth year at Georgia State.

LAST TIME OUT • The Bobcats fell in the first contest of the year against the Panthers on January 5 by a score of 74-69. ABOUT THE BOBCATS • The Texas State Bobcats enter the 2014-15 season with eight returners and four newcomers. • Last season, the Bobcats earned an invitation to the WBI Tournament which marked the first postseason appearance for Texas State since the 2008 season. • Last year’s Bobcats finished with a 16-16 overall record and 12-6 conference mark. • Texas State’s conference record was good enough to put them in a tie for third place overall in the Sun Belt Conference after originally being picked ninth by the league coaches. • This preseason, juniors Erin Peoples and Ayriel Anderson were both chosen to All-SBC Preseason Teams. • Peoples, a 6-0 guard from Little Rock, Ark., was named to the First-Team while Anderson, a 5-3 guard from Irving, Texas, was named to the Third-Team. • Texas State was picked to finish third in the Sun Belt Conference by the league coaches. • Head coach Zenarae Antoine enters her fourth season at the
