A LOOK AT THE COMPETITION • The Texas A&M-Commerce Lions enter Sunday’s contest with a 4-2 overall record as a member of the Lone Star Conference. • After scoring 20 points along with 14 rebounds (six offensive, eight defensive) and defeating Rogers State by a score of 62-55 in overtime, senior forward La’Tisha Hearne earned the Defensive Player of the Week honors. • Hearne now holds the complete set of LSC weekly awards, having also claimed Offensive Player of the Week honors in the opening week when she averaged 16.5 points and 11 rebounds. • She leads the Lions with 13.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. • Victories for Texas A&M-Commerce include a pair of overtime victories against McMurry and Rogers State in addition to a victory against Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas. • The Lions fell to Texas A&M-International earlier this season, a team the Bobcats defeated in the opening game of the season. • The Lone Star Conference announced that A&M-Commerce was picked to finish eighth in the preseason poll.

THE LAST TIME OUT • The last time that the Bobcats faced off against the Lions was back in 1984. Texas State won the most recent outing by a score of 81-54. • The current series record between the two squads is 4-1 in favor of Texas State. ABOUT THE BOBCATS • The Texas State Bobcats enter the 2014-15 season with nine returners and four newcomers. • Last season, the Bobcats earned an invitation to the WBI Tournament which marked the first postseason appearance for Texas State since the 2008 season. • Last year’s Bobcats finished with a 16-16 overall record and 12-6 conference mark. • Texas State’s conference record was good enough to put them in a tie for third place overall in the Sun Belt Conference after originally being picked ninth by the league coaches. • This preseason, juniors Erin Peoples and Ayriel Anderson were both chosen to All-SBC Preseason Teams. • Peoples, a 6-0 guard from Little Rock, Ark., was named to the
